I made this quilt about 4 or 5 years ago for a great niece. I made all the centers various yellows, the corner blocks were various greens, and the petal blocks were assorted flower colors like pinks, purples, blues, . oranges, etc. No two blocks were alike, but the petals and leaves were consistent within each block! I thought it was beautiful! It is one of my favorite quilts!
That’s a wonderful idea! I have 4 granddaughters who need new quilts. I just finished a Hattie’s Sunflower, saw Misty’s take on the Fresh as a Daisy, now this one. Just need 1 more “flower” design to have a unique quilt for each girl but with a flower theme. Grandma’s going to be very busy for a while. Then it’s time for the 9 grandsons. A harder order because they range from 2 to 16. Hard to do a theme.
I love to see these two loves working together as they bounce off each other. They are the best ever !! I hope Jenny never retires personally and hope Natalie will follow in her mothers footsteps. Young people coming up need the inspiration of these two sweet ladies. They are my favorite !❤❤❤❤❤❤
Me too, especially when ironing. I was thinking of purchasing some of that finger stuff that the bank tellers use so I can stop licking my fingers! I think that would work! 😊
Good Evening Jenny and Natalie, So good to see you both. The fabrics are so pretty and this quilt looks so good. I love the colors, a wonderful Spring Quilt❣️❣️❣️ I hope you all have a wonderful weekend, 🥰 Chris
I’ve made this pattern a few times. It’s always been one of my favorites! For the last one, I picked one of the fabrics and bought a little yardage and made all of my center squares that fabric.
Oh this is so sweet and springy (those pastels help with that too!). It's been a little while since I sewed, and this is simple enough to get me back in the groove. Thanks sweet ladies for bringing us this adorable quilt!
I love the Prairie Flower pattern. Thank you for bringing it back with a little refresh , sewing hacks, and beautiful fabrics. I started my Prairie Flower quilt after watching your original tutorial several years ago, Jenny. With a few moves during that time, my WIP was boxed up and hasn't been unboxed. I think it's time to finish that beautiful quilt. Love you ladies!!!
I am always shocked by how easy some of these quilt blocks are to make. Just looking at the quilt, I thought to myself I can't do that. After watching your tutorial, I am very positive that I can do this. Thank you for great teachings. You are both a blessing to the quilting world. ❤🤍💙
I’m,wondering (since I just started viewing this video) if the sizes of the block, pieces can just be cut in half. I happen to really like to work out size changes either larger or smaller. I need to wait till the piece sizes are shown (I just ordered the digital copy!!! So that would help!!!!). It would look cut in other sizes!!! Hmmmmm,………
I made this quilt out of fat quarters and used the extra fabric to make the center of the block match the corners. I’m also thinking it would be a great pattern if you have a print you want to fussy cut for the centers. Great pattern for so many uses!!
Such a pretty quilt. I think at least 95% of the time I sew another line and save my half square triangles. Someday I'll make a memory quilt- and maybe I'll remember what i used the triangles for!
I’ve just made this for my Mum in lovely older looking florals, cranberry and tan and brown. I actually trimmed the corners of the centre with a tiny square of the petal fabric. And Jenny, the other parts on the flower are called sepals! They are the bits around the outside of a flower (think a rose) that look more like leaves than petals.
Love this quilt. Been wanting to make my neighbor a quilt because she is the sweetest lady and she loves flowers. When I saw this I knew it would be for her. I so enjoy watching you both together and your instructions and ideas are so wonderful. The split screen was a nice touch too!
I’m really enjoying the 2 screens, it makes it a whole lot easier to see how you are sewing the pieces together but being able to see you also Jenny. Hello Natalie, how are you doing sweetheart?
I love seeing how excited y’all get about the line you’re working with. And the matching sweaters…. Stop it! 😂Too cute! But, it really is a great pattern, and I need to do this with my Christmas layer cakes! Loving that you are redoing the older patterns with the new ways to do them. Also, the little insert that started popping up when Jenny sews; I love it! 🎉 Happy quilting! 🧵
I "liked" this quilt well enough until I heard you mention it in "Christmas fabrics" .... my ears went up and I LOVE LOVE LOVE that idea. Guess what my afternoon project is going to be??? LOL Natalie looks great ... would love to know how she lost all that weight. Well done and so happy she is happy!!
Wow! A blast from the past - I made this quilt about 5 years ago and it was so cute it went out the door in a flash. I'm having sweater envy...could you reveal where you got them? Thanks!
I just went back to the tutorial for this pattern that Jenny did in 2016. That was a beautiful quilt as well, and it looked so different in different fabrics!
Thanks for the sashing hack, Jenny! Sashing will be easier for me with your helpful hack! The fabric is adorable!!! The dynamic duo does it again! Thanks, ladies!
I love this pattern! I used it some years ago to make a baby quilt for a friend and I was just recently thinking of doing another one with a layer cake I have.
I thought the split screen on today’s tutorial was a very nice addition! Good idea. I really like how clear you make your up close shots because a lot of others’ tutorials waste so much time coming into focus, it can be a bit exasperating!
I would love to see this in a Christmas fabric with a light gray or black background. Well heck, let me just go make one this weekend. Loved the video! Thank you for sharing ladies.
Licking our fingers goes along with licking thread to thread a needle..ingrained in our DNA ! ( put a little sponge in a dish beside your work area.). Great little quilt!
Love it! And you explain it so well while keeping it simple, straight forward, and not over explaining it to keep us coming back to your tutorials over and over again! Either you have it down or there's some great editing. Maybe just a great team. Either way, thanks again for a great tutorial!
I am so excited that you remade this video because I was following your old one from like 7 years ago and I only had five squares left to go and was worried about the size of the sashing strip because it didn't say in the other video. Thank you so much for all your videos! love watching you all. Maggie X
My blocks turned out to be just a hair shy of 14", If I square them up to 13 1/2" (The pattern in your book states 13 1/2"), I will really chop off the flower petals. I'm glad Jenny stated that her blocks were 14". Thanks for all you do for us! Also thanks to Natalie, I now know the flower petals are not to be pointed. Thanks for pointing that out. I was going to make this quilt years ago, but my points didn't work out. Now I understand. LOL!
I really enjoyed this! As a beginner in machine patchwork, this block feels doable yet looks great. The little teaser that you can get a star from this too was fun and made me wonder if I could mix stars and flowers in one quilt🤔💐🌟
