Really cool stuff, however, ease up on the edit cuts to the narration, I promise people won't lose interest if you have like half a second of silence in between sentences.
_I was really experimenting with adding synth bass in our original music around 20 years ago. ☠️☠️☠️☠️ More to fuzzy sounds in the background, it made our industrial slam-core music take off. 🇺🇸🌵 It adds so many dimensions and can make a breakdown very bouncy if you use a stabbing bass synth removing everything bellow where sub-bass begins. Very good work with this tutorial!_
@@RichiiWainwright Editing is the hard bit! What can often work is totally mixing up the current pattern you have. Things don't need to be sequential. One option might be starting with the finished track (hook people in), then break down each element as you've made it, and solo those. That way you don't need to work out things on the fly, like where notes are going, or necessarily play the guitar while you're talking through the project, if that makes sense.
Glad I found your channel man.. doing that Reznor kinda stuff ... love it. Those stems he allowed his audience to have free some years back really gave people a lot of insight into his process .. When you could listen to everything separated out it was just crazy. I know you're doing Manson, but it's pretty much the same thing. Dig it. 👍🏻
Thank you! I can’t believe I still haven’t checked out any of Trent’s stems. Totally forgot that he’s put a load of them out for different projects. Thanks for the reminder haha, gotta take a look sometime
Really great video - only nit-pick is the thumbnail, as Marilyn Manson isn't Goth Rock. 90s & early 00's Goth Rock would be like London After Midnight, Corpus Delicti, etc. Manson is mostly industrial-style with various genre inspirations thrown in depending on album/song.
I’ve watched tonnes of these types of vids. The tracks they create sound nothing like the artist. This hits! You don’t muck around. You say what’s needed in terms of ingredients and you move on. Youre a genius.
I agree with the era ideas, from the begining to 2004 were the best sounding years. I've loved MWG in the band always and I feel once he left, the music hasn't sounded the same.
If you're not doing this already, you should sell some of the synth presets you make for Vital, Serum, or whatever you're using. TonePusher's doing it but I think his focus is better geared towards EBM and straight industrial while only dabbling in Industrial Metal. Alternatively, you could release extended cuts of your videos, or going over your template in better detail on a platform like Patreon or RU-vid members.
@@ItsJustaMeNow I’ve been meaning to put a bunch of presets on my site for a while. I will get around to it asap! Extended cut is a great patreon/membership idea! Thank you
@@ShiroiTengu I’m going for a Golden Age style ‘hit’ here. Ginger is great and can be super creative but for the big radio hits he would just keep the beat, no?
I'll be really curious to know what you think of the last two releases from Manson in the last few weeks. Raise the Red Flag and As Sick As the Secrets Within? You are a fan of the same era that I am. It's been a long time since we "Felt" Manson's music *Golden Age*... After watching a small handful of your videos, I can honestly say that you're giving Tyler Bates a run for his money! I wish you all the very best because it's only a matter of time before you land a production deal.
I'm more into the videos than the tracks tbh. It's so weird but awesome that he looks like the old Manson again. And the visuals are just sick. I do like the tracks but they're not mind blowing, personally. That's a huge compliment, thank you. It'd be a dream come to true to produce a MM album. If I ever got a shot I would be so determined to make the best MM album ever haha
This vid ties together 25 years of questions i've had on music as a part time hack - it's the vid of the decade for me and might just help me get to the next level! Awesome man! Kudos! Do you have a rundown of your rig / gear anywhere?
Wow, thank you! I’m glad it’s so helpful for you. I’ve never done a rundown but I guess I could do one, I mostly use the same basic plugins and instruments for everything though. I’d say I have a pretty “less is more” approach with gear and plugins etc.
Great video ! Awesome production ! Golden Age wasn't from his first era at all though, it was already far far away from the raw sound of Portrait and Antichrist !
Great job man, it sounds awesome! , However, you seriously need to SLOW DOWN. People can’t follow what you’re doing if you’re chopping the video up in hyper speed cuts like this. But like I said, it sounds awesome!
Thank you! I use my iPhone to record, and I use loopback to capture the audio, and screen record with QuickTime. Then just layer it all together afterwards in editing. I have been looking into things like obs though because it's way too much work doing it this way haha!
good job sadly ive hung out with manson more than once ..hes not a good being by any means and im being nice his only real talent lies in hiring real talented musicians
Your videos are great , do you offer any services on production? Like a step by step course of what to do ect , I love home recording and feel I could learn lots from you , obviously paying you of course
Technically I don't have any course (yet), or anything like that. But hit me up on my IG or email in the description and we'll figure out how I can help you. I do offer mix consultations where I basically just give you an in depth analysis of your track and a bunch of tips on how to improve it, and I also can work on your music myself if you'd be interested in that!
@@RichiiWainwright thanks for the reply, I'll send you an email and describe the problems I'm facing and how I can fix them , your very good at what you do and I'd be happy to have you help me ,cheers man .
hello bud! Iv been following your videos, thanks so much for the inspiration! helps me push myself.... thankful! I also want to make some fun tracks like you.. Any reason why you didnt get the modern and powerfull GGD ? which one do you think is best for this type of music ( korn, limpbizit, mariyn manson etc) One kit wonder or modern and massive? thanks!!!
Modern and massive sounds great, but just sounds a little more pre-mixed to me than OKW. I like that I can take this kit and kinda sculpt it into whatever sound I want. It’s more raw. I’d say they’re equally good for this style, but modern and massive does sound more modern. Great for post 2010 korn sounds but it’d be hard to make that kit sound like ‘96 korn
@@RichiiWainwright thanks for your insights! any thoughts about doing a finger eleven song vibe? those guys were really groundbreaking in there own way.
@@RichiiWainwright well.. now that you asked me this.. its true that they had some big singles, but the rest isn't that amazing.. not worthy for a video in your Chanel in my opinion. Maybe Filter, system of down, Mudvayne... anyway. You probably have already a next song in mind :)
You are mistaking the synth for the bass tone. A lot of the bass players in the 90's/2000's used fuzz pedals or just added gain to their tone. These days bassists have to separate tones at once, a clean tone with a lot of bass, and a distorted tone with no bass.
