Awesome video! Would love to see more videos on ambient music! There are many to choose from such as tilekid, reidenshi, bonjr, antent, alixe and many more :)
i’ve been looking for a dreamscape/oneheart tutorial for so long and i never saw any tutorials. dude, i can’t tell you how happy this tutorial made me. thank you, instantly found a new subscriber 🥹
A really nice tutorial, very well explained. I love how you entertain and explain what you have to share. First video I see on your channel .... Subscribed.
I think diving into the settings of the verb and echo would be most helpful, especially where its such an important piece of ambient music. Looks like you put them directly on the track and not on a send. Always struggled understanding when to use a bus or insert.
very good - I also love putting in talking so it is not easily understood but it is heard (a la "sit you down father rest you" on Magical Mystery Tour - not sure which track) - one thought - slow down a little and enunciate - esp. at the start - I'm making notes so when you run a comment about 3 effects together and say verb it is difficult for my old ears to follow.
Great video, thanks Will! Are you familiar with Fred Again? His album Actual Life (April 14-December 17 2020) is probably my favourite. Love how each song is based around a voice memo, spoken word poem, video that somebody has sent him, etc, but you get wee snippets of them all throughout the whole album. Somehow feels reassuringly familiar and nostalgic. Wonder if this would work on a Lofi EP?
I LOVE Fred Again, actually did an episode on him just recently but totally agree with you, in fact that album (and vocal snippets/poems) is actually what got me really excited about his music!
Didn’t know the genre was called dreamscape. I listened to this alot growing up. Have you heard of Bryan El? He use to make something like this but with drums. Got a new sub. Cheers from Seattle 🌊
Hey man, lovely music! Just wanted to ask you about how copyright works with the movie dialogue you used and how you got around it, because I wanted to sample a couple of dialogues myself, please. Thank you, and thanks for the lovely tutorials!
As you can hear at 13:19, it’s not really something that anybody (or a computer) is going to pick up on, so who’s to say I really “sampled” anything, if it’s manipulated beyond belief and can’t be heard, you’ll probably be fine but sampling and what is considered copyright is an ongoing, convoluted grey area - the bottom line is, if you’re going to sample, always remember that you could get a copyright strike or worse a fine for doing so!
so did you export all of the instruments into paulxstrech and then have it as another layer underneath them or did you replace all of the instruments with the stretched version?
