Captain Smooths guide to making a Roots Reggae song. There is no right way or wrong way, this is just my approach to playing and composing roots reggae. Of course, roots has a lot to do with the mix and the persons playing the instruments.

In da island we ah do drum 1st den bassline ah 2nd. Ya mon the foundation of reggae a fe drum and bass. Everyting else ah added after. Dropping all the different melodies. Never seen it done da way before, but it ah still sound I-RE. JAH BLESS.

Great work buddy, bubble is actually the organ on “&’s” with a swing in the first “&” but still wonderful work!

If you dive deeper into rootsreggae youll actually find that the bubble is in between the "&"s. The snare is on the 2nd and 4th beat, with the skank on the "&". Anyone claiming the snare is on the third beat is counting wrong
