DaWanda, I have seen so many videos on RU-vid and one thing I like about yours is that you are descriptive about why your pressing your pigment so much, I also get so annoyed when the pigment chunks get in the way!!! I like how you describe measurement and preventing cross contamination with mixes. very helpful!
Aww thank you, I can't and don't want those chunks, either. some viewers that watched this video, feels this methods is too much work, but that's ok. My way is not for everyone. At least some viewers can understand, why. If you don't measure, it can become a mishap, and I don't want that, lol. I'm glad you did enjoy, tfw & take care
I am 1 minute into the video and had to stop and comment. THANK YOU for asking others to chime in if they had a better or different idea on how to do this. I have never seen another YT crafter say that. I see SO many others jump down someones throat if they offer a comment or " I did it this way " stuff. So , THANKS
You made my day, I’m not perfect. I love a new way, and try to explain mine the best way, I know how. If it doesn’t work, I can admit that to you and myself, Tfw & take care.
@@DaWandaBarton can you do a video doing color glow... With glitter, lol... I saw glow powder on Amazon. I want to do Christmas colors glow in the dark so it looks like Christmas lights on my fingers but I'm not sure about the ratios. I've looked at other videos and they just dump stuff in and that seems like a waste
Aww, cheeks are filled with joy, thanks for your kind words. I'm glad you did enjoy the vid. I know sometimes, I can be all over the place with explaining throughly, lol. I will put it on my videos to do list. Tfw & take care
KaoriDiaz The sounds and feeling this is giving you is called ASMR..Welcome to a world of relaxation and peace!! 😉 Just type ASMR in your search!! I was trolling her comments to see if anyone else noticed this lady is a ASMR artist!! Peace
Crystal you look like the lady who use to come on TV going to different nail salons. Is this you? Wonder what had happened to the show, loved watching it.
You will, it took months before I got the hang of acrylics. I know I can edit out some of the things I say. But hey you never know, I keep being thorough, I say to myself, “it will benefit somebody.” Tfw & take care
Your so awesome...Goldie locks hahahh how funny but love it, makes the color unique followed by the rest of the other tones A+. Now you given me much more ideas for my work ☺️
The colours are quite beautiful, have you tried putting the powder in a bigger pot with a sealable lid? It’s so much easier for you, if you mix with a wooden cuticle stick or an old no longer used baby first spoon size🥄it saves the wiping up & clearing up of powder on a tray, it truly does mix very good in the larger pot, then all you need is ur labels on the side of the pots so customers can not only see what they are getting but will remember their favourite colours by name, I mix mine as they are ordered to get my customers excited, it’s nice for clients to have input into my powders, I name some colours after my customers names, I have one awesome navy blue powder mixed with gold moons & silver sequinned stars omg with light blue and dark glitter fluffed up with clear acrylic, it’s the most amazing look so I called this one by my name Barbie/blue-x1, glitter wasn’t around in my days of training 23yrs ago it was basic nails but today? How amazing to see the nail industry boom so hard for glitter and nail art? Keep up the good work👍🏾☺️☺️☺️
That was so well done & you showed us so well have to make these powders! I’m sure going to do it. I guess you was using acrylic for you’re a liquid, to make the powder moist’ looking so forward to seeing more of your videos! God bless you
I’ve only seen people put it in container and shake it but it’s cool to watch it this way to see it better while it mixes up ✨💕 I just subscribed to your channel 👍
I know, I'm really not a brown or green fan, when it comes down to nail design, but if it's clothing; I'm all for those colors. I tell you, a lot of viewers are digging that brown, lol. Tfw
Lucky Lucy Ricardo you could. (I did) before I saw this video but sometimes you get the pigment color in little teeeeensy tiiiinnnnnny clumps and it shows on your nails.
Really cool tfs! It's easier to do than I thought. Can you share the links to where you buy your pigments and glitter? Also could you please do a tutorial on how to apply the clear and pigmented glitter in a mani?
+Myishia simmons yes, once you get a ratio it's real easy. The pigments were shany, which was a loose mineral eyeshadow. I bought those onwww.amazon.com/SHANY-Cosmetics-Mineral-Eyeshadow-Favorite/dp/B002RGMI6Y?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00. Also try aliexpress. Tfw
Hi, thank you for enjoying my videos, those are eye shadow loose pigments, by the brand shany...a box of 24 colors? I bought them on amazon about 2 years ago. Sorry, I looked for the link, but I guess it’s no longer available.
Dawanda... U have a good thing. Take it 2 anothr levrl & create ir own label & sell ur products U like. I mix fine white glitter & acrylic powder. Creates a strong natural looking nail. Versatility w/ ur method. Package it & make $$$.
Excellent advice, thanks for the encouragement. I want my own line. I just don’t know, what I want to start with. So many brands that offer the same thing. The industry is so saturated. Tfw and taking the time out to support. Take care

Glitter is more given then pigment. You can do more or less with glitter ratio, because of its sparsity the acrylic or Gel can not absorb it. If you want to see more glitter add, if you want to see less glitter add less. Glitter does not weaken the acrylic or Gel application. So therefore you can mix and shake with acrylic, only, but not if you adding pigments with the acrylics and glitter; it has to be mix to crush all the bits of pigments evenly throughout the acrylic or Gel, first. Trust, you will see specks of pigments in your application. Then you would add your glitter, then shake. Now, you can't over add pigments you must have a ratio cause acrylics and Gel absorbs pigments it wouldn't apply correctly. This was a month full, I hope it was helpful. Tfw
I always put a splodge on the top of each lid to show the colours 😍 . I always use natural too for pigment I agree it looks a lot better . Good was of mixing the pigment too I will do it next time
Yes, it do work., I tried, I have a small one. but it’s not wide enough, and I hate exchanging and cleaning colors, it stains, and the mix get caught in the grooves to much for me. Tfw
Yes, if you are dealing with loose glitter and not pigment, because it’s so hard for me to mix or smash the pigment good enough IN small containers, to where it’s clump free. You want your application to come out smooth without specks of pigmentation in the acrylics or gels. I hopes this helps, TFW
😊 I didn’t show how I mixed that one. sorry, I actually made that glitter with a calculation of many different shapes and colors of pinks, silvers, and iridescent glitters. I normally use a formula of main color is 100% and any other goes down each color 50%, 40%, 30%. Try not to use more then 3 colors together. I hope this help. Tfw & take care.
Question: Can I use a craft store glitter for doing nails or do I need a special material of glitter that works best? I don't want to spend money only to find out it's not what I need. After reading some of the comments I started looking at other videos and found the way you're doing it is far superior than the other videos by mixing it on the glass. No clumps at all. Yes it takes longer and some clean up but it pays off in the long run. Don't know about the baggie idea but the jar just doesn't work with a "caking" type pigment. IMO Love your video and learned a great deal. I'm just doing research before giving it a try and your video is most informative.
Yes, ma’am you can recollections is a great glitter from hobby lobby or micheals, and get that coupons off there app for discounts . Thank you for your honest and supportive feedback, Tfw & take care.
DaWanda Barton I tried it today. I really liked it. You have to tilt it back and forth to make sure it all mixes. Definitely faster, and easier for me the lazy girl!
Hi, you can mix it with any acrylic, I use the clear acrylic when I want to achieve a clear look with the glitter, and I use a colored acrylic to darken the background of the glitter mix. Example: I use a pink colored acrylic for the background color and then add a blue, yellow, green glitter. If I want to see just the glitter with no background color, I will use clear acrylic then add whatever color glitter i want for the mix. Tfw & take care
I'm a bit confused, if your making the glitter home made, then how come your using that already made up glitter, did you make that as well? If so i'd like to see exactly how you made that type of glitter, this would be very much appreciated, thanks.
No ma’am this video is showing how to take ready made raw glitters to create different color glitter acrylic mixes; with measurements to make them applicable to build a nail enhancement without problems. Tfw
Hi, i love this video. im very new to this and my english is not the best so i did not understand what the colored powder is? is it like an eye shadow? lol i dont know :-) all the way from Norway im glad i found your shannel.
Yes, try not to get the acrylic powder on your hands. If, so try not to let it stay on your hands to long before washing them. Everybodies different, it just irritates my skin when left on to long, nothing severe, though. tfw
Yes, you can but prefer the big class I'm using, it's flat & much easier to make sure all the pigment is thoroughly smashed and mixed. When the container is round to me it harder cause you can't see all your mix. You unable to spread it out and smash. I hope you understand my answer. Tfw & take
Hopefully, I showed enough about cleaning my acrylic brushes in this video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0iWA3sW4lH4.html Tfw & take care
