Leah I never tire of watching you quilt. How controlled you are, your soft disposition and your great personality. I feel like you will go down in history as the supreme quilting teacher of our generation. So, Thanks for sharing your talent with all of us!
I got the same Quilty Box and love that you have finished yours already! It turned out beautiful. I have to think about a project for weeks before I start ;-)
I wasn't going to make mine because it seemed too difficult but after watching your video I really wanted to do it. I also chose the flowered fabric to quilt and it turned out so cute that I am doing another one! I used the online tutorial at byannie.com whenever I got stuck and it came together nicely. My coworkers thought I bought it! Thanks for showing this! Please, I encourage you to do more of these because I need the extra boost. Love!
Aw! That's super super sweet! I'm so glad you enjoyed this tutorial and it inspired you to give it a try. You're right - at first glance that pattern looked monstrous, but after you get everything prepped up and ready it really goes together very fast.
Leah, I love watching your videos (and your voice is so relaxing). I just watched an older video of yours on binding by machine, start to finish. I'd like to know, do you prep all your corners (the hand sewing) before starting on the machine. That might be a dumb question, LOL, but I'd like to know. (I was just learning to quilt about a decade ago and then got knocked out of the game by Lyme disease. Next, I am going to actually learn the quilting part. I love the quilting videos you did, you make me believe I can do it. :-) )
+jan pos - Thank you for your awesome compliments! I'm super happy to hear I'm helping you on your path to learning quilting. With bias binding it's not a bad idea to baste the binding in place through all the corners so it doesn't shift. One big tip for bias binding is to definitely starch the fabric 2 times so it's super stiff before cutting the strips and binding pieces. It will be MUCH easier to work with and connect together seamlessly if the pieces are stiff and less stretchy.
I have been waiting to see what you make with your box. I think I will make the pouch too. Mine only came with 2 zipper pulls. Did the rest of yours all come with 3?
I was actually watching a bunch of byAnnie videos this morning. Funny you did this video today, I was so interested in working with the soft and stable. I may place an order and make some totes for my friends for Christmas 🤗
i mentioned you in my unboxing on my channel wishing i could send my box to you so you can put it together for me since there is no way i can figure this out lol :-)
+Sunshine Jennifer Cook - Thank you for the mention! It's actually a really easy pattern, but lots and lots of steps. Just knock out one thing at a time and I'm sure you'll do great!
Another great video Leah! Your Stash and Dash looks amazing. I love the quilting along the flower stems. It makes an awesome pattern on the tear drop fabric.
