I have been using this recipe for several months now, and am very happy with it. I did notice staining with the use of coconut oil, so I decided using the powder is sufficient. I also rose geranium, bergamot & rosemary, as I love those scents. I also love the smell of cedarwood, sandalwood & pine, but, had comments if I had been in the woods. geez... NICE WISH!!! LOL! Thanks for sharing!!! Love & prayers

Kathleen Zimmerman no armpit stains by leaving out the coconut oil huh??? Hubby used to like the homemade but hates the pit stains which don't come out in the laundry, so he bought crappy chemical stuff again....... but he gets junk food and hfcs tonic water as well and doesn't seem to be any worse for it..... he also gobs it on in huge globs..... I dab mine on and rub it in and get no pit stains. Straight out of the woods, huh? You can visit me any time, lady , we will talk through a few nights 😁

Great recipe THANK you for sharing it!! FYI- Magnesium Hydroxide powder is oil soluble & is the main ingredient in milk of magnesia. It is so good for you & very drying, pH balanced, detoxifying & I believe it is also antibacterial (maybe because it's so dry). It is used in skincare preparations & cosmetics all the time as a drying agent. MH is a non-irritant, sub this out for the baking soda for people with sensitive skin. I was mindblown by this stuff!!! I use it with arrowroot & it's lovely. I mix just enough coconut oil to get a paste that rubs right into my skin leaving me dry ALL day - even when I'm hot & sweaty my pits are DRY!!!! I wish I had discovered this years ago. It's a total upgrade to your deodorant & it's cheap!! Magnesium Oxide turns into Magnesium Hydroxide in the presence of water/sweat; however, it is not oil-soluble so the hydroxide form is better if you are using any oils.

After experimenting with oils over summer, your blend of orange and clove sounds perfect for the fall. I have made a couple half batches and continue to be impressed with how well this works.

Good tip and you are correct. I have used them before but I found that they leave minuscule scratches that make it harder and harder to get the ink off over time - even with rubbing alcohol, so whatever I cannot get off with soapy water and a dish rag, I prefer to use the rubbing alcohol on.

Hi Heidi, This is a great recipe!! I am so happy to learn about the Arrowroot and/or Tapioca because I had tried another recipe that was just baking soda but it was slightly irritating, so I must be sensitive to it. I like the idea of making a mix. I have one question...how did you decide to use the arrowroot or tapioca? Is there a reason not to use cornstarch? Thanks so much for your guidance!! Thank you!! Love, Mary ❤️😘❤️ PS - Thanks for the tip on removing the permanent ink with rubbing alcohol. I have also found using a bit of oil has helped me remove ink from my lids but then you have to wash it with soap and water. The alcohol trick seems a lot easier and neater. 😀

Rain Country I’ve been so excited about having an easy deodorant alternative! Doesn’t stop the sweating so much but I believe sweating is healthy. lemons are so good for the skin, I’ve even been using it for my acne. It’s working wonders. I wanted something to help treat the acne for so long, and have been hesitant about going to the doc for it knowing they’ll give me a bunch of mumbo jumbo.. as God is laying things on my heart and in the process of renewing my mind, he hasn’t left me hanging! I know it’s no coincidence I’ve come across your channel. Ps. I’ve never tried lemons with salt.. it’s probably not bad! I pour honey on my lemon slices :)

It kinda concerns me to put clove oil on skins. Doesn’t it eat through stuff. Thanks for all your great videos. ❤I currently have made and am using your recipes for shampoo, herb vinegar hair rinse, hair growth oil, tooth powder…..making deodorant powder today.

I was wondering... if the essential oils are just for fragrance, why not just use fragrance oils? Aren't they stronger and longer lasting? Also, perhaps cheaper? I am having trouble finding exact information on fragrance oils. Maybe that is because they aren't made for internal use so they don't have to reveal everything. And you know that "all natural" doesn't mean much. I would like to use them in my soaps and know a lot of people do use fragrance oils in soap making. If only I could find all the information on what they are exactly. Have you considered using them in deodorant or soaps?

fragrance oils are synthetic, that is why I do not use them. I accidentally bought a fragrance oil (it was improperly labeled online). I was suppose to be ordering a jasmine natural oils blend (I knew it would not be 100% Jasmine oil) What I got was a fragrance oil that had synthetic ingredients and it was listed as such on the bottle.

Thank you for answering. I had hoped there were some that were better. They do make some very nice smelling soaps. :(

There could be but I have never looked into any of them, I just use essential oils for pretty much anything I want fragrance in

Isn’t backing Soda toxic
@RainCountryHomestead
@RainCountryHomestead 5 месяцев назад
I assume you mean baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) and it most certainly is NOT toxic, In fact the reason it is called "baking soda" is because it is commonly used in baking breads, cookies, cakes and more. Even those who use baking powder are still using baking soda as it is one of the two main ingredients that makes up baking powder

I really have found the same thing too and keep meaning to talk more about this in another video. I think for us, it is just the habit of using it but yes, when I get sweaty, I like the powder as it helps absorb the sweat and makes me feel more fresh. Times like that, I use it wherever I feel I need it! haha

This is what I have heard but rubbing alcohol is much cheaper to use so I can save my lemon oil for other purposes :)
