You could put pens on the bottoms of the legs (different colors?) I wonder if something could be put on top that made the robot toter (like a screw nut sliding back and forth on a taut wire...)

In the beginning of the video you show two batteries, in the end you only use only one. Did you initially plan a way to turn the bug on/off? It seems that this isn't possible the way you built it, is this correct? I try to recreate it but the last step is difficult since it immediately turns on as soon as I connect the motor to the battery. I'd like to turn it off without pulling the motor-cable. :)

You should add a switch button connected to the battery so you can activate/ deactivate the current transit just by pressing the button

I love this! But as a forewarning to parents, make sure toddlers do not get ahold of this little robot. Buckle batteries can complete a circuit in the esophagus and will begin eating through a child’s throat. Nickel batteries are the most dangerous of all batteries if swallowed.

The led will not last long because there is no resistor to control the power going into the led so the led will burn out in under a hour

Bought a glue gun years ago and can't find a use for it. Stupid glue snaps off so easily. This would be a perfect use for it. If I only needed to make a vibrating bug....Cool you did it though.

Actually it's not necessary if you wind the wires tight. That should be obvious. 1:28 Also in the US soldering irons can be found for less than $10 Try Walmart or Amazon. com 110V Plug Pencil Welder $7.50 Maybe you're just a kid, but it's incredibly easy for any adult, even a teenager, to get a soldering iron. Did you really think you could build any type of electronic robot without one?

На зубных щётках лучше получалось. Ещё в восьмидесятых такое собирали. Брали моторчик от игрушки. На ось одевали кусочек ластика, он играл роль эксцентрика, четыре старые зубные щётки и одна батарейка на 4,5 вольта. Бегало намного живее. Да, щётки надо было денёк под грузом подержать. Что бы наклон ворсинками придать. Иначе как этот калека на видео, топтаться будут. Два моторчика позволяли поворачивать в нужном направлении.

Im 31 years old and I came across this on accident and I had to build one I had all the parts already in my inventory of electronics and stuff that I use to build mini fighting rc controlled robots for a local robot wars type club that we do battle every Saturday after we race our 1/10 scale rc cars on the carpet track then we pull up all the barriers and lay down a huge sheet of ply wood out up walls around it and have robot wars with little 3lb robots that's the Mac weight they can be and it's so much fun

That's not a robot - that's just a variation of those toys that can be switched on and off to make them move and produce a sound. That being said, it would be lots of fun to make and use!
