Portable applications are useful. You do not need to install them, carry them along with all the settings, forget about platforms, configurations, settings and most important liscencing.
There are a number of techniques to make portable apps. Thinstall uses an Application Virtualization Technique to achive that purpose. VMWare recently acquired it and the application is now available

@ADIVProduction yes you can update the antivirus but manual because the software will disable the automatic update from the internet you can only update it manualy

I've tried to use this program years ago. They are not stupid. The programs made portable only worked within the boundaries of the trial period.

This looks like it will fix my problems of making Rosetta Stone run on USB Flash Drive. Somehow I can't get it to work on other computers. This looks like the solution.

you should've uninstalled the original package first ;-) so the original REG entries are removed.

So you need to install the file before you can portable it ?? how about I have the file and I don't need to install it. and I want it to be portable :D
