Thanks for sharing. I have some questions hoping you could advice, 1. how do you design/decide on how big is the reservoir to cater to 3 peltier? 2. The reservoir in your video, how long can it last before you need to change the water? 3. Normally at what temperature you change the water? Just an idea maybe some improvement could be done is to have a probe installed in the reservoir to monitor on the temp? This is a very good idea though on improving AC in campervan without needing to open an vent hole. Great work!😀
Thank you for your comments and suggestions.😀 The temperature difference between the hot and cold ends of the Peltier can reach 60-70 degrees Celsius. Cooling the hot end can lower the temperature of the cold end. The minimum temperature at the cold end can reach -50 degrees Celsius or even lower. So the lower the water temperature and the larger the capacity of the water tank, the more conducive it is to heat dissipation at the hot end, thereby reducing the temperature at the cold end. My water tank is 1.1L. Due to the small size of the water tank, the water temperature rises rapidly and can reach over 70 degrees Celsius in one hour. At this point, I need to change the water. I have installed a temperature probe (video 6'24"~06'29") on the metal water tank connected to the hot end of the Peltier to detect the water temperature. But your suggestion of setting a temperature probe in the water tank is better. My car's third row seats don't have air conditioning, so I made this portable air conditioner. It partially compensates for the shortcomings of car air conditioning. But I think there is still a lot of room for improvement, including the following aspects: Replace the water tank with a larger capacity. Heat insulate the water tank in a foam box and add ice cubes inside. Thank you again for your feedback and sincere suggestions.😀 -------------- More videos: www.youtube.com/@BillMingLabs
Try to dump the heat into daily use hot water... You know. Use cool side for cooling in the house, and the hot side dumped into water usage. Dayum thats also cheap and the energy is not wasted.
@@BillMingLabs If the car is moving you use the air to water cooler from outside the car to cool the water and/or the Peltier and/or anything that gets hot.
This is a great idea, thank you for sharing this idea with the world, just curious, what size water pump did you use? I think a smaller water pump that uses very little watts would suffice, I've seen aquarium water pumps that say "160 GPH at 10 watts"
@@BillMingLabs with that power consumption and not gonna cool your room better buy a 4500btu AC split with 260w power, indonesia country sell those unit some years ago LG hercules mini 0,5hp unit 4500btu, some panasonic brand inverter AC unit can set to run only 200w at lowest setting
I am glad you like it. The parts list is here: ru-vid.com/show-UCfPXj9SsMDYpK-QbE0-z4awcommunity?lb=UgkxCa-ocxWOLgy2-y3-pC2JrZhF003009Lq It mainly includes the following important components: peltier Thermal conductive silicone grease Water cooling equipment (including water pump) Cooling fan Walnut wood temperature control switch Have a good day😀
@@BillMingLabsafter some time it's start to gain in temperature at cold side....and other thing is when we use fan on the cold side the peltier cooling rate doesn't compete with the flow rates of the fans........because at normal or high speed when new air enters and gets cold the peltier slowly loses its temperature and from there the temperature rise starts......because peltier cooling speed doesn't matches the fan throw speed......if I close the fan then stored air inside the container starts to cool down again.....
@@BillMingLabshow this problem can be correct? I have used two peltiers and two water blocks for each and connected with the pump also.....and used the heat sinks on the colder parts in order to get expansion on cooling so the air flow through the fins and gets cold before reaching the fan.....and used a single small fan for it.......because if I use two or a big fan then above mentioned issue starts.. so how I can resolve this issue?
My car has no air conditioning vents or fans in the third row. I put it in the third row. I think it's better than a fan. Of course, many areas can be improved, such as replacing a larger water tank and putting it in the foam tank, increasing the number of Peltier, etc. Thank you for your comment😀
Why if switch "on",the temperature keeps getting higher? About temperature maintainence by voltage fixation to send then it auto-off, until some time to on again, to maintain the temperature?
The thermometer on the left detects the temperature of the water, and as long as the Peltier is working, the temperature will rise. The thermometer on the right detects the temperature of the air outlet. The middle thermometer detects the ambient temperature and can set the starting temperature (such as 26 degrees) and stopping temperature (such as 25 degrees). For example, if the ambient temperature is higher than 26 degrees, it will start, and if it is lower than 25 degrees, it will stop, thus achieving constant temperature.
It is water. He is using the peliter elelments to cool down the air and exhausting it into his car at the expense of heating up the water reservoir in the blue container. I want to do the same but battery powered. Thanks a lot for the great video.
@@BillMingLabs Sir, I really Need the specific List of the components 😁Like the size of the hose, The name of the components itself because some link online are not the same 😅, Thank you in Advance
peltier system was never efficient on bigger scale. power consumption, heat exhaust is already at a disadvantage. am doing a project where i can distance the exhaust or simply distance the polar sides from each other. maybe extending the sinks using copper heat pipes. again inefficient. but fun tho.
It depends on the weather conditions. I put it in the third row because my car doesn't have a separate air conditioning outlet in the third row. I am trying to create a more powerful air conditioner. Welcome to follow my new video. Good luck😀
One side of the peltier will become cold, and the other side will become hot. The heated side is connected to the heat dissipation pipe and water pump, and the heat is absorbed by the water, playing a role in heat dissipation.
It has a certain effect in small spaces that are not particularly hot. Increasing the number of Peltier devices, increasing the capacity of the water tank, and using ice water will have a more significant effect.
Peltier is a refrigeration element commonly used in car refrigerators, small refrigerators, and water dispensers. If the fan is not turned on, the temperature can reach -10 ℃.
@@BillMingLabs I know that but I am talking about the heat generated to cooling done, in a closed area it will not help not in car, also the voltage required to genrate will discharge battery, don't you think having a pipe at back to get that heat generated by fan exaust by a pipe outside, also the water cooled can be used as drip onto some grass like a desert cooler will make it more efficient
