Something that should be mentioned is wheel size because its a big factor. A scoot with 10" wheels should be addressed with different gearing than a scoot with 12" wheels. The difference between the wheel size and top speed are both about 20%. And a 20% lower ratio is about the most most you can get out of a gear change. So a engine with stock gears and 12" wheels is going to have about the same acceleration/top speed as it would with 10" wheels and a 20% lower gear ratio swap.

Informing people as to where you can get hold of something is not an infomercial.if you paid attention to the fact he is running a shop,finding out he sells said performance item isn't much of a suprise.
Hey bud. Quick question. I bought a go kart with a gy6 engine advertised as 200cc. The specs on the site says 169cc. My question is, how do I know what I have? And if its 169cc, what upgrades can I add to it to make it faster and possibly produce better tork? Thanks in advance.
I've never modded any of my gy6 motors but this seems to be the better mod out of all of them. I've played with sprocket sizes on bicycles and motorcycles. They can make all the difference in top speed. How much is the set going for?

I bought a CVT kit and those gears and I’m only going like 55 at most downhill maybe 60 I have the 150 cc engine that came with your stretch kit why do you think it’s only going 55 shouldn’t it be going faster?

So you said it gives you a 8%. Increase but yours went up 30%? Im kinda confused. Id like to buy this kit but will it work on the trike? Cause with the chain the ratio is different.

I have a 2004 GY6 150cc somebody stole my carburetor off of it do you have any idea where I can get a cheap replacement carburetor I'm on disability with limited income I've never been able to get this bike to go over 47 miles an hour and that's with it full throttle not sure what's going on well anyway I like your video look forward to more videos And it only has 624 original miles the girl who had it bumped into a car with it and became scared of it the guy I got it from rode it from her house to his house then before the carburetor got stolen I piddled around here with it
Hi dude. I got an sym crox 125 with a gy6 engine. But I can't find a gear box kit for it. The transition is on the other side of the cvt. Got any idea where I can find a gear up kit for it. 😢
I’m in Colorado Springs so I will have to come up to Denver and visit you guys. My 150 gy6 Met is pushing 76mph here but when in FL I was over 80. I would like to get those gears and see what I can push out.
Hi. I watched video (excellent and interesting) and then went to your website, but was unsuccessful in my information quest. I have a Chinese 125cc scooter and am looking for an appropriate quality bigger bore kit and taller crank kit. If I purchase and install both, approximately what % increase in performance (especially interested in top end for highway mileage, not interested in acceleration much). And if you have links to both kits - that would be great. tx
Ian macarthur Everything modification based should never be your daily commute vehicle. Your commute vehicle needs to be one thing; reliable. You start to take things beyond manufactured specifications & for ever 1% gain in power you’ll lose 15%+ in reliability. Not slating @rollingwrench or anyone, but as mods go that’s how it is.
Hi i have a gy6 125cc and bought a performance air filter but i don't want no change my exhaust system can i still get more performance tunning air fuel mixture? Cos i tried without tuned my air fuel mixture performance were poor ,worse than stock filter. Please let me know thank you

I built a shity china gy6 50cc into a 91cc stoker with an airsol piston.. managed to top out at 68 mph. Everyone online told me it was impossible to go past 50 mph LOL. It lived for 14k miles and my intake was set up wrong causing drip that eventually killed my valves and I never bothered to fix it.. just sold that pile of shit.
Ok I just did a road test with the gear up kit from you and I did only 65 MPH is there something did wrong? This is the CDI box I have GLIXAL ATMT1-147 Gy6.
what gear did you use : when I go to the shop what gear to ask them about : where did you buy it from ? you said thatyou created them : how ? using a lathe ?
That kit isn't too expensive for a 150cc GY6. Other than this, what other mods should I do for both off the line and raising my top speed without going Big Bore?
@@RollingWrench Thanks. I can't afford a Big bore or a Reveno. These two aren't so bad together. If I could have afforded a quality scooter, I wouldn't have bought Chinese in the first place. I'll save my pennies and try these out. My goal is 60 to 65 mph and my stated mph is 55 plus depending on rider and road.
@@RollingWrench Question - Will this ultimate variator kit and gear up kit both work with the Reveno? If I decide to go that rout in the future, it may be enough to keep me from buying a whole other scooter. I saw another of your videos and was critical because I thought why spend so much for mods when you could just but another scooter but I see now they may not be such a bad deal. If I bought the ultimate variator kit, then I would only need the Reveno clutch itself for 359.00 and not the whole kit right?
Jhay Gamba not really safe but can be done....first off if you just straight take the cvt cover off you can't start it with the kick starter or the electric starter because the kick start is built into the cover (on any of the few gy6 motors I have seen)...and the electric start gear, a.k.a. the Bendix gear, pushes up against the cvt cover and is held in place by the cvt cover. ...so maybe possibly you could start it with the electric start with the cover off ( though a very good chance ot wouldn't even start) then if it did start the bendix gear would fall onto the outer variator fan face and possibly cause massive damage, maybe make the scooter stall out. That being said, there are somewhat clever people, often with deep pockets, who either made their own custom piece of metal that bolts into two of the holes where the CVT cover would bolt in to hold in the Bendix gear in place so they can start the scooter with the electric start and not have the electric start Bendix gear come loose and interefere or fall out. The people with money buy what I think is called an ankle biter kit. It bolts on where the CVT cover used to be and holds in the Bendix starter plus some kits keep the kick starter but it basically has most of the cover cut off so most of the drive belt, variator and clutch are exposed to open air to stay cooler for performance/racing setups and some of the ankle biters come in different colors and designs and some people think they look cool... So...bottom line is even if you rig your scooter to run without the CVT cover like I mentioned above, it is dangerous because there would be exposed moving parts such as the electric start Bendix gear, the drive belt, variator and clutch that could catch your pant leg or your ankle and mess you ul, cause serious injury and or a crash. You could accidentally put your hand in there if you started the bike and were trying to work on it while it's running like that. Or road debris like rocks, pebbles, tree branches, water or whatever could get in the moving parts and break them causing damage to your scooter or worst case a crash. People do it....I wouldn't recommend it. Some even jist cut a hole in the cover where the clutch and/or variator are to cool it down while keeping most of the belt still covered. If you do it be careful and you heard it first right here it's dangerous
232 does a 100MPH in your RUK ? Damn we should race i have a nice 106 Kymco Super Feaver that could give you a little run for your money ! Who makes the gears ? Chinese ,Taiwan, Japan , Italy ?
@Daddy Savage Somebody must have pushed it off the Grand canyon then ! Your 232 wont last long on gas so i would save the money . I know i sound like i am just talking crap, but i been in this game for 30 plus years building and racing small cc engines for my shop and others . 232 are good in theory but they just come apart when pushed , they need a better case ie a real 250 case so you can go big 300cc plus ..
Variator upgrade, sliders/ roller weight swap, air intake, rejet the carb, exhaust, contra spring, and make sure your valves are set up correctly... Best free mod is to make sure tires are inflated properly to reduce rolling resistance...

I don't have a Honda Ruckus, but I have a dio I have a polini adjustable clutch. I have polini Corsa 70cc. I have a polini variator. I have a polini 24 carburetor. I have a uncle. 23 intake I have a v a pipe. The Piston of the polini Corsa is a 47.4 piston is a replaceable.

I gotta 171cc Big Bore Kit with Cam, Nibbi 30mm Carb & Nibbi Air Filter K&N style, a Variator with 6.5g Rollers, and about to get a Reveno Clutch… ALL ON ON RAGGED OUT CHINESE SCOOTER FRAME THAT CANT BE STRETCHED WITH WIRES EXPOSED EVERYWHERE, a Seat that travels around and collapses if you move forward, and missing front body and rear sides. But it sounds nasty and flies! All UNDERCOVER without a tag-lol- Im waiting on an inexpensive frame to get it streatched n dropped riding on wider shoes n soles
If you put Lance Armstrong on a 10 speed bicycle only leaving it in first gear , and you road the same 10 speed bicycle only leaving it in first gear, you guys would have the same top speed. Lance Would just me quicker to get to that top speed. You can only pedal so fast. If you don’t change the gearing you won’t change the top speed. If you increase the cc’s you increase the muscle.... does that make sense?
232cc Honda ruckus? Top speed only 60mph? With 232cc's?? Are you sure you got that right? Honda Ruckus stock is 49cc. I had the Chinese version looks like urs that was 150cc stock GY6.
