Dear Tyler, thank you so much for such an amazing video. Following the steps, I made my website. One simple question: If I want to upload my e-business name card on my website and make it downloadable. How can I do that? thanks
@@TylerMoore Helpful? No, magic. I tried multiple things like squarespace and more but this just saved me. Any recommendations of guides for a little more advanced features? Thanks again
Hey, Tyler. This is an awesome tutorial! Thank you so much for saving me A LOT of time and struggles with creating a site for my friend, who is starting his own business after being fired from a corporate. You’ve encouraged me to start and more importantly to make it done.
Good job Tyler💪 Super easy, accurate and result-oriented. May God bless you today, tomorrow and everyday so that you can continue in this good work. Happy new year, 2024.
I really enjoyed your tutorial, now that I have completed my website, I would love to know if you have a tutorial on how to set up my own recipe (page) You are a great teacher, thank you
Thanks for the kind words! So glad you found the tutorial helpful and congrats on finishing your website! About setting up a recipe page - I don't have a specific tutorial for that yet, but here's a quick guide to get you started: Create a new page for your recipe Add a catchy title Insert an image of the finished dish List ingredients using bullet points Write out the method in numbered steps Add prep time, cook time, and servings Also you can consider using a recipe plugin for more features. For example "Recipe Card Blocks."
Wonderfully done How-to. I tried out a few others and knew when I heard your voice and the pace of what you were sharing that this was the place where I could learn this web-based website builder. I have to go back a few times to replay, (I'm 79) then go to my site and apply. So much in this one video. Thank you. Is there a place to contact you for answers to problems encountered?
Thank you for your kind words! I'm glad you found the tutorial helpful. If you have any questions or encounter problems while working on your website, feel free to ask here,
1. My pages show as published, but do not show on Home Page and I cannot see them in "Navigation" 2. Hostgator has edited my domain name, at my request, but has given me instuctions to change A and CNAME in Cloudflare. WHAT????
Hi Tyler, Great work Sir, please let me know how someone can undo all the work and start over, my mobile view is awkward plus can't make changes to my button sizes.
I LOVE this tutorial. However, I am unable to add the contact form. I have retried it 10 times, and even used a different template of yours. The message states "This block has encountered an error and cannot be previewed." I installed WPForms per the tutorial and followed everything you said step by step. Can you please advise?
Apologies for the inconvenience. I've observed that the issue stems from a recent update. However, you can resolve it by following these steps: Remove the current form widget. Insert a new form widget by selecting it from the available blocks. This should resolve the issue, although you'll need to style the form manually. I'll be uploading a video about this soon!
I cannot figure out how to add a sidebar to blog posts with this theme? The template options for the post seem to be blog category pages? Something so simple can be so hard
Tyler do you have any idea why my mobile menu is not working properly? The menu is there, but I can not see it on mobile when I select overlay menu. It's like it's invisible. I've changed the colours, the fonts, nothing works. I've tried creating a new menu, doesn't work. I've unistalled all unnecessary plugins, I've cleared my cache, nothing. All is perfect, just the menu on mobile is invisble. I can click on the hamburguer icon, but then the page is "blank" but I know the menu is there! So weird.... thanks!
Tyler I finally found it, it was the overlay submenu and text that was in the white colour and I didn't realize it!!!! Finally...I've spent hours just trying to understand this ahahah. Thank you!
Hey! 😊 I’m so glad you figured it out! It’s always those small details like the color settings that can be tricky. I know how frustrating it can be, but great job sticking with it and finding the solution!
No, if you've purchased hosting with HostGator, you don't need to separately subscribe to WordPress. HostGator provides hosting services that support WordPress installations, allowing you to use WordPress without any additional subscription.
I'm facing an issue where the Home page image looks lovely on the Desktop version, but would like to use a different one for the mobile as I have the desktop and mobile assets. Are we able to actually use two different images for mobile and desktop with the template?
@@TylerMoore Yeah I realised I can just use CSS since it's a first time not coding a website for me and I was a bit lost on that, but your tutorial is actually perfect!
Hey, great si far, easy to follow. But I don't know I w if I did something wrong or something changed during thev7 month that has passed. I'm at the step to pick a n d install the variations theme. To my surprise, it's charging me $300.
Hey @truegaming8715! I totally get where you're coming from-WordPress.com can be a bit confusing with its different plans and features. 😅 My tutorial actually shows how to set up a site using HostGator hosting, which allows you to install themes and plugins without needing to upgrade to a higher plan. On WordPress.com, certain features do require their Business plan or higher, so you might see those upgrade prompts if you’re on a lower plan. You might want to compare their plans to see what fits your needs best. If you’re set on using WordPress.com but want to add custom themes or plugins, you can manually upload them. Here’s a handy guide on how to do that: wordpress.com/support/themes/uploading-setting-up-custom-themes/.
Hey! If you're having trouble signing in to the back office, it's best to reach out to hosting support. They’ll be able to help you with access issues and get everything sorted out.

@@graphicallydeb9897 @74 and been hunting & pecking on maybe 10 different sites to build and 40-50 different RU-vid experts over 6 mos. and have gotten nowhere but total frustrations. Ran across this @ Tyler Moore this morning and BINGO. Fresh Air.
Check the rest of his RU-vid channel. I believe he's already done videos on those; including his latest video before this one being about making an online store.
Indeed, I'm currently working on a blog video, which should be ready in about a month. After that, I plan to create a tutorial for setting up a store as well. :)
Wow, Tyler, I'm blown away by your generosity! Not only did your hour-long WordPress tutorials break everything down perfectly, but you're offering over 30 free templates on top of that? It's like you're giving everyone the tools to build website magic! Seeing your passion and dedication to the WordPress community is truly inspiring. You're not just an expert, you're a guiding light, showing us all the power and possibilities of web design. Thank you sir.
Wow thanks so much!! I really appreciate the support! I am trying to make it easier and easier, working on upgrading the themes to have a blog and a store for people if they want. Thanks so much!
I feel the same I spent 3days trying to make a website my first one, I keep searching for the best theme builder, page builder spending 15$ trying to build something from scratch, I just found out most question I have been asking myself and getting stuck in them😅 you make it look easy because it is by your explanation thank you so much, I own you one, I'm hitting the subscribe button and thank you so much for sharing
PRO TIP: do EXACTLY as Tyler says in this video. DO NOT be tempted to start customising small things specific to your website. FINISH everything that he has to say in the entire video and then you can do it after. This is coming from someone who got distracted my first time trying, messed up my website and eventually gave up on it. Now im back here a year later and Im doing EXACTLY what he says to avoid any problems.
Hey, thanks so much for sharing your experience! That’s great advice for anyone diving into website building. Sticking to the step-by-step process can really make a difference. I’m glad you’re back and giving it another go!
@@TylerMoore Thanks for your awesome video Tyler, my site is up and running now! 🙏🏻 Out of interest, will you be doing an updated video about how to make a blog on a website? I watched your old video about it but it seems Elementor have put a paywall around the features that you used, and i can't find any recent videos on RU-vid now that show how to add a blog into a pre-existing Wordpress site. Thanks!
Hey, thank you so much for the kind words! 😊 I’m really glad you’re finding the content helpful. I’m all about sharing what I’ve learned, and it means a lot to hear that it’s making a difference. I’ll definitely keep the tutorials coming!
It's so hard being a Solopreneur. Tyler Moore has saved me $500 in 2023. So much more to say. One word to describe me now is Gratitude! Thank You Tyler Moore for guiding me step by step through this major operation. (more like holding my hand step by step) and pointing the way.
Tyler, once again a very easy to manage tutorial. The step by step, don't miss a step attitude is exactly what I needed. Thank you for your time and helping so many of us, make this part of life simplified, manageable and time-friendly.
You are correct when you say "Don't worry about editing everything now". I started my website 1 year ago and am just getting back to it. I watched your older video which used Elementor but followed steps from 2024 video. Some things worked great but when editing I don't know if I'm editing in Elementor or Wordpress? Are you using Elementor at alll in 2024 video?
Hey there! Thanks for sticking with the process. 😊 In the 2024 video, I’m not using Elementor at all. The video is focused entirely on using the built-in WordPress block editor, which has come a long way and can handle most design needs without additional plugins. If you’re following the 2024 tutorial, you’ll be editing everything directly in WordPress. This keeps things simpler and faster.
@@TylerMoore Thank you. Tyler for your fast response. It has been much easier for me this time. Can I deactivate Elementor without starting over? I think I have 2 systems going? Your videos are truly the best. I watch at .75 speed to catch everything. Thank you so much.
Amazing...Tyler is my youtube IT consultant for years now, everytime I redo my website I go back to Tyler tutorial...Every year it gets better and better!! Thanks Tyler. Muchas gracias.
I'm 71 and this was so easy following the step-by-step instructions. I never thought I'd be able to do this. A little tweaking on content and this is going live!
@@TylerMoore Hi mate any chance to help me out with your theme. basically, I can't have the pages on the top left(header) how they are supposed to be. I created them in the dashboard editor but when I go to the website are not there. also, i can't copy/paste the generated content. so everything that is supposed to appear in the header is not there, except for the website title. The first time i downloaded the themes worked great but i had to delete everything and start again, since then nothing has worked anymore. thank you
Great video! I discovered your channel while learning how to use wordpress with your 2023 video and I have to say that the 2024 version is up to par in leveraging AI. However, I have a few questions. Comparing Astra and Variation themes, I have the impression that Astra allows more customization. For example, to make the website mobile-friendly, Astra seems to offer the possibility of modifying the desktop version without affecting the mobile version, unlike Variation. Would it be possible to make such changes on Variation too? Also, it used to be possible to change the color of menu links when the mouse cursor was over them, which doesn't seem to be possible with Variation. Is there an alternative with Variation?
seeing genuine educational content on this topic which is really hard to get into is amazing... so many opportunities for a cash grab but you keep orienting us towards genuinely free resources. Thank you Tyler!
You're literally saving my life right now. I desperately need to build a website for my business and have been stressing out and trying different avenues, and your tutorial is simply the best resource out there. So much value, and for free. Thank you so much!
hey Tyler , appreciate your contribution a lot!!! I really hope people could see how much value you are giving us here...great job my friend!!! appreciate your time and long hours you have put into this ..cheers and happy new year from the City of Knowledge @ the Panama Canal
This is now super outdated with the new version of WP... I've been trying to follow along but even the button names are different! Please do an update, that'd be amazing... then maybe I can fix my site!
I know the updates can be a bit tricky! I'm working on new tutorials for the latest WordPress version, so stay tuned. In the meantime, you can edit button names by clicking on the button in edit mode and changing the text. For instance, you can replace "Explore Now" in the Island template with any text you like, as shown at 57:23 in the video. If you need more help, feel free to email support@tyler.com.

I have built a website using this tutorial of yours. Now, I am wondering if I decide to edit my site with elemantor, will it going t be complicated? I've used variations theme instead of astra as you showed. Will this be a problem? Thanks in Advance.
If you've built your website with the Variations theme and used the WordPress block editor (Gutenberg editor), switching to Elementor could be more complex since it uses a different system. To edit with Elementor, you'll need to rebuild your pages using its interface. If you're happy with the WordPress block editor, stick with it. Here is a part of the tutorial 34:40 in which I edit the pages using the block editor. For more on using the block editor, check out fullsiteediting com.
Thanks for the phenomenal tutorial! I wanted to set up a blog page to the website I made using this video, but for some reason Elementor created a funky uneditable header, and the variation theme was incompatible with Wordpress's default blog gui. Is there any way to fix this problem?
Hello! Thank you for putting this content out there! I have a questions though, can you do we change the info that is displayed on the Category page when you click on a specific category? The info that comes up is an image and bio of you, as well as a background image of some mountains. I found out how to change it on the 404, search results, and All Archives pages but I can't seem to find the Category page.
Hi Elizabeth! To add a blog to your website, start by creating a new page and name it "Blog." Then, use the block inserter (the blue plus button) to add a blog template that you like (search "Blog"). Make sure you have some blog posts with featured images added first. If you need more help or detailed instructions, just email at support@tyler.com.

Hi! Love this tutorial! Helped me a-lot! Only problem I'm encountering is I do not have an option to "replace header" when I right click on the three dots associated with the header in the list view - can you help me with that please?
Hello, thank you for your awesome content. can you please help me with this problem. Made some errors in process of pages and other. How can I delete the theme and start over? tried deactivating and then reactivating but the same problem exists. Landing page name is deleted too. Can you help
Mr. Moore,, you are the King!, I followed along and everything is very well described, however the option to "manage all templates" doesn't show up. I should mention that I chose a wood working template and not the one in the tutorial, is that the issue? So anyway I went ahead and just found the page template but then to change the header the 3 dots next to the Header for options didn't have the option to "replace the header". That's when it all went sideways. I'm actually close to being done and pretty happy with everything except for the footer header stuff ... Again I want to express a sincere thank you for such a clear and concise video.
Hey Alan! Thanks so much for your kind words-I’m really glad you’re finding the tutorial helpful. 😊 No worries if you’re not seeing the exact options. Here’s a little workaround: head to the main page of your site and click "Edit site." When you tap the three dots next to the header, you should see the option to "replace." If that doesn’t show up, another way to change the header design is by clicking on the header so it turns blue, then you can pick a new design from the right sidebar.
@@TylerMoore Thanks again Tyler. I was unable to recreate the blue header I had up there yesterday but that's OK, the site isn't looking too bad. Keep up the good work we really appreciate it!

But if I go back to “visit site” the menu does appear on the home page! Please help!!!
the replace header section at 55:54 isn't there for me. I have the Detach blocks from template and then under that is move to. Is there something else I need to do to get this section?

Thank you soooo so much! I just made a website in only 2 days. With 0 knockledge before hand. You’re a lifesaver and so kind to make this free as well! I have one question: when I look up my site on mobile devices my images (in the top and bottom blocks) are cropped differently and it makes the site a lot less beautiful. Is there a way to fix this?
Hey! I’m so glad to hear you got your website up and running so quickly-that’s awesome! 🌟 For the issue with images cropping differently on mobile, it might be related to how the images are set up for responsive design. To get it sorted, I recommend reaching out to support@tyler.com. Be sure to include a link to your website and describe what you’re trying to achieve with your images. Adding a screenshot of the problem can also be really helpful.
Yes, if you use WordPress.com, you need to upgrade to a business plan to install additional themes and plugins, but if you use any other hosting like HostGator, you have access to all the free themes and plugins.
Thank you for these videos. If I already have a domain name, would that stop me being able to complete this process? I tried but now it just says safari can't find the server
Hey there! I'm glad you're finding the videos helpful! Having your own domain is a good start. Hey Tyler, just letting you know you were the very first person I learnt WordPress website creation from, back in 2020. Thanks a lot, 4yrs down the line and its even boring for me now :) I can literally finish a site in 10mins
Thanks, Matthew! I'm glad you enjoyed the tutorial. The Astra theme is definitely a solid choice and very popular. This year, I decided to use the Variations theme with the WordPress block editor to show how powerful it has become. It’s super flexible and great for those who want to keep things simple and make a site completely free without relying on additional plugins like Elementor. Both tools are amazing, but I wanted to highlight what you can achieve with just the core WordPress features. It's great to have options so you can find the best fit for your needs! 👍
@@TylerMoore ahhh okay, I get why you used it then. For sure it would be great for a simple site 100% agree 👍. Would definitely recommend your videos for people wanting to learn 😁
THANK YOU SO MUCH! I had built websites in the past, but everything looked so different and I was so frustrated and ready to give up. This is an amazing tutorial and I was able to build exactly what I was hoping for.
Hi @TylerMoore thank you so much for this video. I have now successfully created my website. But I can’t seem to be able to include a blog on the website. Does Variations team not allow blogs? Looking forward to your response.
Hey! Adding a blog page with the Variations theme is actually pretty simple. Here’s how you can do it: Skip the "Posts page" setting: You don’t need to select a "Posts page" in your settings. Just leave that option blank-it can be confusing otherwise. Create a Blog Page: Go to your Dashboard. Click on "Pages" and add a new page. Name it "Blog" (or whatever you like). Use Built-in Blog Templates: On your new Blog page, click the blue plus button to open the Block Inserter. Type “Blog” in the search field. Choose a blog template that you like and publish it. Add Your Blog to the Menu: Don’t forget to add the new Blog page to your site’s menu so visitors can easily access it.
