Loved the video! I’m now sitting here in my new skirt that I thought was going to just be a muslin but it turned out to fit so well that I hemmed it, threw in a zip, and faced the waist. Yay me! Yay you for making me think this was doable. Pretty please do a princess seam bodice next! I just bought a very expensive pattern, whipped it up based on the size the calculator the website said to make... its HUGE! Help? *whimper There must be a better way! Thanks for a great video!!
Yay for RU-vid recommendations! I've always wondered exactly what a sloper is, and you explained it beautifully. Eagerly anticipating an alterations video, and a bodice (with princess seams #fingerscrossed) video 😊 Once I have my sloper, how do I then use it to get a better fit from purchased patterns? TIA
Hooray 😃 That’s is great question! Of course there’s many ways to use your sloper with commercial patterns. I will try to mention some in up coming videos. But one easy thing you can do is use your darts. Transfer the darts from your sloper to the commercial pattern. You can also use your hip shape. But the pure magic 🪄 of a sloper is you can make your own patterns for clothing from your imagination. And get exactly what you want.
This video is excellent! Very clear directions and fit info! So looking forward to info on drafting a front and back bodice and how to use the blocks to design garments. I have been using an old book by Claudia Ein, but it doesn't delve into how to draft the blocks so your video has been most helpful!
