my clipping mask didnt work for the rectangles

You probably fixed it by now, but make sure your smart object, or the rectangles, are right above your word you are using clipping mask for. Like where it shows all of the things you are using for your logo, where it has background and everything else, make sure the smart object is right above the word "Money", or whatever word u are using it on.
