******Make certain to follow proper food safe practices if using for cake decorating purposes.******
You will first see how to use The Confectionery Gallery's realistic petal templates and how to use them to cut out your gumpaste Magnolia petals. You will be provided instruction on how many to cut out for each gumpaste flower you wish to make. Be sure to use the color wire as instructed if and when instructed to ensure minimal if no wire see through in your Magnolia petals.
Since the petals in this sugar paste flower are thicker than perhaps many sugar flowers, make sure to also follow the appropriate dry times for your petals to ensure stability when assembling. Since these petals are also fairly larger than normal, we have used a unique way of creating appropriate 'cup formers' that perform the task of cupping your Magnolia petals in a realistic shape - we devised this manner from having no petal formers on hand that were big enough for the petals in this gumpaste Magnolia tutorial.
No molds are used for the sugar Magnolia center. The key to creating a realistic center and to this gumpaste Magnolia in general is in the small details - in the center's case - paying attention to making the right sized cuts as instructed. You will need no thread to create the bottom portion of your sugar craft Magnolia flower.
As with other realistic Confectionery Gallery sugar creations, paying close attention to the right combinations of petal dusts is also essential for a good realistic sugar flower.
You will be able to make your Magnolia leaves with no cutters - but you may of curse use cutters for either the leaves or petals for instance - paying close attention to how to form said items and to the petal dust combinations respectively.
You will add finishing touches to your sugar Magnolia by petal dusting the branch and stems as indicated, one of the many small details that really brings this sugar Magnolia to life.
