In this video I make and use a tool for removing the springs and servicing the PTO clutch, Hi Lo Clutch and Hi Lo brake on a John Deere Utility Tractor.
The tractors this can be used on are the JD2030, JD2130, JD1640 and right through to the JD3355 etc. After making the tool you will find it handy for many different jobs on your tractor and it even works on loader clutch packs etc.
This is made from things I had in the shed, I did not go and buy anything special for the tool.
Hello Im Lance (aka Bundy Bear) and doing these videos is my hobby. I do own Queensland Tractor Spares in Australia where I sell parts and offer technical advise to customers.
Parts seen in our videos can be purchased from www.queenslandt...
We have a lot more than we can offer on our web site available to us and in our store. If you dont see what you would like please email info@queenslandtractorspares.com.au and we will help where we can.
I do try and help with technical advise at bundybearsshed@gmail.com if you have a question or are having trouble with your project.

Thanks for the video Mr Lance. I normally use a pipe and a press but the threaded rod will save me and customers a lot of time.

Great little tool there lance, i saw in 1 video that the JD tool to do the same job was $200 US so you have saved a few bob. I see a lot of "special" tools that are simple to make but cost a fortune to buy or hire. cheers, Derek

G Day Derek, Yes I imagine the genuine would cost a bit, this is just something I was used to using so i made another one, a finer thread would have been a bit better and easier to turn.

Im doing a balance with the John Deere and the 135 so everyone gets to see a little of what they are following but the John Deere has half the work required so it will be finished first.

You got lucky on that manifold housing normally I find them grooved so bad you can't hardly pull the drum out from the rings hanging in the grooves! I thought for a bit there you were determined to trap your tool under that snap ring. lol

G Day Brian, Yeah Im thinking I have got lucky with this one, as you will see over the next few videos very little wear anywhere, all of the hook rings are serviceable, no wear where they run but at only 3000hrs it shouldnt be worn out either. Bill at John Deere a bit over $300 and old stock parts from my business the same. I might make a few bucks from the youtube videos and come to zero cost long term.

I have a 3130 which the hi low will only work in the high selection what do you think?

Split it behind the gearsticks and check the oil manifold shaft and rings.

Hi Lance, love your vidoes, I recently bought a JD 2130 hydraulic driven 4x4, one of the issues is the PTO does not run under load, it does engage and runs normal if there is very minimal load, have taken the gear plate off and checked the pto actuator valve and the relief valve. would appreciate your expertise and recommendations. Cheers

Possibly pto linings have come loose or a leak, check the hydraulic screen and change the filter for a start.
