I made my own staf from Al tube lenght is 1.5m ( I am more than 1.90) How much should weight of the staff?? And second question; weight must be more at the ends, or if weight is homogeneous on all staff it will be okay?
@TamedFire

The weight is really up to the user. I try to weigh it as such, so that it is the same weight as the fire staff I own. You want your practice staff and fire staff to handle and feel the same. The ends definitely need to be heavier than it being balanced through and through. The lighter the staff, the longer you can practice, the heavier, the easier, but hurts more when you hit yourself.

@@TamedFire Firstly Thank you for your quick answer and attention. Your videos make easy to learn. Unfortunately I dont have original fire staff. I made only for practice, after increase my skills i can buy a professional staff or I can made. Because of these reason i dont know the avarage weight of 1.50m or 1.60m contact staffs. But if i learn avarage kg of the staffs i can revise my practice staff acc. to this weight. Best Regards.

Hi, How do I calculate what tube height is suitable for my measurements?
@TamedFire
@TamedFire 11 месяцев назад
I measure from the chin to the nose. Mine fits just under my chin but anywhere from chin to nose should give you enough space to spin a rotor in front of you with slight bend in the knees without the staff hitting the ground.

Good clear video. What about using a wood core with snug fit inside the aluminium tubing?

You can do that but not sure what the purpose would be for.

I'm curious. Why not use pvc plastic pipes? They are a lot easier to get in my country.
@TamedFire
@TamedFire 2 года назад
PVC plastic does not have the rigidity that these do. It has a tendency to bounce as it rolls because of this.

@@TamedFire There're some with thicker walls which are pretty rigid...😁

Why not use an actual staff for practice? Just don't light it

Any drops add wear and tear to the kevlar ends. It shortens the life of the heads practicing with a fire staff. Even with covers there is abrasion that happens that will shorten their life. The last thing I want to do with my spare time is rewick my fire staff heads. I'd rather be spinning it. That is why I try to make the practice staff "feel" as much as possible like the fire staff in weight and handling.
