I made a few episodes for a cartoon and thought I used a bunch of software for it.. It was about robots so I used a Text to speech software for voices. Photoshop Character animator After effects Vegas FL studio A bunch of websites for assets and audio clips. This guy has a lot of animation in his videos so I'm not surprised he uses a bunch of different tools

​@@Jocab Nice! Okay, rapid-fire questions: 1: You render your video into one track to then edit the audio. For the final project render, do you use that pre-rendered video track, or do you copy the audio tracks over to the original video tracks, then render? 2: Do you use handbrake to compress video footage prior to editing, or is that just for converting file formats? 3: You collect sound effects from a wide array of sources. For video games, do you just pull the sounds from youtube videos? 4: What program do you use to quickly download that many sound files? 5: Workflow-wise, do you budget time? You mentioned the number of days each video took, and a general timeline of the process, but do you put a cap on any part of the process (in terms of days/hours) when it's taking too long and it's, say, 90% there? Or is it a 'when it's done' approach? 6: Do you take notes between the ideas stage and final script, or do you immediately put pen-to-paper in full prose? 7: What encoder and bitrate do you export with? (Optional question since this is the generic annoying one lol)

1: I render the already rasterized video track with the audio, which I know is like doing a copy of a copy but for the time it saves is worth it, I don't see any noticeable quality loss myself. 2: I only really use handbrake to change the MP4 container of the videos that vegas can't open so that they are usable in vegas. Vegas is really picky with the MP4 it will accept but converting them with handbrake without a change in quality will usually make them importable. 3: I use a variety of youtube-mp3 websites. they are free and readily available. Check out the sound ressource website too, amazing website for all sounds (sprite ressource / model ressource / sound ressource are different versions of the same site for different assets) 4: RU-vid-mp3 downloaders, and then I just keep the sounds on my pc for later use. 5: I usually go for its done when it's done but have a daytime schedule, I wake up at 10:30, workout and eat until 1pm and work on videos until 1am, 1am is the latest hour I allow myself to work up to. This kind of production cycle speed is only possible if I do this full time. if I did this part time it would take 3 months per video at the least. 6: when I decide the game I want to make a video on, I start writing the script in full immidiately and don't stop until its done. But If I have jokes in mind I want to use in the video right away, I will write them down as soon as possible. 7: I use NVEC because that utilises my GPU to render which cuts render times by 3 times. The bitrate is constant at 50mbps, But only do this if you have the hard drive space because the higher the bitrate the more space it takes. Also I render 1080p 60fps, used to render at 120 fps but stopped since the additionnal production time is too much (EX: the DRG video is at 120fps) lemme know if anything else 😎

​@@Jocab Thanks for the info! Sound Resource is an excelllent find, didn't know that existed. Wasn't aware RU-vid lets you upload 120fps, that's cool. I'm still on 60Hz screens though, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ You mention wanting to go full-time. Out of curiosity, would you stict strictly to this video format, or are there other formats you also want to try out? As someone who only wants to do youtube in my free time, can confirm making stuff takes WAY longer - frustratingly more. It's a really really tough route working up to full-time youtube, but as you say, it's a huge benefit to the channel. I always worry that work-life balance could be a complete nightmare. That said, I think you can do it, and hit that nice balance.

I just put alarms up and really get to it. I avoid distractions and try to work as much as possible every single day. I'd usually wake up at 10:30 and workout till 1pm, and then work on the videos till 1am.

Disk space is definitely a problem but when building the PC I went for a lot of space. When a video is done I will usually keep the assets for a little while and then go through them and keep what assets are worth keeping, and delete the rest of them to free up space.

Well if I didn return to low quality videos I would also return to being disatisfied and unfullfilled with the quality that I put out. Plus these videos did not work well at all
