I have a wetter area. Broadcasted soybeans and sprayed 1.5 oz round up. Got rain 4hrs later than 3 more rains in 5 days. They threw roots into soil. Hope the 12 Inch weeds and grasses protect beans until they get some size. Added little buckwheat and red clover to protect against browse pressure

Insted of weighing seed, I take a measuring cup (fl.oz.) and pour the new bag slowly into the cup a little ar a time. I transfer it to the tote, noting how many total fluid ounces are in the bag. It is now possible to convert the total bag size (acre, 1/4 acre etc.) Into total fluid ounces and use that conversion to scoop into the bag when the plot size has been determined. I also convert my small plot sizes into qubic yards vs acres to eliminate using fractions as much.

I’m new to hunting. I have 13 acres of wooded land and see deer all the time. If I build one of these, does it matter if it’s too close to a bedding area? I would imagine so

I like my Hidey Hole plots next to bedding areas as long as I can approach without alerting deer in the bedding cover. It's important to consider wind direction, etc.

I just found your channel and im working on my 1st 2 plots since may. What were you planting in late may june? I planted buckwheat after spraying and the deer just browsed that down and didnt let it get higher then 5 inches so my plot weeded out in spots. I disced up half and planted brassicas on that half about 3 weeks ago and I sprayed the other half a week ago that im gonna broadcast my cereal grains of winter wheat and rye. Can I mix clover in with that side?

You can certainly mix clover with the small grains! I planted the Super Summer blend from GreenCoverFoodPlots.com during the early summer this year.

How long can you store the seed in totes? If it's possible to store the seeds for months in totes that would definitely help me with storage space until I plant. Thanks for the videos and information.

Seeds can be stored for months (wide range) if stored in a cool, dry place. Most seeds are harvested, cleaned, and stored for at least a year until they are planted.

What size range do you consider a hidey-hole food plot? We have a couple fields that are around an acre; most are smaller. Just wondering...

Good question! I like small hunting plots to be 1/4 acre or so, but there's no rule. Often size is more of a factor of producing enough forage to attract deer for longer than a few weeks.

What brand of glyphosate are you using? I searched 2% and couldn't find any.
@GrowingDeerTV
@GrowingDeerTV 2 месяца назад
I use the least expensive generic I can purchase. I didn't communicate well glyphosate is sold at about 43% active ingredient. The 2% means to use that product at 2% If your sprayer holds 100 ounces or 100 gallons, add 98 ounces or gallons of water and 2 ounces or gallons of glyphosate.

Tractor supply has a 53.8% that's always on sale. I do 2 ounces per gallon which is 8%

Did I see the person backpack spraying walking into the area where he just sprayed. Shouldn't teach people to do that. Unhealthy..fyi
