MATERIALS NEEDED
-Grafix Clear Craft Plastic www.amazon.com...
-Easy Tack www.amazon.com...
-Wood board (Home Depot)
Acrylic Paint
*IF YOU ARE STAINING YOUR SIGN, MAKE SURE YOU PAINT IT 2-3 TIMES FOR MAXIMUM COVERAGE AND ALLOW TO COMPLETELY DRY BEFORE ADDING VINYL*
1) Open Design Space
2) Make a new project/canvas
3) Insert your image or make a text box and arrange your text
4) Once you have the image/text how you want it, size the image appropriate for your sign size - IF YOUR TEXT IS CURSIVE OR SCRIPT, MAKE SURE YOU UNWELD THE TEXT, MOVE IT SO THE LETTERS TOUCH AND RE-WELD!
5) Once you have it sized how you want, click MAKE IT
6) Select your cut settings - for the PLASTIC, I used POSTER BOARD + MORE PRESSURE (it will cut through the plastic twice)
7) Put your plastic onto the mat - I used the light grip blue mat because it was super sticky and new - feel free to use green if you would like
8) Once the plastic is on your mat, load the mat into your Cricut using the flashing arrow buttons
9) Once loaded, press the flashing Cricut button to cut!
10) once cut gently pull plastic stencil off mat (if you attached little bars to the inside middles of the letters, you're good to go - if not, make sure you use your tweezers to get the middles for your letters)
11) Spray light coat of easy tack onto stencil
12) Stick onto surface
13) Apply LIGHT coats of paint to stencil - multiple LIGHT LIGHT COATS is the trick to no bleeding
14) Remove stencil while paint is still wet
