Chocolate Cake Recipe for 7 inch Cake trimmed down to 6 inch.
Note: you will need 3 batches ( i baked in a 7 inch tin and trimmed the edges down a 6 inch cake)
Chocolate Cake Recipe ( Makes one Batch so you will need to repeat 3 times )
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup caster sugar
1/3 cup cocoa
1 teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon espresso powder ( optional)
160 ml milk
100 ml vegetable oil or canola oil
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla essence
1/4 cup boiling water
Chocolate Ganache to coat the cake
900 grams of Milk chocolate buttons
300 ML of thickened cream
( melt together in the microwave ) in 1 minute intervals until melted.
Will take 2 minutes approx to melt
Chocolate Nutella buttercream:
110g unsalted butter , soften to room temperature
150g Nutella ( approx 3 large table spoons ) You can use hazelnut spread as an alternative also
1 cup of icing sugar, sifted
3-4 tbsp milk
