I've been scrolling through looking for an easy drawstring bag tutorial, and this one is the best. Easy and very well explained. Kicking myself for wasting time looking at others. Laura you are one of the greats. Thank you.
Laura this is the best and easiest drawstring bag, I made 7 for laundry bags at Christmas as my family all go travelling, I even made my granddaughters friend one as they were going overseas together. I hadn't made myself one so I have just done that finally, I just use up large scraps. Thank you Laura.
Your things always have such nice finish! Beautiful, easy to make, lined, nicely finished, any size you need - this is the perfect drawstring bag tutorial! Thanks, Laura!
My first bag, and just in time for Christmas! Your tutorials are brilliantly done. Thank you, Laura! I look forward to following your projects in the future!
Absolutely love this bag. This looks to be the easiest one to make that I’ve seen. Yet the nicest one. Thanks for yet another great idea and well-explained!
So great!! And timely for summer picnics and beach/trips to park. Then there's Christmas gift time. Thank you, Laura, for adding another idea to my gift giving. Just the bag is great. . . with something baked is even sweeter.
Just made a bag following your tutorial. I LOVE it! Thank you so much for your clear instructions and explanations. I'm choosing the fabrics for my next bag right now! Thanks again.
Laura, I have become obsessed with watching your videos! You explain so thoroughly! Thank you for all your hard work and the team that helps you! I love these bags and am going to be making them for Christmas gift bags and some little darling dolly and blanket bags for some little girls!
Your tutorials are simply outstanding. Everything about your presentations are so classy, enjoyable, educational and fun. Please don't ever stop uploading!
I just made one of these bags and it's awesome! Your directions are clear, concise, and and beautifully articulated. I am a huge fan of your tutorials!
YAY! My daughter just bought me a sewing machine, so you know I'll have to make some bags now...😉 I love your videos; your tutorials are awesome! Thank you!!! 🥰
Thank you for this tutorial. I made a large bag to "wrap" a shower gift for my niece. I did a bit of patchwork on one side, and used some fabric from my stash to make much of it.
I've done other bags but this one is the best and easiest! Thank you so much for showing the glue method! What a time saver! Makes it a much cleaner look!! Thanks again! Love your tutorials!!
Thank you so much! This is simply wonderful! My kid's school uses many bags to help kids organize their stuff .... gym bag, Art bag, lunch mat bag, shoe bag .... you just name it! Now I can tone down the fancy designs/motifs by using them as linings for the bag :)
I’ve made two of these over the last week, the tutorial was perfect. I tested it out on a small size first (made a perfect sized bottle bag) then went on to make large laundry bags, with names added using my embroidery machine. I really enjoyed making them and will definitely be making more. Thank you so much for the great tutorial. One thing I realised though, that you have to be careful not to glue the two sides of the casing together when turning the seams back. I found that putting a thick pen into the opening worked really well to keep the two layers apart 👍😁
Thank you for a great video. I wanted to refresh my memory on how to make this kind of bag since it’s been awhile. Your directions were very clear and I liked that you added the piece at the end about sizing. The other thing I liked was the fact that you mitered your corners! I rarely see people doing this any more to their bags, but my grandmother would roll over in her grave if I didn’t miter and square up my corners for a neater look. Thank you 😊🙏
I love how this is reversible. A great way to use my scrap fabrics. Thanks for another excellent video---your directions are so complete and easy to follow.
Good and clear tutorial, thank you. I just made a lovely bag for my daughter’s marbles. It turned out so well that I’m now looking for an excuse to make another.
Thank you for your creative sharing! I just made two of the storage bags. I have lots of fabric, and I plan to make more bags as "give aways" to folks who will enjoy using them. You are a great teacher!!
Hi Laura, this is the easiest and best drawstring bag method. Just love it. There is no fussing about and as you mentioned one can play and create whatever (lol) for the outside fabric. Thanks.
I have only just taken up sewing , I’ve never done anything like this before , thank you for explaining things so simple ,I’m really grateful and am enjoying creating thing out of bits and bobs blessings to you
I just love your how to make bags. You have the best instructions how are you talk through it on each step that you make is great because there are a lot of people that don’t understand when somebody’s just pointing it out would you go further you explain it out it makes it a whole lot better. I think you so much and I’m gonna be looking for some more of your how to make items. Thank You 🥰
I've made a couple bags for travel dirty laundry based on your instructions and personalized them with embroidery. For the next one I will put handles at the top, for easy transporting. Thank you for the great video tutorial.
Thank you Laura this is just what I need to make for storing our lovely fresh from the garden Irish potatoes! While I'm about it I'm going to make some for other veg and fruits and a couple for laundry. God bless from vera in Northern Ireland
My sister just asked me for one. Great teaching and clear and slow enough for us to follow. A funny thing I used, to pull thru the string was a bracelet buddy (an alligator clip with a stem to hold a bracelet to put on yourself while it holds the clasp) Thanks for posting this.
Thank you for instructions that cover all details of making these wonderful gift or storage bags. I have made over 30 of them so far.....in Christmas and other patterned fabrics.....so have some for other occasions of gifting. Thank you
Thank you so much. I was looking for some bags for gifts. This will work great. It is nice to give something that has a wrapping that can be used again.
I love your technique. I tried other ways on how to make string bags but your technique is ghe best. I have made at least 10 string bags in the last 2 weeks. I have used your technique. It is just fantastic. I love the reversible idea.
I have just made a young lady really really happy. I made this in a flamingo fabric reversible fabric in butterflies. Thank you so much for your awesome tutorials. Just to let you know I also made the large beach bag as well for my daughter. You are fantastic at instructions...
Fabulous method. Easy to follow. I have made a half dozen small bags mainly using my 12" quilting squares since you published this video although it took a couple of attempts to get a directional pattern the correct way up around the bag and to match stripes.
Thankyou so much for your tutorial, I am making some much larger sizes of these for my daughters who are nurses and their workmates. They need to change at the hospital these days and need to encase their scrubs in a bag that can then be washed as well. Thanks again.
I was looking for a tutorial for an easy drawstring bag. I saw several, but they seemed complicated and directions weren't straightforward. Then I found yours. Thanks so much for making it simple and easy to follow!
