Nice. An easy 7th grade Home Ec. project from the 1950s. Using only tulle and grosgrain ribbon, they could be turned into fancy bouffant cocktail aprons with no pockets or hemming required. Those made great gifts.
Thank you, this is really so clear and easy to follow and you offer handy advice for turning projects perfect especially as a newbie to sewing. I'll definitely try this for the hobbit costume I'm working on! :)
Small correction: You made a double-fold hem, not a rolled hem. A rolled hem is an extremely narrow hem used to finish fine, sheer fabrics. It has a different technique which is usually made either by hand, or with a special foot that literally rolls the fabric down into this tight, tiny hem. A double-fold hem is a great sort of hem, useful for most applications, and yours was perfectly fine. It just made me sad to hear you use the wrong term, when it actually means something different.
