My goodness, I found this dear soul after she crossed over and I didn’t realize it until I saw a video her Son posted. She gave me and I know countless people comfort. I pray she knew how much she blessed people. May you and your Mr. Bucky journey well. Thank you Phyllis Stokes for blessing this stranger. Love and peace to all you left behind.
My grandmother used to fix tomato pie. It was so good. I sure do miss her. Thank you, Phyllis! Wish I’d discovered you when you were still with us. How lucky the world is to have your videos. Quite a legacy. ❤
Glad to see I’m not the only one that comes back to watch Phyllis when life gets the better of me and I need something comforting. Watching these videos is like sitting in my grandma’s kitchen watching her cook ❤️
I am making this for my in laws for their first dinner at our house. I hope she would be flattered. 💖 We sure do miss her in body, but we are so thankful she gifted us with her love for good food. Our bellies and our hearts are still being filled by Mrs. Phyllis. 💖
I miss your soothing voice. I’ve learned so much from you. I love tomato pie. R.I.P. Miss Phyllis and Mr Bucky. So happy you’re carrying on her recipes & your own.
My third year watching just one more time. I make this pie every Summer and forget to write the recipe down. Maybe I just want to see video again. She is definitely missed.
How I just love seeing and hearing Phyllis and Mr. Bucky just like when they were here with us💞 I never tire of watching and rewatching them! Her recipes are so delicious!
Wish God could bring that rose back! I also found her late. She was/is a 💎 gem! And such a awesome teacher for beginners at cooking! And even if you know how you can still learn something from her, we all miss you LADY!😪
This was a wonderful couple. I will watch their videos and their sons as long s they stay on you tube. They are so missed and so happy too still be with them all though they both are gone now. R. I .P Mr. Bucky and Mrs Phyllis. :-(
Can't wait to make both of these recipes! Just love to revisit with Phyllis and Mr. Bucky! They're such a sweet loving couple! Thank so very much for keeping their channel alive! God Bless you!
Hello Phyllis, I used this recipe to make a tomato pie after watching it and it turned out beautiful and delicious! I used Parmigiano Reggiano and Gruyere cheeses instead of the cheese in the recipe. Everyone loved this recipe. Thank you for sharing, this is for sure a tried and true recipe!
I always wondered where they ate their meals (only saw their plates on the counter, not at a table) and now I know. Mr Buckey likes his recliner and they must have watched TV while they dined. Reminds me of my dad!💕
I honestly don't know how many times I have viewed this video just to assist when I made. Here I am again. This is delicious and so far the best recipe I have found. Miss Phyllis, you are missed by so many of us.
Mr.Bucky finally got that tomato pie he's been asking for! You're so good together. It's a pleasure to watch two people who have such a heathy and happy relationship share time, love, respect, devotion and wonderful stories. I'm so happy y'all are telling more stories, I do adore them! Thank you both for all you share with all of us.
I miss Phyllis so much. It was so relaxing to watch her videos and her voice was so soothing to me. Rest In Peace dear Phyllis - I will continue to watch your videos and am very grateful to your son for continuing on your legacy! Thank you so much
I wish I could have met your Mother. I loved cooking with her. I still get to.She reminded me much of my Mother. The way she moved and talked.Steve keep show going .
Keep The Change Mr. Bucky passed last July. Phyllis came downstairs to start breakfast and Mr. Bucky was in his chair. After a few minutes she realized something was wrong. He peacefully passed. About 6 months later Phyllis passed from cancer. 💔💔
GrannyLaLa 1960 Oh wow. They both seem like such peaceful people. The world has gotten so hectic. Therefore, the Lord saw fit to bring them home. I’m happy to have found this channel. 😊❤️🌺 May our Heavenly Father allow their souls to rest.
"Once a week. Okay that ain't gonna happen." It makes me chuckle each time I watch this video. Yes. This is a favorite for me. I bought tomatoes. I just have to decide when to make this. I want some yesterday, with bacon.
Watched your son make it just a short while ago now watching you make the tomato pie ... I have to make it myself it looks beautiful and we do love tomatoes 🥰 Miss you girl 💕
Thank you for sharing your recipe for making pie crusts, tomato pie and kale salad. My wife Carolyn, North Carolina born and bred, and I grow our own Kale here in Winston-Salem and she's always looking for kale recipes. I really appreciate your showing how to make a great pie crust without unnecessary complications. As for myself, I was conceived in Augusta, Georgia, born in Brooklyn and raised on Long Island but was blessed when the Army brought me to Texas where I first discovered entered the United States. Too many years later, after being saved at a Billy Graham crusade and at the first opportunity, I moved back to the United States where I became a Southern Baptist, met my wife and have lived the good life for nearly 25 years. Thank God for good southern women.
Wow I've sure become a fan fast. I was born in 1953 and so much of what you do is nostalgic for me. I love your fun relationship and your realness as a person/woman. So refreshing. Oh! And this tomato pie sounds REALLY good!
I haven’t watched Phyllis for awhile. I guess I was too sad to watch. But it’s been awhile now, and I didn’t realize how much I was missing her. Such a pleasant personality. And good cooking! ♥️💔

I use her recipes and feel like I'm cooking with Phyllis. I sure do miss her. Btw.. the way she made this, was perfect. One of my southern family's favorites!
Thank you Phyllis! Your recipes are so classic and remind me of my grandma. I just adore the peaceful way you speak and how easy you make cooking! Bless you!
I follow this recipe and love it! I wish I had commented sooner to let Phyllis know how much I love her videos. Im reading some comments that she's passed on. Love and Light, Mrs. Phyllis Stokes.
I made this right after watching Phyllis make it about 2 or 3 years ago. It is absolutely delicious and I can't wait for my 'real' tomatoes to get ready. I love you and miss you Phyllis and Mr. Bucky. You're a part of my heart!
I'm late finding your channel but so glad I did!! Hands down the best on RU-vid! Your fur babies are beautiful Phyllis! Going to binge watch your videos this snowy weekend! Blessings to you and Mr. Bucky.🙏🐾❤
I've made tomato pie before and just loved it but the crust was soggy! Thanks for the fabulous tip of the cheese on the bottom. I used homegrown tomatoes from my little herb garden and fresh basil. It took almost all of my tomatoes and basil but was SOOOO worth it. The recipe I had before coming here called for the addition of bacon pieces too!!! Yum - who doesn't love that. But I'll be taking out the additional juice of the tomatoes as you do here and prebaking the crust and using the cheese as a liner to keep it crispy! Thanks for a great recipe. All my neighbors loved the last pie - they're all going to freak when the taste the next one with your great tips!!! Thanks so much - RIP
I love your videos on cooking. Its like being with my Mom in the kitchen again. (I miss her terribly) So THANK YOU Phyllis for being there, when I need Mama that cooks. I think you are very calming to my soul... I wish I could give you a great big hug! ... I grow my own tomatoes that are so delicious .... sadly the tomato season is over. Your husbands taste reaction convinced me... Haha I am defiantly making this as soon as I find some good tomatoes in the store. May God bless you both!
I agree you are so very peaceful which is making me feel peaceful!! God Bless You!! This recipe is so great looking!! You should open up a Bed and Breakfast and cook for everyone!! You'd have many many visitor's and I'd be one!! Thanks for all of you wonderful recipes and videos!! Mike from New York.
2/1/20: I think I watched this video in 2016, and vaguely remembered this dish from years ago and since our tomato garden was in, what better time to make it! It was beyond delicious and my husband loved it! I made 2 and took one to my cousin and her husband. Needless to say it was a big hit! We all have a treasure trove of wonderful dishes to choose from and every time we fix one, Phyllis and Mr. Bucky will be with us!
Phyllis, I'm commenting 12 into the video. My mom used to make pie crusts back in the 70's and 80's for her pies but, now she buys her pie crust. Wish we could go back in time to the good old days. Now I'm going to finish watching your video.
Yummy. I love tomatoes. Thank you so much for sharing. Awesome recipe. 💗🌻 Your husband is a Blessed gentleman. You are one amazing cook. Love your fur babies. God Bless all of you. So much enjoy your video's. Sweet.
Listening to you talk is so calming. You have an absolutely wonderful way of cooking and explaining your methods. I thoroughly appreciate your way of everything you do. I can hardly wait to try this recipe. I'm a single disabled father and I'm trying to think of things to make that are different. And by Bucky's reaction, there's nothing better than this. Thank you immensely all the way from Michigan!! God bless!
This video is such a beautiful reminder of how much Ms. Phyllis & Mr. Bucky loved each other 💝💙. Her pouring her love into cooking for him & him loving every bite of it 😊! They are both healed & together forever now 💝✝💙! So thankful to have these beautiful memories of them together 🙏✝💝💙!
We'll always love you and appreciate all you taught us and for your blessings on our lives. We miss you so much our dear friend! God bless you, dear Mister Bucky, YOUR FAMILY!
I just took the Tomato Pie out of the oven. (used your recipe) I wish I could post a picture...it is beautiful! I had never heard of this dish here in Texas but once I saw the video I knew it was calling to me to make. This would be awesome to take to a Church Social. I do remember at one of our Socials in North Carolina, a parishioner had made something like this only without the crust. I never did get to try since it was gone before my turn came. Thank you so much for all you do...it is greatly appreciated.
This looks delicious and I’ll defiantly be making it very soon. I know her family misses her dearly. I don’t know her personally but was so sad to hear of her passing 😢 You definitely get connected to certain channels. I love all her content. Seemed like such a genuine person ♥️
Hello Mrs Phyllis! I came across this recipe for your Tomato pie I have almost the same recipe! In my recipe the tomatoes are cut into wedges and the basil leaves are chopped fine and mixed with 2 garlic cloves that are also minced fine and there is no flour with the mayo just the parmesan cheese. The addition of the garlic really adds a great flavor to the pie. This is one of my favorite recipes to make in the summer when the tomatoes come into season. Just thought I would share that with you!! Have a great day and looking forward to more of your great videos and advice!!!
I’m a huge garlic fan so it goes in pretty much everything! So I’ll add your little addition and tweak it just a tad. It’s heaven on a fork! Love watching this lady cook. Her recipes are very similar to my deceased Mother and I loved cooking with my mom! There’s no substitute for Cisco or Lard!
I so love watching and listening to Miss Phyllis' cooking videos(her realness.., her calm voice of instructions, her skilled hands and arms at cooking, her lil' belly, in her t-shirt, lol, reminds me of my recently deceased younger sister who loved cooking for all of her family!) I'm so happy Miss Phyllis shared so much with us here on her channel! I also like how she said "this is not an exact science." God Bless these memories of her, each of her beloveds, and each of you enjoying all she shared here, always!
Hmmmm....I bet just a little feta and fresh baby spinach would be lovely. I'm definitely going to try this recipe in the summer. I just love tomatoes. Slice them and make a sandwich with them🤗🤗
Miss Phyllis you are so awesome when you're cooking and you tell us details of the recipe that you're working on. I miss you guys so much thank God you have the videos I can hear your voice
While I was making this last night, I thought about how much Mr. Bucky liked it. I’m so sorry for your loss, Phyllis. You’ve been in my thoughts and prayers since you posted he had passed. This is a wonderful recipe and my 81 year old mom just LOVED it. Her words... Make sure you write this one down! 😉 Please take care and ask for help when you need it. Bless you and your family and pups. We love you!
This look so delicious...I'm going to make 1 for Mom & me today to go with Some Tilapia & a Pot of Large Limas & Ham hock ! Cant hardly wait to get all this cooked... TY Phyllis !!!
Miss you both so much! I will watch your videos for years to come. I really wish I would’ve found you sooner and thanked you more. So grateful to make your recipes for my family. RIP Mr & Mrs Bucky
Making this today. Oh how I wish I could have met these wonderful people. Thank you for keeping page up, I never write down I just love turning on video and cooking along with Mrs Phyllis. They sure are missed. Have a blessed day
I've been watching your tutorials after spotting your lime jello recipe. I think I have become a bit of a follower. Really liking your no fuss attitude towards baking. Just one problem...I'm always starving after watching what you make. I'm from the UK and some ingredients you use aren't available here. Or are sold under different names. The Internet is great for finding alternatives. Good job I like to experiment. Hehe. Thanks for sharing. I must say, your dog's are gorgeous. Better hair do's than I have. Lol. Best wishes Carole. Oh and Mr Bucky, your a lucky man. That's one delicious looking tomato pie...we call them flans over here. A pie would have a lid. Just thought you'd be interested. Not knocking it in the slightest. It looks yummy. :)
I have made this incredible pie twice every summer since I discovered it and now I have come back to refresh my old memory as I get ready for the tomato harvest this covid summer. My favorite ever recipe of dear Phyllis and one I look forward to every summer! I only make it with my best heirlooms or beefsteaks or romas and plenty of fresh basil.
Not to be morbid but he even seems to have died the kind of death most of us wish we could have died.... he was just sleeping in a chair and when she looked in at him a little while later he had a slight smile on his face.... but she somehow knew he was dead . RIP Mr. Bucky and Phyllis
