A piece of quality duct tape will also act as a zero clearance . Also when the blade gets dull… swap it out for a sharp blade . I found the WEN brand blades are great . There a one time use and then to the recycle bin but when a 80 tooth 12 inch blade is about $22.00 on Amzn . Mine will last 4-6 months . But still less than having my forest brand blade sent off to be tuned up . Cheers
Thanks. I can use this. I will probably make the first one out of MDF just to make sure I get it done properly and then make them out of whatever scrap I have. I wll probably make a couple for 90 degree cuts and then maybe one for a couple of different common angles.
Thanks for the tips. I’ve been watching your videos for a while now and I’ve learned a lot from them. I made some of the Christmas trees for my family; now the whole neighborhood wants me to make them some. The same with the wooden stars. I’d like to see more videos of you projects.
Andy, great video! I have the same Hercules Miter Saw and wanting to make a Miter station for it. Wish you had a video on your Miter station because with it being a sliding saw it sticks so far back and i am trying to figure out what dimensions to make the lower cabinets.
I actually just used regular 24" deep cabinets, then spaced them out far enough that the slide mechanism doesn't hit the wall. After that I just added some 3/4" plywood to the top. Now I have an area behind the cabinets for storage for things like old dust collector piping.
