I really like how, despite all the “oc’s” in this video being obvious jokes/memes/existing-characters, it actually gives some really good advice for drawing and designing characters in the sonic artstyle.

I love how you only chose characters with the naming convention "Name The Species". Not only does it fit and is funny, but in many cases it's also just a goofy naming convention. Like, "Name The Species" is comically uncreative and yet powerful at the same time, I don't know, I just really like it for some reason.
To be fair, SEGA was influenced by Mickey Mouse and the rubber-hose cartoon animals of other early Disney shorts. Especially using the iconic three-circles-make-the-mouse idea for Sonic's familiar jagged profile.
Dude ... this video is utter perfection: the editing, the analysis, the humor of the ocs with their bios. I know that people who make actually good content are often not as succesfull on this platform as they deserve - but I am dumbstruck that you have so few subscribers. If I would have had to make a guess based only on this gem, I would have confidently estimated that you sit at the very least at around 10.000. Got yourself a like and a new subscriber.

Besides that, SEGA compared to Nintendo is pretty small nowadays, so the possibility of Disney amalgamating the good ol' Seggie easily into it's already non-sensical amount of buyouts would be a pretty scare possibility.
This is awesome! I've actually been working on creating a set of guidelines for every sonic species so that character designing fans can have a little reference to work from. The suggestions you make here fall in line with a lot of the 'research' I've conducted! Also, I love the vintage talk show aesthetic of the vid! 10/10

My personal favorite official Sonic character design is Mimic, who is an octopus. The reason why I love it is because he most likely doesn’t have a torso, or at least it is his head because octopus anatomy, and the large cloak he wears covers up where the torso should so they can use the format most characters have to use. He’s from the IDW comics and is one of many characters original to the series. This is actually canon to the games and is general I fun read. I recommend it whether you like modern Sonic or not.
Finally! Someone with great art out of the box! I love it how you turned characters from other series into sonic character. I made my own by looking up exotic animals to put them out of the box, but dang! This is so clean, i'd very much like to know the art app, station.......Network, whatever bloody word its called. Ha! beautiful maestro just beautiful!
very nice to see that you keep the style you chose for all the videos you produce. liked the art too. You have a great eye for detail. what i love is that you actually posted VERY marketable design suggestions for real sonic art. the blend of comedy and real-ass art advice is scrumptious.
I actually really love these. It's really cool seeing classic characters from other franchises reimagined as characters in the Sonic universe. You've definitely captured the essence of the the style. :D
Very interesting that the characters appear to be heavily influenced by old rubber hose animation. It really sticks out when you show the character model sheet
I'm about to enter a new chapter in my life, I'm entering a 3D animation school and I've never drawn anything since the third grade but this is the path I want to go my life has been heavily backed by so much Iconic stuff like Disney Pixar movies, video games cartoons and anime. I have to submit a portfolio of things I've drawn in the past and man unless I either go back in time and fetch my drawings or dumpster dive in whatever garbage dump they're in right now after so many years, I have to do something quick. The portfolio's due on the third of November. I thought to myself why not create a Mobian/sonic oc I have an idea but the thing is .. nobody taught me how to draw. Watching this video for something so serious in my life just shows me how fun and unserious art can be. I'm probably going to suffer learning how to draw in the beginning but I'm not gonna give up, I want produce content just like this video. I'm subbing thank you so much. Edit: also do you have any videos for absolute beginers such as myself just to get the basics in for drawing coz uhh times kinda ticking for me on that portfolio I mentioned earlier 😅😅

my first guess for the caricature is Elizabeth Moss of Handmaid's Tale but I'm not sure...and yet again the amount of work put into these episodes when you draw a bunch of characters and stat-sheets for each!

oof but it's nu-sonic though.. but still amazingly done I have always insisted Fang is a marsupial of some description. he has the tapered tail, the australian motifs.. I think he's a thylacine or a quoll.
I am dying, I bought a T-shirt a few months ago and it has the Mickey Mouse Sonic on it. I am so glad I changed my mind and bought it, my favourite T-shirt

It’s a bootleg graphic T-shirt so mostly just printed from somewhere else, as I don’t remember all the Mickey Mouse’s from this video but it had a similar design to yours, but In a SA1 Sonic pointing at himself pose. There was even a green Sonic team logo printed and an old classic cartoony style of Sonic, If I ever get the chance I’ll you a photo. But it does have some pretty cool pants with normal Sonic on it.
I had an OC once. Then, one day I was bored and looked over all those dumb comics I made with the character. (Yes, I couldn’t even read it) That’s when I came up with an idea. “OC’s are always made as really nice and good people. So what if I take my OC and turn him into a drunk son of a gun pain in the butt…yes…Yes…YES!” Take that me from like…7 years ago.
