@@Yeah-wt1mu before you finalize press the skin editor, it gives you settings to tweak. If you want the black pieces to go away assign them to she skin shader
@@fatralphslippyfist6285 I mean I have a skin model that isn’t on the character. Plus, the settings on the skin are off. I can’t find where to change the skin colour everything just makes it either blue or black, and it’s default is a African-American colour
This is very cool. Manuel Bastioni dropped this project years ago, and it was such an excellent addon. I'm glad somebody picked it up and did what was necessary to bring it up-to-date with current Blender versions.
WHY IS THIS VIDEO BLOWING UP RIGHT AS BLENDER 4.0 BASICALLY MAKES THIS UNUSABLE. UGH. If you're seeing this. Download a version of Blender that's compatible with MB LAB and export that model as an FBX and then import it to Blender 4.0. So sorry guys if this is an inconvienence but it worked when I first uploaded it ahahaha
So basically define how I want the starter body and face etc to look in a version of blender that works well with MB Lab then when thats defined, export the project as fbx and import into Blender 4.0 or 4.1 now and it should work to allow me to continue building onto the model and create animations and all the rest of the fun?
When I create my character, finalize and save it, click on the character and then try to click on ''face rig'' it tells me to select a finalized MB character? I don't understand what else am I supposed to do in order to ''finalize''. Little help anyone?
Try clicking on back up and save character again and then finalize again. When the back up and save character option is selected, it does that, but then you have to click it off and finalize it again. Let me know if that helps. Dm my instagram if u need a video tutorial
That’s very tricky. You’d have to make sure the head ends off with the same amount of vertices as the body in order to merge them. Send me your insta and in a week I’ll make a video for you and show you how if need be. I’m going on vacation tomorrow so I can’t do it for a week
I KNOWWW, it’s so weird!!! Happened to me too the other day and I spent hours tryna figure it out. It’s so annoying. You have to start a new blender file when that happens. Wish it was better optimized
I have the same problem. My interface is not showing those tabs (Blenderkit , Mdlab, Real Sno,...) I am a complete Blender noob so I don't even have a clue how those tabs are called so it's been pretty hard finding a tutorial to get explain how I can get these tabs in my interface :')
Found it in the comment here: @DarthFetid i would love to set up like that mate but my layout isn't like that at all. how do i get those tabs on the side, how do i get that specific tray on layout? great video other than that. EDIT: got it figured: THE "N" BUTTON to bring up those tabs at the side. not that hard to mention really. thank you
Omg I’ve been having that same issue. Blender has been so weird with exporting fbx. Look up a video on how to keep textures when exporting with fbx. If it doesn’t work then I’m not sure. It’s worked in the past but recently it hasn’t sadly :/
That happens to me sometimes and I don’t know why. I usually just increase the saturation on the model and call it a day. It doesn’t happen every time though. That’s why I save before I export, that way I can go back to the save before I exported and try again in case that happens
is this addon free forever or after using it some time it will ask for money (tbh i might even pay for such a plugin if its not too expensive but i just need to know)
hey i have no idea why but i dont have all of the skin tone settings (for example, skin complexion) which ends up making every human i generate red ?? praying someone knows why 😭
i have a tutorial how to make clothes. But if you wanna add clothes quick, try searching something like "clothing add on for blender". i get it tho, sometimes you wanna skip to the good part which is seeing the final product. It's tedious being a 3D artist
what is the limit on the body mesh perimeters ??? for instance can a person use , , Head: 27500 Torso: 110,000 Arms: 45,000 each Legs: 60,000 each ?????? and can it he exported with a htr. extension ??
I think it can. but let's be honest. If you did use it commerically... who would know? I'm not saying you should. because i dont know... but if you did... who would know? something to think about
GUYS. IM SORRY IT DOESNT WORK ANYMORE, THE NEW UPDATES ABSOLUTELY F***** IT. BUT, the website shows when you download it, what versions of blender it supports I suggest you download that version, create the model, export it, and then import that model to your new version of blender. And if it doesn’t work. Well dang bro I didn’t make the thing. I made the video to help you out I don’t know how it works. BUT. I have an alternative. It’s an application called “makehuman” it works outside of blender so it doesn’t matter what version of it you have. Use that to make your models. It’s not as good as MB LAB, but f*** bro at least it works once again tho I feel bad I made this vid and it got so many views and it didn’t work for so many people. I made my channel because I wanted to make a channel that made tutorials that actually worked, and now that one of mine are out dated I feel genuinely bad. I’ll make a new TUT about make human. Even tho it’s not as good. Sorry for anyone who was inconvenienced
So if i downloaded a low version of blender does it works ? Because i am not interesting in depth of blender i need it to just make characters for my game
On the off chance that someone sees this - I've been struggling to apply the exported PNGs (bump, derm, displ etc) that you get after finalizing a character from MD Lab and wanting to import into a different project (since the models just have pure white skin and don't really have the skin detail and such from jump) Everything but the "body_derm" PNG seems to be super distorted when I attach them to a principled BSDF, frustrated but alas I am a noob so just trying to figure this out I'm likely just doing something wrong in the shader editor but if anyone has had any experience with this and would know how to apply the PNGs provided once you finalize a character, I would greatly appreciate it !
that happened to me too. I explain in the video how to bring the colour back. Now is all of the colour gone completely or is it just slightly less saturated?
why is every "how to make humans in blender" tutorial like this? yeah, i know i can just cheat and have some addon do everything for me. i dont want to.
Sorry about that mate. The actual process of learning is very long and difficult. This is for people who are looking for quick output so they can use the models in like animation or renders. As opposed to the actual creation of the model itself. Sorry if u felt mislead
hey how can i get the options like that on side . Blenderkit , Mdlab, real sno ??? idk how to get that please anyone . I haven't got anything on that area .
I have the same question lol. I don't even know how those tabs are called so I have no clue how to look up a tutorial to get this interface... I have been looking at random tutorials about Blender interface, but no succes. I'll comment again if I ever find it.

@@debbievancb7671sorry about that, I’m try to mention everytbing in my videos but it since I’m already so used to using blender, certain things that are obvious to me I forget to mention. I apologize for the inconvenience guys
Sorry guys. I think since Blender 4.0 came out. I don’t think it’ll work. I recommend downloading and older version of Blender thats fit for MB LAB. Make your character, export it as an FBX and then import it to Blender 4.0
thanks! I've been wanting to create realistic human models for unity project for years. Now this seems to be a super easy way to finally get to my goal. Thanks a ton!
You have to go into pose mode and go into one of the tabs on the right and click the eye button to make it appear. It’s hidden automatically for some reason
@@deusexVFX Thanks, I completely forgot I could change the visibility of items on different tabs! It took me a bit longer than it should've to find it just because I didn't realize I had to go Data then find the eye icon on bone positions. (I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed)
It can be hit or miss. Sometimes the colour does show up and sometimes it doesn’t. That’s why I always save before I finalize so that if it doesn’t I can quit and re finalize it. If it’s still not working then try exporting the colours and maps, finalize, then re attach them
@@ievgeniipolozov3818I’m not sure. I bet some people can’t really push what’s possible with the sliders but so far I’ve only been able to get semi realistic at best. It’s useful as a tool but it’s no meta human creator
People have been saying their model has no colours and I think it’s because you guys aren’t in rendered view. If your model is lacking texture or colour, look near the top right corner of blender. There will be 4 balls next to eachother. Each representing different view modes. Make sure you click the one on the far right which is rendered view
Hello there! I'm using this add-on for the first time in Blender 3.6. I was wondering, do you know if models made with this add-on can be used for commercial games? Say for indie and solo game developers?
The base models are covered by the AGPL license. The short answer, in terms most people are probably interested in, is no. If you want to release your entire game as Open Source, then yes. If you want to keep your characters as your own exclusive property, then this tool is a no-go. For me, both MB-Lab and Charmorph are now going into the trash bin.
A man of culture I see, welcome to the brotherhood Scotty, we welcome women as well but I tend to scare them off when I start talking about geometry nodes
I’m pretty sure u can. But u can’t just like sell the model. You have to do it in a specific way. Like I made a music video with the models and I got paid for the video. So in that way u can. Idk if u can add things to the models and sell them but I know that the way I just explained is allowed
doesnt having a system make a character for you take all the fun out of making your own avatar with your own hands? and did you scan it for malware and trojans before downloading?
0:59 fken floored me , I can relate soo much every time I think I'm done with something in blender fast forward a hour later and I'll end up with a file named 'finally final finalized fukin finalllllll" 🤣🤣
It's just one in hundreds of files I have that basically say the same thing 😂 the best is when you go back to the project after a while and have to figure out which one is the ACTUAL final one
Would love a tutorial on rigging for animation from here.. Importing the fbx into 4.0 comes with armitures already made which is cool, allowing to parent to the character easily. Unless I should just stay in Blender 3.0 and make my own armitures? I want to do a walking animation I just have no clue what to do after that hahah
I totally agree. But I can’t. For some reason, the old method of exporting fbx’s with animations and textures don’t work anymore. I had a stroke trying to figure it out. If you find out bro lemme know 😂
I'm using blender 3.5 and it's a bit buggy when using the sliders - it teleports my mouse in the middle of the screen and the sliders hjave a delay. But overall it will be really usefull for making a game. Deserves a like!
Because this is Blender, they don't make it user-friendly. They assume that even a newby needs to know all the keyboard shortcut combinations, instead of just having things visible and clickable. That being the case: after installing the plugin as in the video, hit N to open the sidebar which should have the MB-Lab on it.
Wow this is amazing! As a game dev who desperately wants good 3D models, all I’ve had to work with is Vroids until now. Could you do a tutorial on how to add clothes, set up lip syncing and other stuff? I’m working in Unity.
You have to go into pose mode and check them. Happened to me recently and I spent forever tryna figure it out. Go into pose mode and hit the eye button under the area that shows vowels and what not, and make it visible
It’s such a weird issue the program has. I always recommend that before finalizing, you create a spare save. Like a copy. Sometimes during finalizing it doesn’t show textures. For me I had to add a saturation node because it muted the colours. I’m not sure how experienced you are with blender but some people reported the same issue and it turns out they were in solid mode, not rendered mode. Hopefully this helps
I'm downloading this rn, I've been wanting to make some fantasy characters but making the model takes so long, having this I'd gonna be so helpful. Thank you so much dude
so is this add on just completely broken for 4.2 right now? cause i see nothing like im seeing in this video, i have to finalize or something like that
@@_Feiks People that make character building software and addons and then say "We will tell you how you can use it and charge you top dollar if you sell characters that *you* made with their software" should be avoided.
Hi, thank you for the tutorial. When I create the model I can't see the skin and the texture of the eyes. Do you know why? I have just installed blender and MB.
Yea a lot of people have that issue. Since you’re new to blender there could be a few reason why it’s not popping up. I would suggest watching a tutorial on blender and eevee and cycles then trying again. Update me when u can
I’m have a video that teaches this! You can learn to do it from scratch from my second most popular video, or u can watch my video using “Audaces” program which can actually create it without any modelling. I don’t think it’s free anymore tho
Can you elaborate? You’d like to use a photo of what? Like a person and have the sliders replicate the person from the photo? If that’s what you’re saying then it can’t do that but that’d be really cool
Bro all tutorials have just shown that you can make a humanoid but i had no idea it came with sliders for full customization. I'm booting my pc to set this up as I type this
