I've been waiting to see part 2 of that workbench and scrolled down to the comments the minute you mentioned it at the end of the video. Great build, love your videos!
Projects like these are like tiny houses! As much function as possible, in as small a footprint as needed. I love projects like these and I dig your cart!!
I love the integration of the craft/project paper into the cart. Lots of great ideas here, seriously going to consider adding this to my shop. Thank you for sharing the knowledge!
I like that you're incorporating clips from the video into your intro. Really smart editing. Local NW Ohio woodworker here, if you need an assistant or just assistance, I'd love to learn from you sometime.
This kind of super-functional, mobile work station is exactly the kind of thing I'm interested as I try to build out my tiny garage shop. Thanks for the helpful video and inspiration to do more with less!
Thanks for showing us that little moment where your measurements didn't work out for that glue bottle. Glad to know I'm not the only one who has those moments
Great job David. A smaller glue bottle will fix that problem. Your look was priceless, I know the feeling well 😊 If I ever have a workshop with an level floor, I will build something like this 😁 ॐ
Awesome! Thanks for highlighting my Squarespace site! That's crazy how uneven your floor is. Man, that is one useful cart. I just put out a video of a lathe cart I made, and I have a drawer for all of my turning stuff. I might need to get some of this foam so that all of the tools can stay put in there.
Know you said (podcast) that shop furniture isn't your cup of tea, but this was well executed. Appreciate you chatting about the different uses you're gonna use it for, and how the features of this was gonna accomplish those needs.
I like the cart. Temps me to build one now but I need to slow down so that I can plan the height it and other fixtures. I need to build a miter station, a new out feed table for two table saws, and redo my router for table. Get it all the same height. Keep up the good ideas.
Man, don’t know how I missed this! Excellent build! This is right in my wheelhouse. My maker space is a one car garage and I have been looking into a multi use work station! I’m def going to use this as inspiration when I build mine!
You've said on the podcast you don't find shop projects inspiring...speaking as a novice, I'm inspired every time I watch you make one. Great vid...Thanks!
I've needed to build an outfeed table for quite some time. I think this will be the kick in the ass that I've needed.....and if the temperature in my shop gets over 40°!
Ohhhh the glue bottle being too tall... feel like that moment happens at some point in every project and you've just gotta take a break, get a snack, and fix it later haha
I gotta come up with some similar solutions for my shop I desperately need some storage and work surfaces that are easier to move around since my workshop and garage happen to be the exact same place lol waiting for part 2!!
Good effort David, I have a small shop (9x9) and was looking to have movable cabinets to make the most of space for different operations. Got some good ideas here. Keep up the good work!
Uneven floors are the very reason my mobile "workbench" (a glorified gardening table with steel legs) is completely bolted together instead of welded. With enough weight it'll flex and "level" itself.
Great video and build! My 2 cents: Simple drawer locks for when you roll it around would be easy, cheap and a great feature. They could be hooks, magnets, levers whatever. Also suspension of some sort for the wheels would help with the uneven floor, but it would be a little bit difficult and cost more money. Again thanks for being awesome!
Why do you in de USA sill use philips head srews? Here in the Netherlands we use mostly torx head srews because they are a lot easier to work with and the does not skip all the time.
ome tinus We use them because Phillips are cheaper and available in more sizes. We do have torx head and Robertson screws but for some reason Phillips is still the predominant screw at all home centers and hardware stores. I use torx whenever I can bur for a shop project, it's drywall screws all day. I live for the day when torx becomes the norm here.
Your content is so good! For the last six months I think you've progressed so much and every video is so enjoyable. Keep doing videos dude, super exciting to watch you build stuff!
Agreed! Such a handy cart suiting so many needs, a downdraft would help hold the material, and the craft paper could cover holes when no suction is used. Nice cart!
cool video as always. I think you might need to add some rare earth magnets to the drawers at some stage, they look like they all want to fly open every time you move the cart.
You could use what you cut off the craft paper to make some sort of wall hanging pull out and tear off note taking station that you can make measurement notes, sketches, or lists for home depot. And then every time you refill you get a two for one.
Awesome build David! Turned out super clean. I love the aesthetic you are going for in your shop even if I am still unsure about the whole carpet thing :P
