How to make a simple water filter project for school 

Could you explain how it works though?

This is easiest water purifying projet in the whole youtube ,i tried this and it worked it took a few seconds to change the dirty water into clean water(looked clean)

So, with garden soil you try filter? You just add bacteries at the end of the process. :-) Please use clean and powdered charcoal instead.

I don't think the soil is a good option for the filter. I agree with the cotton balls, sand and gravel. Activated charcoal would be a better substitute for the soil. Most other filters that I've watched make their dirty water with the soil, not use it in the filter.

Question: Would a coffee filter work because charcoal is very limited in the areas i live in. Like maybe it would be the final step where the water falls into it.
