How To Make A Marvel Movie Omnibus - Phase 2 - 2016 Update 

Dr. Strange is really at your discretion to be perfectly honest. Just as long as it falls before Thor Ragnarok. I wanted to spread out Dr. Strange in my Omnibus so I had the very beginning placed at the end of Phase 2 with his recovery (likely taking a while before heading to the Ancient One) spread out over Phase 3.

I have a current MCU Omnibus in 3 phases that includes everything Marvel has put out (films, ABC, Netflix). After every new piece of media they release, I take time to edit it and place it into the Omnibus. The summer always seems to be a down time because there isn't anything being released so there is plenty of time to work on it. Now I'm just waiting for Luke Cage and Dr. Strange to be released. I put all 3 phases up on pirate bay in Jan or Feb but now that Daredevil season 2 is out and Civil War is out and Agents of SHIELD's 3rd season is over, the Omnibus (all phases) is a little different. You might be able to find them on there if you search MCU Omnibus or something like that but I'm not sure how active all of the seeds and stuff are since it was such a long time ago and I don't seed it at all anymore myself.

+Hidde Heikoop Yeah, that stuff I debated a lot over whether to put in. In the end I just didn't care enough about fixing that plot hole from the movie and wanted to focus on the stuff I did like, namely the Daisy/Inhumans angle. But that stuff could easily be included and make a good viewing experience.

+Hidde Heikoop Seems like he left off the 2nd half of the 2nd season of AoS which deals exclusively with the Inhumans. There are plenty of things that can be added into there especially scenes from Afterlife in which they explain more about Inhuman backstories and even include a flashback episode that can largely be placed into Phase 1 before Iron Man 1 and after the Incredible Hulk origin title sequence.

The Comic Archive 2 things. 1: Are you going to make a 2017 update for this? Like for phase 3 (Captain America Civil War, Dr. Strange, Guardans of the Galaxy 2, Spider-Man Homecoming, the rest of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D season 2, & Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D seasons 3-4, & Daredevil seasons 1-2, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, & Iron Fist)? 2: I'm confused with the timestamps. Like when should I start the timer/stop watch? Would it be before or after the Marvel Studios logo pops up? Or is it when all of the studio logos pop up? I don't understand. Please reply.

+Caleb Scott In mine I put the WIRED interview with Darren Cross about halfway through Phase 2 and just one of the WHIH Scott Lang coverages. But I placed all of the recent WHIH releases into Phase 3 before Civil War begins.

+richard waltemath no plans at the moment. Maybe when phase 3 is done I'll try something out.

My phase 3 (which includes edited down AoS and Netflix series) stands at about 52 hours currently. It's quite the undertaking. Phase 1 & 2 were much easier although as more and more films and shows are added there are flashbacks that are being run into that go into Phase 1 and 2. Also, Captain Marvel will take place in the 90s so that will be an entire movie taking place before Iron Man 1 in Phase 1 which should be cool.

+Superball Association Jessica Jones should be included in Phase 3

For me, and this includes a lot of agents of shield, I only included what directly interacted with the movies. For agents of shield this meant the resurrection of coulson and setting up the Inhumans. I really really loved Daredevil, both seasons, but it didn't have any ideas or characters that bleed into the movies. Maybe that will change with Avengers infinity War, but for this edit I didn't include any of the series.

+Mario U (emokid64) For a complete MCU viewing experience Daredevil can be added to this (and to phase 1) but if you want this to be an easier viewing experience, AoS & the films should only be included. This becomes apparent once you start piecing together a Phase 3 Omnibus as mine is already 23 hours long with Jessica Jones s1, DD s2, AoS s3, and Civil War. And there's 13 hours of Luke Cage coming in a few months.

***** People have requested my omnibus' time codes and all but all of the time to save time here and there I make tiny cuts of like 10 seconds here, 30 seconds there and then cut out longer scenes as well. Trying to go back at this point and put together a spreadsheet with time codes would probably take as long as it did to piece together the Omnibus in the first place. I have sent people my complete Omnibus for them to watch through the mail and I did upload one version of it a while ago, but I am probably not going to do that again because i hated having my computer occupied trying to seed for people to get at it for at least a week or so.

+Lawrence Konijnenburg I just placed Civil War into Phase 3. It was quite the challenge as the film really takes place over a few months time frame when you watch and rewatch it and intercutting it with AoS, the end of Jessica Jones s1 & the beginning of DDs2 was interesting. Also, I took the scene with Tony's speech at MIT and placed it before any other present day scenes in the film because it made more sense to me that he'd held on to what the lady had told him about her son and only after the disaster in Lagos did he want to confront the rest of the team.

Ant-Man intro flashback goes into Phase 1 after the Guardians of the Galaxy intro but before the scenes with Dr Whitehall getting out of prison as an old dude and experimenting on Daisy's mom (at least that's how I put it).

As far as where to begin AntMan, it can be fairly subjective. Really the only thing you need to watch for is having the scene where Hank Pym remarks that the Avengers are too busy dropping cities on people obviously occurring after the end of Age of Ultron.

Kent Clarke ya forgot about phase 1 but I think that you could go like an hour in to age of ultron and then start ant man because when Scott breaks into hanks house there's like a month of planning plus it would be more fun jumping from both films so like have the end of age of ultron when Pym breaks Scott out of jail and then finish Ant-Man

x6x batman The way that mine goes breaks the film up quite a bit (mostly because I still have a large amount of AoS in my Omnibus). I start w the Darren Cross WIRED Insider video (from the WHIH youtube channel) a little over halfway into Phase 2 (it's in the middle of one of the Daredevil s1 episodes if I remember correctly). Then a few hours later I have the scene where Hank shows up at Pym Tech for Darren's presentation up to him saying "I think I found a guy" and Hope says "who?" which cuts right to Scott getting punched in the face in prison up until he says that he'll be okay because he's an electrical engineer. I then go back to AoS and then start Age of Ultron because chronologically, AoU really only takes place over the course of maybe a week at the most. Then after AoU I go back to Scott working at Baskin Robbins and then have the remainder of the film intercut with the end of season 2 of AoS. I also have the last scene in AoU cut in the middle of Ant-Man because I feel that at least a few weeks have gone by when the new Avengers facility is getting moved into. Just my take.

+Hidde Heikoop I left out most of Agents of Shield. The only bits I included were parts that directly interacted with the movies which for me are the parts of the MCU that I enjoy the most and what I wanted to focus on here. Otherwise Phase 2 would include both seasons 1 and 2 of Agents of Shield, days worth of material, in contrast to the "paltry" single day's worth of material from the movies. For me this is only about a viewing experience that I can actually sit down and watch, hopefully in one sitting. The stuff from Agents of Shield has also been veering further and further away from the movies since Perlmutter and Fiege had their split.

+Hidde Heikoop My Omnibus includes more of AoS but not entire episodes. Mostly the beginning of the first season was garbage and I left out A LOT of stuff from those episodes. Here and there scenes can be edited to save time as well that don't necessarily damage the overall viewing experience. My Omnibus is split into approx hour long episodes to make viewing more manageable. Phase 1 is 15 episodes, Phase 2 is 30 episodes, and currently Phase 3 is 22 episodes (I will likely be splitting Phase 3 into 2-3 parts simply due to the volume of material being released in the next few years between ABC, Netflix, and film).

Hats true. As much as I truly love this channel it's quite a lot of work and time, and these days I haven't had as much of that to spare.

Everyone can edit their Omnibus as they see fit. Technically Thor the Dark World could take place in any kind of time frame between Avengers and Agents of SHIELD season 1, ep8 because there is really nothing else it connects to and is mostly taking place off of earth (just like Guardians of the Galaxy). If you really think about it, Guardians could take place immediately after Thor the Dark World's credits stinger because there is no ties to anything else that happens within the MCU. So it could take place before Winter Soldier or it could happen during the same events of Winter Soldier and Agents of SHIELD seasons 1&2. It would make sense that plenty of events in the MCU are happening concurrently in different areas of the world/galaxy because if they weren't, then what's stopping different characters from coming to the rescue to help out their pals? I also think that the splicing of the films keeps you more engaged in multiple story lines (like one massive TV episode/season). But as I said before, everyone has their own opinion and interpretation of where things could go for the Omnibus. For mine I have much more intermixing between the films, Agents of SHIELD, and the Netflix shows.

+Chrisflistal There are some parts of AoS that don't fit if you just lay them out in order with when the movies came out (flashbacks with Mack & Bobbi during fall of SHIELD, etc). Some stuff needs to be cut and tossed around a bit. Plus intercutting of the films and shows makes more sense than not. It makes more sense that the characters are dealing with their own things almost at the same time. Why? Because if they weren't then it's conceivable that they'd just go help each other out (with the exception of Thor). Everyone has their own take of the Omnibus, but that's how I looked at it.

Hey Kent. I downloaded your omnibus. I have only skimmed through it but so far I'm impressed by your work. You even included the news clips from Ant-Man which is a nice touch. I'm looking forward to seeing your vision with my family soon. What's your final movie that included and will you change any of the chapters to correspond with future movies? Keep up the great work.

The last movie I added was Thor: Ragnarok although right now I am adding Black Panther. The MCU is an ever changing beast and I change the omnibus as the films come out. Infinity War, for example, has flashbacks that can be placed into phase 1 (thanos & gamora scene). I'd say that around October you will be able to see a complete update with all of the films released so far along with Black Panther, Infinity War, and Ant-Man & Wasp.
