HERE are the answers on some of the questions you've been asking me!
What I'm using this for? Target shooting only.
Can I use this for hunting? It's not meant to be a hunting weapon,I think it's capable of taking down some small animals like rats or something, but since I'm not hunter I didn't even think about that!
What the string is made out of? The string is made out of fishing string. I'll make tutorial for that as well!
What the bow arms are made out of? It's made out of regular hand saw blade for wood, it's pretty cheap, it cost me less than 1$ to make bow limbs for 2 crossbows!
What the riser is made out of? It's made out of 2mm inox plate, you can use mild steel, but since inox plates are just a bit tougher I used that!
Which material you used to make the trigger mechanism and is that small spring necessary? I used 2mm mild steel plate, it't not necessary but without that spring you'd have push the trigger manually every time you cock the crossbow!
How thick are the pulleys? 1/8 of an inch.
Which wood I can use to make the stock? Since there is no big pressure on the stock, you can use pretty much any type of wood. I used natural hard wood, but you can you plywood as well!

Raduka my friend I've just finished making the second of your amazing micro crossbows. You have taught me so much about the skills required. All your designs are amazing and provide many hours of fun making them and later extremely fulfilling and enjoyable in the usage. Please upload any new micro crossbow projects that you have done.

You must have very steady hands and great eye to get all those angles so right. I am especially impressed with the drilling into the nail with what appears to be a hand held drill. I always thought such precision can only be achieved with a lathe.

Great workmanship skills. As an old machinist I have to drop my two bits : 1. The two circular pulleys could've turned out much nicer if you'd have whirred them in the drill with some axis and sand paper. 2. You should seriously consider buying (or making) a belt sander. !!!

You can buy sprung steel in flat stock from your local metal shop. Would be faster and cheaper then destroying a new blade like that. Also instead of tap and dying you could use heavy duty rivets and they would probably last just as long. EDIT: I assume your a hobbyist and cant afford all the tools necessary but you made due with what you had. Mainly a hack saw and a file. Great job.
@WeaponTutorials
@WeaponTutorials 7 лет назад
Thanks for the suggestions! I'm using handsaw blades just because they are weak, so I can put more layers and adjust the draw weight of the crossbow, and they're not expensive at all. Heavy duty rivets are non removable, at least I'm think so, I've never worked with them so I'm not so sure. I'm tapping holes just because I can later on remove the bolt and disassemble some part once I need to change something! Yes I'm hobbyist, but I started buying some electric tools, of course I'm not able to afford cnc machine, but some tools like drill press are pretty useful and not that expensive!

Why didn't you off set the pulleys so that the string would be slightly above the metal rail and level with the notch in the projectile ? The way you have it the string will be rubbing on the metal and break in short time .Also if the string is level with the notch height on the projectile it will fly a lot straighter . The string will stay in the center as it moves forward. The way it is now its its just touching the bottom of the projectile and once it gets to the end it will cause the projectile to jump up in the air .
