@@shaneisrael0608 Yes I've seen a few people ask this recently. I think the best way to do this would be to find a plugin or use an api. I found this one in the bubble forum that you may find useful forum.bubble.io/t/twilio-video-plugin/74421
May you please clarify what the difference is between the $16 BDK plugin and the $349 BDK service, and what implications it may have if it was a multiple build page, would the $16 BDK plugin fix the issue prior to launch or would the $349 BDK service be necessary to do so! please clarify ! ps: wonderful vid BTW Best of Luck on your app!
Hey Jon! Great video btw. How did you ensure the app to display properly on every screen height? I’m struggling to make it look good on every device height wise (iOS and Android) any suggestions?
Only just seen this sorry José. I did have a few issues with this at first. In the end I just added the bottom nav bar as a floating group relative to the bottom of the screen and would hide/show this when needed. Other than that the height is adjustable.
Hi Stephen, I'm just on a legacy free plan. I haven't actually checked for a while though as I've been working full time at a startup. We use bubble and our SEO is good but it took a lot of work/ time.
@@jonbaxter17 thanks Jon. Basically I was assessing your plan because the site appeared quite fast so was hoping it was on one of the cheaper plans (which obviously it sounds like it is) ;). We're starting to use Bubble so it's good know. PS Am I detecting a Midlands accent or are my ears playing tricks on me? We're based in Lichfield (with Office in Hull aswell).
@@zendma1662 Nice, yep sites are generally fast enough but depends how you build them. There are also tools like typesense to help make search experiences faster. Good ear! I've just moved back to south birmingham area.
I found this was a lot easier for me personally and had the added benefit of the BDK plugin. If I had more time I may have explored the Jasonelle option more. On the bubble forum there are talks about a Jasonelle plugin but I'm not sure how far away that is.
Hello Jon, nice video man. I am new to Bubble and was really wondering how you managed to make the navigation bar on the bottom of the screen, it looks really great and solid. I am trying to make something like that but with no succes, can you help me out?
Thanks for sharing your experience, just one thing, maybe you should start referring to this apps as “progressive mobile apps” instead of “natives”. There is a world of difference between those types :)
So i started to build my app prior to integreating the BDK plugin. Im at the point in the app where I need to ingest the users native contacts from their device. So BDK native seems like the plugin to do so. So i have creaed a contact page with in my app and added the 'BN - Addressbook' container to my page. But how do I configure it? Do I have to obtain One Signal and Apple Developer keys first before I can build, configure, and test?
Thanks for the excellent video. Couple questions, how do you set up push notifications? Do you know how to implement advertisements onto an app from say, Admobs for example?
You will need to do the responsiveness. I designed this straight for mobile so it was generally simple. I had issues submitting it to Apple because on iPads the fonts were too small. To solve this I used the condition 'Current page width>400' and increased the font size.
Hello Bro, I need your help do you know any app that creates apps for iOS and Android that have feature like creating an app that will allow me to change something in app and that changed thing will appear in all phones
The BDK native plugin allows you to add features to your bubble app. The BDK native service converts you bubble app into a mobile app with the features you added using the plugin. Not sure that helps but it is worth checking out the links in the info.
When you did your app did you do it on one page and open and close groups or did you do it on multiple pages? I heard you need to do it on one page and open and closed groups in order for the wrappers to work
I did this on one page and set conditions to close groups, this was the easiest way for my app as I only have one main repeating group on the page. But with the bdk plugin you can navigate between bubble app pages so you have the choice to do both.
@@jonbaxter17 a single-page website, that will be a LOT of information on one page, won't it get very messy and hard to maintain? You mention that with the bdk plugin you can navigate between bubble app pages but are there any disadvantages to this method?
Hi Saad, you can find the app here: apps.apple.com/us/app/instatrain-fitness/id1491093156?ls=1 I have a few more step by step videos in the pipeline so will look into doing this one afterwards. Is there a specific area you are looking to learn?
I have a well-running web-based Bubble app. I am now wanting to provide a Pad version and a Phone version which will have slightly different features than the web version. If I create new pages for these Pad/Phone versions, can BDK just wrap those specific pages and ignore all of the other pages in my Bubble app? In other words, can I just make one new fresh page and target that to only be the Phone app? Thanks.
Hi Dan, Yes you can do that. If you only wrap that page and there are no links to the other pages they will only see your mobile/tablet page. I'm not sure it is possible to make the mobile/ tablet version different pages as they are on the same app stores.
@@jonbaxter17 Thanks Jon for your feedback. The nice thing then about doing just a single isolated page to wrap, is that the app still shares the same database as everything else if I'm correct.
I don't beleive the BDK features will work without doing the BDK service. You can certainly get close to a PWA with bubble and the onesignal plugin for push notification. What are you aiming to do?
No, not if you want your own domian. It's free to build things with and host a site without a domain but if you want your own domain and extra feature it has a monthly fee.
@@kidlandia3468 Lachlan Kirkwood helped write the blog posts for the 'How To Make Clone Apps' on Bubbles website. He has a bunch of courses on Udemy for making clones of apps such as AirBnB, Cameo, Trello, Fiverr etc
Sorry dude your app doesn't work and it's not a native or web app it's a website in a webview. This makes your app prone to crashes and leak data... don't use bubble for your android or apple apps
