Hello brotha in trying out leafing but I cant get the engine turns I got a piece of velvet from a dress and tried it but didnt work is there a certain type of velvet? Theres velvet made from different materials (silk, cotton ect )
After leaf is applied you can spin right away. I like to burnish it before spinning to flatten the leaf and make sure there's no gaps or exposed sizing
That depends on your temperature, humidity, and the kind of sizing (glue) that you're using. Normally for me with quick dry "glue" around 30-40 min before applying the leaf. After you apply the leaf, you can twist right away after you burnish it.
Rodolfo Reyes Genuine silver leaf tarnishes and needs to be cleared right away. But even then, it can still tarnish. Aluminum leaf doesn't, so that's why most people call aluminum leaf "silver leaf" because it looks the same but doesn't tarnish.
If u see heavy scratches it could be a few things...1)the brush ur using to apply adhesive is too rough and leaving streaks in ur glue...2)if ur using leafing from craftstores like michaels, hobby lobby..those leafings are not as fine as some from an actual automotive paint store...big diffrence in shine and finess..another thing is when u lay the leafing, tap it dwn with a soft make up brush...it will not scar ir
