Really loved this video @BoBeats and @AndreaCichecki. I've been learning modular synthesis for the past year or so and it's so cool to watch how others put a patch together. Modular is so endless and there is always more to learn. I hope to see more videos like this. It's both informative and inspiring. Beautiful work all around!

Very nice! My mother is very intimidated by *Modular Synthesis* I explained it's no different than the *Quilt making* she does, essentially *Quilting* is a method of stitching layers of material together, _(We connect layers of modules together)._ Although there are some variations _(as with modular),_ a quilt usually means a cover made of two layers of fabric, with a layer of padding, _(we layer the fabric of our sounds with pads in Modular Synthesis to produce this cover)._ in between all this, it's held together by lines of stitching, _(as with modulars; they're held together by the stitching of cables)._ The stitches are usually based on a pattern or design, _(as with modular, we base stitching them together, with a particular pattern or design in mind)._ The final product of a quilt is based on this method, and so is the musical end result of modular synthesis... Suddenly It clicked, and the look on my mom's face recovered from intimidation and confusion, as she understood for the first time; what modular synthesis is truly all about. If more women decide to take up modular synthesis, us men are in trouble, women are fantastic at it! 🤩
@hillblocksview Hi, what a great explanation of it! I'm happy to hear she understands it a bit better now. Indeed, it's building layers of sounds and connecting them with each other. I always think like that as well when I compose the songs. 🤗
I have found that no woman wants an explanation of how something works, especially my mom. However, I have to give long explanations to these women of what I do, when I'm not around them. 😎
Start with a basic setup - Sequencer>VCO>VCF>VCA and an Envelope Generator. Behringer's System 100 modules are a good place to start. You can use an open frame rack with a power supply module or something like the Cre8Audio NiftyCase.

@talktalk4503 You can also try VCV rack, which is virtual software and can be very helpful to try first patches. The person who helped me a lot with his tutorials and classes is Monotrail Tech Talk. He is very calm in explaining patches as well.
This was truly beautiful and insightful! Thanks for sharing, Andrea! btw. funny, just yesterday I thought if the Blofeld could be some useful extension to my Eurorack. It sounds fantastic. How happy are you with it? Are there any other synths or modules you are thinking about for Leads and Pads?
Thank you! I love the Blofeld, you can make so many different sounds with it, and it's reliable. I still have a wishlist, I would love a Dave Smith Prophet or a Waldorf Iridium. But for now, I stay with the Blofeld. 😊
Beautiful and soothing, and explained very well. Sometimes I think it would be nice to try this, but then again I failed my european modular license 3 times in a row. ;-)

Indeed Almost 😉, sadly the video would get way to long, but I tune my oscillators to middle C with the Hermod + (and I use a Midi keyboard connected to the Hermod) and in between I check tuning with a Korg pocket tuner as well. I use clear oscillators tones like a sine wave and no FX or filter modulation to keep a pure frequency tone. The sequences I programm and play into Hermod with a midi keyboard but you also can use the pads on the Hermod itself. I hope this info helps a bit
It's interesting, but please don't go too deep into modular videos. Often I watch a modular video and think 'who is the audience for this who has all this same/ similar gear and doesn't yet know how to use it?'.
