Really great video. Just doing a set of Mogami Neglex 2534 cables for my Roksan Nima and this was a great help with the location of the wires to the 5 pin din, was going to ask about all connections being the same but you already answered for someone else further down the comments. Thanks for your help and the no nonsense video Tweakerman.

Just like to say a big thanks for sharing so much beneficial info, subscribed, makes so much difference for us that don't have bottomless pockets but really enjoy our music systems and like to play at some diy improvements. Will have a crack at replacing the old and original rca cable on my PD375 with this recipe or slightly modified to fit into the plinth case, original RCA, lol its even unshielded. Love your channel mate.

Super. My suggestion if you could add sum of material costs where you specifying material for project or/and cost for every part.

Excellent work and good timing. I'll be rewiring and recapping my turntable in the next week or two. I had been mulling over the phono wiring but now I know what to do.

What silver solder do you use? I do know that it is usually alloyed with other elements which alters the melting point. Pure silver melts at 860 degrees which is well out of reach of a small tipped soldering iron. Using normal lead soft solder is obviously a no no. Any suggestions tweaker man ? or anyone else.

Thanks for the video! Very helpful. I have a few questions. relief What total length is acceptable? I would guess that 1.5m total length would be practical, but I could optimise a bit... and invariably make it "just a bit too short to use" :-). Should I use the 0.5mm or maybe a 0.3mm? Should I use a pure silver single conductors or the silver plated copper multi-strand conductors? Should I bring 4 wires with PTFE separately from the headshell through the arm and out into the plinth before collecting them, or twist and tape the two pairs?

Hello Eric, you can use this wire www.ebay.co.uk/itm/123079946364. 5 runs, twist the 5 together, remember to mark them all to start with, then split them, then twist two pairs & the last one would be you earth wire, I hope you understand what I'm saying, thanks for commenting & watching.

Quick question, on the RCA side, you out together the shield with which wire, pos or neg? Thank you

Hi Ian. Just a quick question, I'm making a copy of your tonearm cable but am finding different wiring diagrams on the net for the 5 pin female din plug. Did you use a multimeter to confirm which ones were which or should I just ignore the other ones ive seen? I have a Roksan Tabriz arm by the way, in case that makes any difference?g Cheers dude. Keep up the good work!

Hello Andy, here's a diagram for wiring, you can use a multimeter if ypu want, but you shouldn't need to , as long as you keep the left/right channels & ground labelled, you should be fine. images.app.goo.gl/HkVhEjTGMzvnimQ68

Thanks for your response but now ive realised i may have been a bit dim ere and not for the first time, i hear you say. The diagrams may appear to be different because it depends on which end of the 5 pin din plug you are looking at. The left and right channels are on different sides of the ground depending on whether you are looking at the end to be soldered or the end that plugs into the tonearm! A lot of the diagrams ive been looking at are not clear in this respect so thats why i was a bit confused. As usual though, you’ve come to the rescue. Thanks again TM and keep up the good work

Hello Tony, it sound really nice, I'm just breaking it in at the moment on a low volume, it's going to take some time, but will do a video on how the deck sound with all the upgrade soon, I've got plenty of other videos coming before that, cheers Ian

@@tweakerman Is breaking in, or settling in, a factor for all the components of the turntable? Almost everything is new, so does it need time to settle in or limber up?
@tweakerman
@tweakerman 3 года назад
@@audioupgrades The cables need breaking, but the tonearm needs running in like all new stuff, it will settle down after a few weeks.

It doesn't looke like a tonearm wire to me. Unless we see it mounted on a tonearm ;)
