OMG I've seen SO many tutorials on boutique bows and this is BY FAR my favorite!! Its very clear and detailed. And I love the different style on the spikes TOO!
Thank you for this tutorial. I have lots of trouble trying to make this kind of bows but I will try this method to see if I can finally make a boutique bow.
I've recently discovered The Ribbon Retreat! I was having the hardest time finding 2.25 or larger anywhere in anything but basic colors... I am so happy with the selection!!
Can you please tell me where I might be able to find the same ribbon as what you are demonstrating with, it is so cute, thanks and I love your video, very helpful.
+nunyabusiness S Hi! I think the lighting in this video could've made the ribbon look lighter than it is. We have this ribbon in a Passion Pink/Brown Retro Dipping dots, but the pink is a darker pink. Here is the link: www.theribbonretreat.com/Ribbon/retro-dipping-dots.aspx Have a great day!
Hi Raven! We have a great tutorial that will teach you how to line the clips. :) Here is the link: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-isGIBt2vW8I.html Have a great day!
Hi MJKcakes! Not a silly question at all. :) You can use a lighter, candle, or a woodburning tool to heat seal the ends. Here is a video that shows you how to do it: www.theribbonretreat.com/Catalog/how-to-heat-seal-ribbon-ends-video.aspx Have a wonderful day! :)
+Melanie Smith Hi Melanie! This tutorial uses the 7/8" width. :) Any size ribbon would work, it just depends on how you want the bow to look. Have a great day!
+Hildur Kristjansdottir Hi Hildur! The length of the ribbon depends on how big you want your bow to be. We have a ribbon length formula at :26 seconds in the video to help you. have a great day! :)
Jasmine Gordon It really varies on the area of where you live and the type of ribbon used to make the bows. It would most likely vary from $4 to $8 for a basic bow. :) Hope that helps! have a wonderful day!
Hi Jackie! What you will do is to just start pulling the thread tight as you wrap the thread around the center. It will just automatically start to crease once you start doing that. Have a wonderful day!
in the formula Im assuming the 1.5 is the size of the ribbon you are using? So if it's 1 inch that would replace the 1.5? thanks so much and this is so much easier
+Chelsea Campbell Hi Chelsea! The length of the ribbon depends on the size of the bow you want. So, to get started....you could try the 3" bow, which is 18" and then follow the tutorial. If that bow is too little, and you want a 4" bow, then the amount of ribbon you would need would be 22". If the 3" bow is too big and you want a 2" bow, then the amount of ribbon you would need would be 14". I hope that helps. :) Have a great day!
Hi Lisa! Here is a tutorial we have to show you how to make spikes for a hair bow. www.theribbonretreat.com/Catalog/how-to-make-spikes-for-hair-bows--video.aspx Have a wonderful day!
Hi Charles! The amount of ribbon to use depends on what size bow you want to make. At 26 seconds into the video will be a formula to use to calculate the amount of ribbon you need. :) Have a great day!
