Hi guys, please comment, like, sub or share if you're enjoying my videos. I need your help to keep making regular informative content. 😉 Cheers legends.
Another metod is to make up a tackle that will release from the lure when you got a fish on. I like the flexibility of it, where you can have 1, 2, 3 or how ever many hooks you like on any lure that you like. Added bonus is that you wont have lots of lures with dulled hooks in your tacklebox
complete techniques and supporting equipment make the lures perfect and beautiful, looks senior, the video tutorial is very good, thank you, greetings from eastern Indonesia, the outermost area of the Indonesian-autralian border
Wraps, wow. I was waiting for the airbrush to come out ......Cheers mate ...I watched all three videos and being 66 and stuck at home with a wrecked back maybe tryout with a lump of polymer clay..I have lots of the stuff about. Trial and error I guess. Cheers
I'd pre-cut the slot for the wire on the table saw while the wood was square, plus use a push stick to push through and another one to hold the timber against the guide, easier and Much safer. My workmate lost three fingers in less than a split second cutting wedges like this on one of these saws, he was a 64 year old shop joiner and used this saw all of his working life. Loosing or damaging fingers could make tying a tucked blood knot very difficult indeed 😥
Can't believe you got your fingers that close to the table saw blade to make the slot. Recommend a push stick. If the lure body were to split or kick back, it won't be pretty.
The wrap is an awesome idea, that's a really fancy shrink tube I'll have to research them thanks for the head's up I didn't even know that they existed! I learnt so much. Can I please ask you the gauge of the wire you use ? It looks about 1mm to 1.5mm! Is it Stainless Steel? A BIG THUMBS UP ALL DAY LONG. Take care my friend 👍😷👍🏴.... H!
No point in me including HM Lures because I'm in the UK so I ain't gonna get one. That Dizzy Borg guy has a fantastic way pf presentation, he's really great to watch, and ought to have his own channel!
Give me a piece of wood, a drill & a sharp blade & I'll show you how to reduce the wood into any number of toothpicks! I'll continue to buy mine. It's more cost-effective for me in the long run. A very informative video. I really appreciate & admire the skills & ingenuity that others possess. Darren Borg is one of those people.
I've got some good balsa, I'm going to start hand carving some jump frogs. Thanks for the video, this is awesome. * it would've been nice to see how he applies the epoxy, it's more of a difficult step for those watching who dont know what they're doing
There is no way I'm getting my fingers that close to a table saw! Also, if you cut your through-wire slot after you've sealed your lure, aren't you destroying the seal? When you shrink your wrap in the water, you'll soak up water. Sorry to sound like a killjoy, but as a lure maker myself these points were a few things that jumped out at me straight away.
Beetle B run a paint brush with sealer down the slot before you wrap. Cutting the slot at this time in construction allows you to get dead centre and also stops any of the wood from splintering. You can chose to cut slot at the start of construction if you choose but this is how I do it. The are many different way to make lures and it is impossible to put all possibilities into a video. If anyone wants specific details on how to just go to HMlures Facebook page and I can help.
@@darrenborg5976 Do you normally leave the slot open before wrapping? I'd glue a slither/fillet of wood in and sand ( leaving room for the wire of course ) or I'd place a drinking straw into the slot and use a filler to fill down to the straw and sand. I've also seen them wrapped after the wire is fitted, a little notch cut for the centre link and this doesn't leave a big drill cut out of the wrap making for a neat job. I'm not knocking you and appreciate your time and effort showing this, plus I do not doubt that your lures are great, I'm just trying to fill in details which I think were missed 👍 It's just my nature 😂 Thanks!
