This wasn't exactly what I was looking for, but it definitely helped me to solve my problem, so thanks! I'm trying to make an all white print on a black t-shirt with one grey text character, and I didn't want to use a second screen and ink color, so I have to convert it to white dots which hopefully will look grey on the black t-shirt.
hello Cristina, quick question, i"m always getting those white lines in every pattern i make including this one, no matter how much i scale it up or down...Is there a way to completely get rid of those pesky white lines? tia
Okay, I've watched about 15 tutorials and I"m super stuck. I'm trying to make a repeat polka dot pattern to use on fabric for a project, but when I upload it to the website where I will print it, it's not repeating correctly. Help, please!
Hi Cristina. Thanks for the tutorial. I got a question - so if I make two rectangle where I want to fill polka dot pattern. One red and one black polka dot pattern. Do I have to create two polka dot fill in the swatches or I can use the same one but change colour (i.e. keep the distance/shape etc...)??? I am unable to use fill with just one swatch but different colour. Help appreciated thanks.
This is a bit more complicated. You will have to create a square with one color in the middle of the image and 4 dots of the other color in the corners. They have to be perfectly aligned to each other. It's similar to what I did in this tutorial: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-GtTPxP8z4is.html
@@bycristinasilvia That's not working for me. I have a rectangle with a fill color, red. Then I apply the polka dot swatch pattern, and it replaces the red background. Is there a way to create a pattern with a transparent background that will only apply the polka dots and not a background fill color? Aside from creating a new pattern every time you want to change the background color of an object?
Just drag the pattern from the Swatches panel onto the artboard and remove everything that's outside the bounding box using the Crop tool. It's something you have to do every time you use the Pattern tool and want to save the pattern tile. You can find more details in this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-KanZv8jCNxk.html
