Hey, thanks for watching! If you're making a sound library for music producers (a sample pack) you can probably get away with simply using 44.1 or 48kHz to make your sounds. What DAW is the best for making sound libraries (makes it the easiest)? Let me know if you have any questions or just say hello!

24-point sinc (resampling quality) is not the same as 24 bit (sample bit depth). Resampling quality controls how the DAW behaves when it needs to generate new sample-points in between those that already exist in a sound file. This needs to happen when you change the sample rate of a sound, or change its pitch and/or playback rate. (N)-point sinc means that, when it needs to generate a new sample-point, it calculates the position of the new point based on the (N) existing points around it. More points means better estimates of the correct sample-point positions, and therefore less aliasing, but the amount of processing power required increases proportionally with N. Bit-depth controls how many digits are used when storing the positions of the samples in the output file. Sample positions are numbers. 16 bits means each number is stored to about 4 to 5 decimal places. 24 bits means each number is stored to about 7 decimal places. More bits means less rounding error, which corresponds to less noise.

Wow, thank you so much for taking the time to make this comment. I had no idea it was actually that different (let alone different at all). So, do you think it would be best to use a higher resampling quality and then go with 24-bit depth when exporting?

So hey yeah thanks for the video. Since, I want to get into selling sound effects soon, because I've been making tunes for 4yrs. And. I have a question on recording synths, so are you only allowed to make sounds with the stock synth...or is it certain synths I can sample?
@TransverseAudio
@TransverseAudio 3 года назад
You're welcome! Each plugin probably has a different License Agreement so you would need to check to be sure. However, most of what I've come across allows you to sample original sounds made from synths, not presets that come with them (which would also include stock synths I would imagine).

hey, i have a question, if I wanted to give away a free pack, can I do that too? I am just starting off, and I want to start of by giving my stuff away for free at small amounts, and then slowly charging more, and making bigger packs. any advice?
@TransverseAudio
@TransverseAudio 5 лет назад
Hey, thanks for asking! Although I'm no expert, I think you can definitely do that. There are many ways to go about it though, try to be creative and bring to the table a freebie that not many people go for. I went for free content that helps people learn such as videos, blog articles, and other resources. Is there anything else you would like to know?

Great video, very helpful. Got one question, how do you write up a liscence for your sound effects
@TransverseAudio
@TransverseAudio 5 лет назад
Thank you, I'm glad it was. For mine, I just looked at the ones for some credible publishers like Boom Library and Soundmorph. I re-wrote it with some slight alteration to how it was written and what I would consider fair use of my sounds. Just make sure to understand the fundamentals of what you are writing and make its conditions what you would allow when people use your sounds. I'm not a lawyer though, so hey, grain of salt.

How to make a mythological creature sound effects for fantasy movies and video game design such a a Chimera for a example?
@TransverseAudio
@TransverseAudio 5 лет назад
I don't know if I can give you an accurate answer myself. I would say look up "how to make monster sound effects" and try and find a video that matches what kind of sound you're after.
@dragonfire810

`Transverse Audio “How to make a Chimera Roar “was combined with a lion roar very loud mixes with a fireball blast , goat bleats and angry lion snarls, growls and snake hisses .
@TransverseAudio
@TransverseAudio 5 лет назад
@@dragonfire810 Cool, you found a way! Another question to ask is whether or not all roar and breath fire all at the same time. Maybe different actions call for different parts of the beast to make a sound.

Hello, Jake! How are you? I've already seen this video, but I came back to ask you if there is any problem by making a FX sound for my own sound library with an empty present... Like... When you open a Plugin, for example, a synthesizer one, you have the possibility to choose between many presets made by the developer. However, you can't use those presents most of the times, because of copyright situations and other stuff related to it. Although, there are empty presents, patches, you name it, where it doens't have any defenitions inside them... Like... "USER - Init". So, the question is: "Can we use those to make our sound libraries?". I mean... I can't see any other way to make them... (Feeling dumb right now... XD). Anyways... I hope you have an splendid week! It's allways nice to talk with you! See you next time!
@TransverseAudio
@TransverseAudio 5 лет назад
Hey, Guga! I'm doing well, how about you? Yes, you can use the init or default patch and build from that to make sounds for a library. Don't worry, it's not a dumb question. It's good to get clarity on things that deal with terms of use. I hope this helps!

how many samples does a full Sample Pack consist of the ones selling from 100 dollars and more.
@TransverseAudio
@TransverseAudio 5 лет назад
It's not all about how many, rather how good they are and what their intentions are. They can have less than 100 sounds or more than 1000. There are many factors influencing the price.
@alexiz.7569
@alexiz.7569 5 лет назад
@@TransverseAudio so in your opinion how would you classify a good pack by what factors
@TransverseAudio
@TransverseAudio 5 лет назад
@@alexiz.7569 Well, by factors I meant it could be at a lower price to attract clients/customers, for publicity, to dump sounds that aren't as good as the rest of your work but is still sellable, to get testimonials and build reputation, etc. It's so hard to talk about what makes a sample good, you'd have to hear it. Even something that isn't as good in quality could sell for the same or more price depending on whether or not the creator wants to make a premium brand. It also depends on what their for, such as film, games, commercials, video, music producers, podcasts, etc. What kind of samples are you making?
@alexiz.7569

@@TransverseAudio This is very interesting tx for speak to me. I am a alternative artist composing my own singles but im looking into doing samples for exstra income full time. So i am still trying to learn and understand how you go about making a sample pack. I have never baught one or used a sample pack before. But your info is very helpful to me regarding this subject. Last question if you finished recording samples and you now need to make the sound do you make each sample in a separate line and use the fx window for LFO modules to modulate to the sound you want or do you insert the module onto the sample and keep all samples in one line with spacings?
@TransverseAudio
@TransverseAudio 5 лет назад
Cool, that's a good plan to have some extra income. When making samples, you would have to be careful about copyright if you're recording something that you didn't make, even if you're using samples someone else made, with some you made to make a single sound. - Could be restricted by the license as well. What you would typically do is put each sound on its own track in the mixer and the playlist, then add effect plugins or use the fx window to modify the sounds the way you like. Lining them all up in the same line is for when you want to make a demo track to show off some of the sounds that are included in the pack, for example, this demo I made for one of my packs: transverseaudio.com/products/digital-ui I hope this helps, let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks for asking.
