Best tutorial yet on a heavy cuff with so many components. The soldering lessons are extremely helpful and the detailed explanations are much appreciated.
Very nice work. I enjoyed the entire video, and the cuff was beautiful. Out of curiosity, how much would a cuff like that go for ? For a guy ? Soldier on
Badazz tut Berta!! Finally got a chance to watch. I would so melt that cuff trying to pic solder with that big torch! Hell, I'd burn down the whole studio! Can't tell you how gorgeous it is & how I appreciate you going into all the detail with your tips. I learned tons with this one! Thanks!💖💖💖💖💖
You are amazing I love the weather do you explain everything and show the different techniques that you use. Your work is stunning and I am so glad that you were able to share your creative side with everyone. God bless you
Outstanding Roberta! I would have liked to watch you set those little garnets too, just to see how you positioned the cuff to set them, maybe another time... thanks for this awe inspiring tutorial girl! You know I am a big fan!
Great video! A very candid look at your process. I love your little one making a cameo appearance ❤️ What diameter is the round pipe on the cuff bender, if you don't mind taking the time. Thanks so much!
Tamara Adams aww thanks doll! If I had room for bloopers though I would have shared them! I’ll compile another video just for them *giggles!* y’all need to see how many mistakes I make when I do this lol!!
Thanks Roberta! So well done as a tutorial and work! Your cuffs are just getting more and more awesome as Richard Barretts are too ! I know you so well I was just waiting for the shot at 1:0142 Beer! Hahaha!
Your such an inspiration and joy to watch!! I have learned TONS from you!!! I have a question are those cuff benders still available?? I would LOVE one. Thanks for all you share and the great music in the back! Love it!!
Thank you for sharing your knowledge. Your video is great. Learned much. Small suggestion - kill the loud music. It is only a distraction from your great presentation. Plus, are you possibly violating some copyrights? Thanks again.
A FAB video(!!!), I'm wondering where those links are for the tools, etc. that you mentioned...Thank you so much. I took lots of notes and wrote questions... I LOVE this level of project, I'm bored to tears with "how to bezel a cab...." Oh, and one question here, why do you prefer air filing and bezeling to using sturdy support underneath? Is it more precise? I've learned SO much from this video. Also, this video has the scent of LKV on it. She suggests yellow ochre for saving joins, if you know her.
Oh! I’ll add them in the comments here in a few thank you!! Don’t waste your time and $ on LKV - most of her projects can be found and purchased from the ORIGINAL artists that she learned from and for WAY less $. (Yes I did make that mistake lol) I suggest looking into Alan Revere’s Professional Jewelry Making book - LOTS of awesome projects! Plus we have a support group on FB for it with his personal guidance as an admin 💕 As for yellow ochre - I’ve found that with proper heat control there is absolutely no need for it. It’s messy and difficult to clean off and really, I can (and have) done this type of piece with hard solder on the rails and medium for everything else without any desoldering. Proper heat control will save you a ton of time and you’ll never need that messy junk again ;)
Lol @ music being old shyt! Sucks when all the sudden our music gets called oldies! 🤣🤣. You've memtioned some places you get stuff and people. I'm just getting back in after a 6 yr out. You need to add links !
Exactly! Hard solder is the best but it takes a lot of heat for that much metal. The risk, is that the amount of heat required may melt the silver so you have to keep a watchful eye out. If you think you need to stop, stop. Let it cool, quench, pickle, flux and keep going. I have to do that at least once putting the rails on these. Don’t be afraid to!
Great vid, Super subject details, not so super shot angles though. Sorry. You might try shooting from your right side, and maybe overhead as well. Stay the course, your good!
Sylvia Yahalom I have this one I’ve used on my Facebook page at m.facebook.com/Oregontrailsilver but they’re also available at www.oregontrailsilver.com 💕
I use Elie Ghanime’s hummingbird holders to weigh down pieces - there is a platinum pick that works great if you’re soldering platinum but not so great for silver. Sorry this is an older video but I’m happy to answer questions here ;) Elie Ghanime is on Facebook and you can message him directly to ask about his hummingbirds! 💕
