You went backwards. The 1/2" Mark was your sew line not your cut line. Watch part 1 again. Hope this clarifies. 1. Draw your line at the angle to the original pillow body. 2. Cut the fabric on that line 3. Mark a 1/2" Mark as you see line. Maybe that will help you a little better. I'm a professional seamstress. If you need more help, let me know. If you have to have a visual, watch part 1 again. When she draws the line with the tape measure that is your sew line. Big 2 yard ruler is the cut line.
