For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
Proverbs 3:1-6 KJV
My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments: For length of days, and long life, and peace shall they add to thee. Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about they neck; write them upon the table of thine heart: So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man. Trust in the Lord with all your heart; lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
James 1:12 KJV
Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.

Thumb and elbow worked great for me, over 50 ft of paracord. So much easier to deploy, and truly tangle free. Thank you 🙂

Nice, clear, quick tutorial. Got about 20ft of 550 down to a nice 4 inch long tight bundle. Only little mod I tried was with the caribeaner. I know you mentioned that if you attach one to the original fixed loop it could get caught and unravel but I put the fixed loop back through the finished coil loops, which chinches back on itself. I understand you lose the fast pull release, but it's only one quick extra step to pull it back through and it makes the fixed loop end a little more centered and hang nicely. Cheers 👍

Great video! I couldn't wait to start going through my rope collection and try this. The way I stored my rope before looked very similar, but it always took forever to unwrap. Not anymore! Thanks!

For longer pieces of cord, using the chair legs from an upside down chair works great

@@sharpshooterjd Super old necro comment but, if your out in the bush, using two sticks or trekking poles crossed underneath your leg works too. The beginning is a little annoying but once you get it started it should hold it. THe pressure of you bushing down on the cross will keep it tight.

Nice tutorial. Using my thumb and pinky I was able to wrap 50ft of paracord.

Cool, thanks! I like to wrap round the fig of 8 bundle a few times BEFORE taking it off my fingers (I find this helps keep the structure intact). Also , after experimentation, I have found I prefer putting the loop over my index finger, then using the 'pinky and thumb' method - it makes the coils a little bigger.

This will be useful for the total mess called paracord which lies in my drawer. Haven't even thought of looking at the internet to find a better way to store it. Great method, I'll have to try it out.

Sorry for the late upload guys. I have re-filmed this video like 3 separate times over the past 6 months as I never seem to be happy with it. I was going to post it yesterday, but I ended up re-filming about half of it as it just didn't feel right. So I worked all day yesterday and today on it. And I am finally satisfied :D. Been in the works for a while, and I am very proud of it. Really hope you like it :). I will try to get back on schedule with uploads every other Tuesday, but I can't promise this won't happen again, as I have a really busy work schedule now, and I just have a lot going on. So I hope you will forgive me if I am a bit off every once in a while. I want to make sure I am posting high quality content, and I do not pre-film videos, so I have no buffer. And sometimes things just don't work out as planned. But anyway, this is a super useful trick that has helped me a ton dealing with all of my cord. Let me know what you think!

It doesn't have to hold any weight, so it doesn't really matter. But I know it's a better knot in general.

Nick Lopez Haha, good eyes :). I'm a parkour athlete and I swing on bars a lot. I don't rip often because I usually know when to back off. But I didn't that time lol. It's an occupational hazard in my preferred sports :).

This is only the best method if you intend to use the entire length of rope entirely and ASAP. Because you can't pull out the rope from underneath the smaller coils and then push them back in as neatly. You could tighten the smaller coils with a constrictor knot, but even then that won't help with the part you have pulled out. It could be coiled into a similar bundle so that you would have two bundles joined together. But then the weight of the second coil would unwrap the first unless you would make a knot (before coiling the excess which can't be put back neatly) to prevent that, but that would defeat the quicker rate of unwrapping with your method. Therefore, a better alternative would be to wrap that excess around the then first-and-only bundle. But then again, a knot would be necessary to keep the new coils in place, so again it would defeat the quicker rate of unwrapping with your method. Additionally, the outer (smaller) coils can't be wrapped very tightly around the inner larger coils beneath them, or else that might interfere with your quicker rate of unwrapping, right? Aside from all of that, wrapping the figure 8s at start is really clever, it keeps the rope neater. I guess you can also try using multiple fingers (or poles) to increase the amount of turns like OO to OOO or maybe even OOOO etc. But even with that it is not the best (unless you have a predefined length for a specific purpose).
@undefinednull5749

So overall my method is better because it is neater and quicker to do and easier to keep neat.

You missed the most common technique, thumb to pinky. It gives you the longest hand loop, and is easy. Anyway, nice vid, thanks

and can very easily become the shortest hand loop do to the fact that the pinky is the easiest to lose muscle strength compared to other fingers
