It's essentially an afterburner without a turbine. Compressor stage is purely electric (just a fan).

Notice the delay from when it starts moving, to when the engine supposedly starts producing thrust. It's just a electric motor, the "jet engine" is just a flamethrower and doesn't actually produce the thrust. There's a motor attached to the wheels.
