@@csquaredboxingHi Carlo do you think that these tyres bolted together would take the weight of say a 100kg punch bag sat on top of them ? My idea as my walls are to flimsy to take a bag of that weight My current bag a 50kg 6ft bag sat on the ground but tall enough to still hit eventhough on the ground Anchored in to the wall to keep it steady .. thankyou for your reply...
Protip: Pay the tire shop 5 bucks or something for them to paint the tires for you. That way they'll be black and not look so used. I do this for customers at my shop who want to make things out of the tires.
Holy crap people! So many asking "will this mess up your gloves?" watch the video- 7:55 this 'bag' WILL chew up your nice gloves, so use a pair you dont mind getting eaten!!
If I may suggest a variation that requires nothing other than a couple knots. I like to practice kicks too so normally I triple stack tire like this: low, mid, high. But for boxing you just need 2. I dont use padded gloves (just garden gloves and I have never in 4 years got a single bloddy knuckle or scab) and started with small car tires, like a Celica and ow moved up to full sized truck tires (sometime lowpro tires). I found that this configuration helped me advance my foot work, as it forced me to 'chase' my target [area]. I believe an added benefit is that I can miss if I am off, so I have learned how to adjust after missing (I think). I tie the top so that it is just above my nose when standing. After I have that set up, I tie the mid so it can rotate individually. I believe this forced me to have to choose which target is a better shot than the other on the fly. This is a really good idea Carlos. But since the surface of the tires are very rough wouldn’t you wanna put some type of foam around them to help protect your gloves? Unless you’re using cheap gloves so it wouldn’t matter if they got ripped and started peeling
Using tire bag for months/years using twins airflow 14oz, doesnt scratch my glove maybe due to the tire being old but it is my favorite bag due to its crispyness unlike a canvas punching bag
Hi Carlo, very innovative type of punching bag. Keep up your great work on your boxing videos and fighting training apparatus. Whenever you have a chance, can you please evaluate the Century BOB punching bag? Thank you again for your boxing videos. Kenny Unpingco
Awesome video man! I’ve made my own tire punching bag but I’m trying to figure out how to mount it to the wall or roof of my garage. The chain you have hanging from the roof - how did you secure it to the roof? And, any worries about it being too heavy?
Did this but with zip ties instead of nuts and bolts. Probably not gonna stay together as long but on the other hand it's literally a free punching bag. Thanks for the tutorial.
I reckon the treads aren’t the best for the leather especially synthetic gloves and metallic leather gloves, however you could always wrap some duct tape around it.
Tyler Wilkinson yeah it was released just a few days ago. Ryan Garcia’s team brand, fierce reflex, just released them in multiple colors. Waiting to see some reviews on the product.
