I went looking to order toggle clasps to use on my diy bracelets, rather than my usual lobster clasps, and I was shocked at the cost. So, here I am, and I’m very impressed with your clasp. I will try my hand with making some tonight. I also agree that they will add to the, “I made this just for you!” concept. It would mean more to me if I received it. Thank you very much. Greetings from a fan in Texas. ✨💖✨

This is really cool! My dog just passed. She had a 24c gold plated 18mm (3/4") choker chain I had made for her. It was made of titanium and dipped in gold to plate it. I'm considering wearing it as a tribute and keep sake of her memory. I was looking for a nice way to make a clasp for it. This might work and look nicer than the lobster clasp I was considering getting and using.

I just made a necklace for the first time (Herringbone wrapped "link" with a mermaid glass 10mm bead, used as a pendant to look like an eye, attached a chain to each side made with 1 inch pieces of wire that I bent in alternate directions to look kinda like ~, I don't know what it's called) and I needed a clasp for it and had no idea how to make any clasps at all. Mine turned out... ehhh... it definitely looks handmade, but I think it's cute in its own way, and it works! Thank you so much!!

Any conversion of units is quite easy, without disturbing the maker. Using google, type- convert into subject line. Click link for convert. Choose your units whether length weight, volume, distance and so on. You may then choose to bookmark the page and add to toolbar of your browser? Now it is easily referenced. It is quite intuitive and a brief tap gives the answer. But hey, thanks presenter for going that extra distance for both units!

This is great having measurements to use as a clasp. I actually figured out the t-bar part on my own when I was making Bible/book markers but I think yours is much better and takes less time to make. I made mine wide enough to thread a ribbon through and then attached a wire wrapped heart and cross on the end to dangle outside the book. Your videos are always so helpful. I plan to make a bracelet and this will be perfect. Thanks for sharing! 🙂

How in the world do you do wire work like this with out any tape or anything on your tools? I'm loving wire work but hate all the little nicks on the wire so I'm using artist tape. Such a pain but it beats marking the wire!

I'm really interested in making jewelry. But confused with the hard, soft, wired. How and when do you know which one to use. Of all the videos I've watched on jewelry making, I've found yours are more fascinating to watch.
@FantasiaElegance
@FantasiaElegance 4 года назад
Thanks, Vicki! You might find these two videos I've done on wire to be helpful: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7kJehsjjTR8.html and ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xJXuC7mGlBQ.html In general, soft or dead soft wire is easiest to work with, and what I recommend for beginners. When I was starting out, I used all dead soft except for the wire I used to make ear wires with. Half hard is more difficult to shape, but also sturdier so it's great when you want something to really hold its shape well.
@eyadhafez7981
@eyadhafez7981 5 лет назад
I like your works but please how the wire is soft with you i try alot but not good give me advice
@FantasiaElegance
@FantasiaElegance 5 лет назад
Thanks! It's important to get "dead soft" wire, which you can find at places like RioGrande.com. A lot of craft store wire is more difficult to work with because it's not truly dead soft and will be harder to shape. I'd recommend starting out with dead soft copper wire, because copper is cheaper and softer/easier to work with then other options like brass, bronze, silver, stainless, steel, etc. Here's an assortment of copper wire on Amazon for a good price, in case you don't know where to start! amzn.to/2YwTHdt

Hi I am likening this tutorial so much wondering if you count help me with a problem I am having trouble with I do chain mail and wire art such as what's described in your tutorial however a bit different I like to recycled electrical wire something like 12 or 6 gages which I collect and strip it by self as my project mediums doing the whole jump ring finishing thing gets a bit touchy cutting them flush and neat no sharp edges anyhoo that parts of the same questions and want your technic to work for me now I can tell you what I have tried so far I have appealed my wire beforehand the trouble comes trying to get it to going in to shape of course there must be rhyme and reason can't grasp how long to start with as opposed to the wire size when using thicker wire would you have something of an idea that would help along with my conundrum Thank you in advance
@FantasiaElegance
@FantasiaElegance 3 года назад
Hi David, thanks for watching and commenting! I'm not sure if I'm following your question completely, because it looks like maybe you used voice-to-text and it didn't insert any punctuation. However, if you're attempting to make jump rings with wire as thick as 6 gauge, you will likely need a much more heavy-duty setup than what I use for the small jobs in some of my videos. You will probably want a vise grip bolted to a table to hold a sturdy metal rod that you can coil your wires around. Then either a jeweler's saw or very heavy duty wire clippers to separate the coil into jump-rings. There should be many other videos on RU-vid showing this technique, including some specialized products/setups just for making jump rings (like the Pepe Tools jump ring maker, for example) which you might find interesting.

I wondering why you didn’t just wrap the loop ends instead of cutting? Don’t twist wires. Make a “T” then make 2 loops at opposite end of T. Make parallel lops, THEN twist BOTH wires back to the “T” cut, file one side of blunt end to make a right triangle (so to speak), tuck around send nicely. Please do try this sometime. And YES!, I have 4 grandchildren that DO tug!😂😁. Have a great day!
