Sponsor me with super thanks so I can make better videos 🥰 The difficulty of making a bow from rattan is easier than that of wood and bamboo. The fibers are straight and elastic, and can be easily bent when heated. I think it's good for people trying to make bows for the first time. But the rebound speed of the bow arm is slower when shooting, the above is my idea, what do you think??
I think you are correct. The rattan is not as stiff as wood or bamboo...giving a more soft rebound. However, you are still VERY accurate with a rattan bow. Very impressive!
You could study the craftsman here in Malaysia and Indonesia on how they make rattan bows. Search "busur rotan". Plenty of videos on RU-vid and forum discussions. They even sell them online. Perhaps you could make it using tougher and stiffer rattan like Manau species, or make it shorter but very curved like Manchu bow with string bridge which allows for the snap of extra strength...or maybe design it to a similar dimension of the Japanese Yumi bow which works to increase strength due to it's asymmetrical geometry. Shorter or longer. I'd be interested to see the results because they've discussed similar issue in our community. Rattan bow is easy to make and design but it's poundage and arrow speed are limited to a certain level. Really reliable and nice to sell as cheap training bows, there's a market for that...but difficult to make one for hunting or combat.
Brother, I don't know what is more impressive: your skill at bowmaking, or the ease with which you placed those arrows dead center of target with your new creation. This was a pleasure to watch, you do great work. Đó là một cái nơ đẹp! 🙏🏾💪🏾🏹
I love all your videos and would like to make this one but at the moment in the UK rattan is very hard to purchase but I will keep trying to get hold of some I am making your Bamboo bow at the moment keep the videos coming you are very talented
It is a masterpiece of archery, I did not know that type of non-hollow and compact bamboo wood within the wide range of woods, it is fantastic. A strong greeting and much encouragement, it is an splendid job,👍👍👍👍😀
The rattan can be found abundantly in southeast asian countries too, such as malaysia, indonesia and others. Our ancestors here mostly using the rattan as material for bow making, bcs it is easy to find and also really cheap. But the disadvantage of using rattan as bow material is the poundage will drop drastically (much faster than other type of woods). Just sharing some extra infos😬
Hello, professor, your work is unique, can you just tell me how they make jet bows with the basic facilities? Why is it difficult to make a real model of them? I heard that they make them from animal horns and animal digestive intestines, please explain a little.
This is a beautiful bow. It is alway a pleasure to watch your skillful work. I do have one question. Does the rattan remain strong and keep its weight? Thank you 😊
How to improve your accuracy, for you ! Tilt the bow a little more counter clockwise, [[ to about the 10;30 position ]] so you can look straight down the arrow, then all you have to do is learn how to judge the elevation, and by holding the loaded rm on the same spot on your cheek every time,
