Excellent video - straightforward and simplistic and you explain every step and why you do things in that manner. I look forward to watching your other videos.
can you tell me the thickness of this glass? I am thinking of using a tempered glass shower door 10mm for a skylight in my school bus conversion,. Thi video really helps.
Thank you Mr Hodges, Well Done Engineering w/o all the usually jargon/pretentious. Pls give-up the cigarettes because folks like me would like you around & kickin for as long as possible. Thks again PS: Your southern accent/slang is a lot like poetry. I wish I still had mine.
i made one using a 3/16" sheet of plexi or polycarbonate(it was free; not sure what it is. think it is plexi.) on my garage roof for about 4-5 years now. big maple overhanging it and dropping branches. glass would have been broken by now. also simple to cut to any dimension you want...also slightly better thermal properties than glass, if that's a consideration.
makes me anxious ... this isn't a video for novice as mentioned .. Why double framing ?! is there a reason or just lack of material , whats the purpose of the second plank fitted inside at 6:10 ?! ... if the two sides will get wet , they will draw moisture in between .. Correct me if im wrong
Best comment at the 4:40 mark “you don’t want something stupid sitting on your roof”....... too late Jethro! Lmao. How much mold has built up in that skylight of your? Leave it to the pros.
