Hi friends today I am going to show How to Make a Portable Air Conditioner at Home .Here the material I have used are
1- peltier TEC1-12715 ,12v 15A
2. Aluminium box
3. 12v mini water pump
4. Computer SMPS for 12v power supply
5. CPU cooler (HYPER 212 x) ,
6 . Color container ,etc
It is better for mini room ,does not effective for large room.

This seems logical to me! The water would cool the hot portion of the peltier module and the remaining cold side would dissipate out into the radiator and into the room! Genious! Would be a similar science as liquid cooling a vehical motor!!! I'd like to try this
@retweaksatapathy106
@retweaksatapathy106 2 года назад
No actually it won't work. I have tried similar with 15A peltier. The output cold air is toooooooo far less because of that big heatsink and fast fan not even noticable. And the water would get hot as hot as 80° in 30-40 minutes then no more cold air, since hot side don't get cooled anymore. Efficiency is less than 1% of electricity used. 99% lost in heat conversation. And there is no meaning, since you have to change water every 30 minute for that hardly noticable coldness (notice he turned fan off to measure temp of heatsink) and the power consumption is not worth it. Obviously you can use it as a water heater if the geyser at your home goes faulty.
@SharkFishSF
@SharkFishSF 2 года назад
@@retweaksatapathy106 it would work if there is a large enough source to absorb that heat like a water tank....I hope.

both sides of Peltier can be use to a cold or hot its a matter of reversing its polarity, also make a Temp. measurement in the room itself away from the the Peltier just to prove if it really works. coz a small Peltier like that will have no effect of coolness inside a room

Cool idea. But there is one issue. Using that much thermal paste, makes it lesser effective. The reason for thermal paste is only to fill out tiny gaps, in order not to trap air pockets between the two surfaces. A thin layer makes the most efficient result.

Dude.. peltier modules are pretty inefficient as they waste a lot of energy as heat. This one of has a 12706, will consume around 72-80 watts of power and with 12715, it will go way higher. But all these efforts aren't going to cool anything. As the cooling is pretty slow and has a very small surface area to cool down the air that flows through the heatsink. Also the cost of these components is way higher than just buying a evaporative air cooler. Though the video was entertaining .

@@AnandBhatB Ac will draw more than that I mean at least 10 times. The main issue here is you should find a well designed heat management system. Should combine water plus air cooled cooling of heat side and should use very good heatsink and a powerful fan at cold side as well. Also one more thing take into consideration is, should consider passive cooling of room. that means do not let direct sunlight hit on the walls etc

It would be even better if in the bottom, you used bottles of frozen water in the water and just changed the bottles as they thawed out. This could work for a person sitting near the fan. I turned off my ac and in my bedroom have a large air cleaner with a big fan and it works well enough. This little device if not for my pets climbing all over it is a good mini air cooler. I even have a duad fan CPU fan that would work well as this one has.

@SuppenDfg 4 года назад
The idea is not bad, but besides the inefficiency of TECs there is also flaw in your design. You're using a heat-pipe cooler. Heat-pipes are very good in transporting heat, but bad in transporting cold, because you need to increase the temperature of the liquid in the pipes above their boiling point for them to work. If you cool the base only the copper itself will transport anything so that a simple cooler without heat-pipe should deliver better results.

@justinmarquis3896
@justinmarquis3896 3 года назад
A peltier module is a thermoelectric cooler. It uses two opposing metals, that when electricity is run thru it creates a hot and cold side. They are not very efficient. I have a few dozen they are super fun to play with, I use solar and lithium batter packs to make odd little inventions with. They are not. I repeat not useful as a ac. If you want a small portable ac you can a. Invest in a micro compressor, which are more cost effective, or b. Just use ice in a cooler and pump it through a radiator with a fan. Either way.... they're fun but you'll never cool a room with it as the cold side is only as cold as you can cool the hot aide and eventually that water is gonna just get hotter and then the water jug itself is gonna heat the room. Hence why ACs are outside. That's why your fridge heats your house the compressor is inside.

This is a nice toy only. Peltier effect junctions have a lousy efficiency compared to any sort of compressor system. In comparison a cheap dorm frige would probably make more cooling than the contraption in the video, and use less electricity to.
