I bought the same saw 3 weeks ago and I’ve watched a dozen videos on building a table. Amazing how many guys build a table using complex tools. No offense to them but it’s a chicken and egg thing. Videos using a complete shop of cool machines is worthless to most of us knuckleheads. Your table is simple but sturdy and has great utility. I have all the tools you used in your video. I love this table. I’m heading out to get material now. Thank you for sharing.

Chicken and egg is right! If there's one thing I'm learning in this hobby, it's that each shop project usually needs 2 more to finish it.

I'm not a carpenter, but as an electrician I learned you can improvise with many other tools. I think they just use what you call advanced tools to look more professional and do the job faster. You could probably build the table with a hand saw and a hammer, it would just take you forever. 😂

I loved the simple design. I made my first mobile bench using your video. I made mine without the built in table saw as mine is already on a mobile construction site stand, but it is the same height as the bench top so I can use it next to the bench as an extension. I made one minor design change. I cut a 2x4 in half and put it around the edge of the bench along with the 2x4 frame. This makes it easier to use clamps around the edges and also allowed me to screw down the top from the underside. Thanks again for your video.

Wow! With basic tools and fasteners, you've shown how to create a functional workbench on which to build a whole range of more sophisticated projects. Lots of videos on RU-vid use fancy joinery and expensive tools; now those of us with smaller budgets and less woodworking experience can join in the fun too! Guess I no longer have any excuse for not having my own workbench.... Thanks.

Just amazing I like the simplicity I’ve never seen anybody install drawer slides that way. I’ve also not seen anybody adjust the table height using a jack. I’m on my way to Home Depot to get some 2x4’s! i’m thinking of putting my chopsaw at the opposite end from the tablesaw, I’m going to put it down low so when i’m not using it it’s going to be level with the outfeed table.

Simple design, nicely made (apart from the complete lack of countersinking). This video has given me plenty of ideas for my next work table. My use the scissor jack idea to raise and lower the saw into position in order that it can be hidden when not needed. Thank you very much for sharing.

Thankyou for this benchtop design. I have been watching this video for months and i finally got around to doing it. Thankyou also do mark denson for plans which i printed out. Unfortunately i still have more work to do as the table saw i have on order has been delayed due to recent events so i have not got the saw shelf put in yet. Anyone considering building a mobile bench even without the saw should follow similar plans. To do the top i could only get 17mm plywood sheets. I screwed the first sheet down on the top. I then filled the underside with a grid of screws. I covered the top in glue then place a second sheet of 17mm plywood down. I used weights and clamps on top then screwed from underneith. This avoided having screws on top. Someone in the comments mentioned that a table top overhang would be good for clamping. After building the bench and starting a new project i think this wouldd be a good consideration. You can always work something else out though. I am now looking to get a finishing product for the top to make it smooth and glue resistant. Could somebody help me out. Point me at some bunnings products. By the way i am new to all this woodworking and building this bench has helped my confidence. Cheers.

Agree. Inspirational. There are some really flashy builds with hidden pocket screws, torsion boxes, hardwood edging, but this finds the perfect pragmatic balance, and done with tools we can all get hold of. I'll be adjusting mine to accommodate a more affordable table/mitre combi saw on an adjustable shelf. Music was lovely too.

Yeah David, as others have already said this is a super simple (but very effective) build. I am just about to move my workshop to a bigger unit and first thing on my "to build" list is a large workbench with integrated space for my Dewalt table saw. I will be using your video plans as I found it really easy to follow. I will however make one extra addition to all screwed joints.. Glue! Just for added stability, as it will get a lot of moving around my shed. Thanks for sharing. ;)

I think the beauty of this is that you can build one yourself based on where it will be stored when not being used. I would get a notepad and start with the compact table saw. How much space do you want on the sides ? What is the max rip depth ? Another thing to consider is building a movable support for leading into the saw cut (maybe 12" or so). At the other end maybe do a cutout for a compact router table (I use mine all of the time). then figure how much run out space you would desire off of the table saw. The drawers are nice but a place to put a small vacuum would be awesome to catch the dust from the table saw. Mount a power strip in the side for assembly tools after it is all built and you are set. I think I am on my way to the lumberyard to get some supplies...

I love the that at the start of the video there are crappy Ozito drill and driver power tools. At the end of the video, they’ve been replaced by Festool etc. 😂 I had exactly the same when I built mine! Anyone doing similar, I suggest reverse building the bench upside down to have your table saw flush with the work surface and you’ll need to SECURE your table saw to the bench, screw it in, to stop it wandering through vibration. Then you can extend your fences and all sorts.

well done. Similar to what my plan is with the integrated table saw. Look forward to more videos.

Thanks so much for your video. I'm going to try making something based on your design.
