Works salvation or a grace salvation. Islam and every other religion preaches works, works, be and do good and you'll get in, do this and that. Christianity is the opposite, no good deed makes a difference, but its grace upon grace. All are guilty and have sinned, no man is deemed eternal life, but eternal death if just 1 minor sin. A earthly court is identical to this proceedure, whereas in Islam it teaches you can out work your sentance with good deeds and faith.

What makes me crazy is people criticize Christianity but are ok with Islam. Islam is the same thing except it's worse. 100% of Muslims in the UK said Homosexuality was immoral. 25% said they agreed with suicide bombers. 52% said that homosexuals and apostates should be illegal by Shariah Law (death).
@Dootnd
@Dootnd 5 лет назад
@BTIsaac what statistics? Religious people being worse off is objectively untrue, with so many examples to the contrary that I can't even choose the best one for this situation and I even have examples that opposite is often the case. And you are obviously ready to oppress people because of perceived and handpicked characteristics, so why should anyone care what you say no to?
@Dootnd
@Dootnd 5 лет назад
@@Jordan-Ramses That is because of a certain ideology, it amounts to: White man bad, therefore things that most white men like is bad, most white men in history like Christianity, therefore Christianity bad. It is quite racist to take away the agency from Muslims that they believe are some shade of brown. And by just changing the target, they start to sound like members of certain other religious groups. 100% of Muslims in the UK is impossible, you can't ask 100% Muslims in the UK to begin with and there are homosexual Muslims in the UK that don’t think that they are immoral by pure probability. Other than that, you are just rambling. A percentage of Christians agree that Homosexuality is immoral, they literally joined the protests to change the sex education curriculum and a lot of Christians say they need to defend their land from Muslims by any means that is not sinful, because suicide is a sin.
@Jordan-Ramses
@Jordan-Ramses 5 лет назад
@@Dootnd - 100% of Muslims surveyed. I think you know how surveys work. If you want to call facts 'rambling'. I am not defending Christianity. My point is that everything you hate about Christianity Islam is worse. Pick anything. If we destroy Christianity and allow Islam to take it's place we will be much worse off than we are now.

These pastors infuriate me. I've studied all religions, because I am truly seeking, and if you are really "seeking god" you would read every account of that idea in the history of mankind, not just the one you were born into and I gotta tell ya, after studying eastern religions like hinduism, buddhism, and taoism, the Christian "values" seem soooooooooo childish and nonexistent. The whole religion is soo simple and nonsensical.
@johnnywatchman777
@johnnywatchman777 5 лет назад
That's because Jesus did it all ..., all you need to do is believe. All other religions you have to do things (works related) to impress the god .... Jesus did it all so know man should boast ..... he also fulfilled 456 prophecies from the Jewish Bible that were hundreds of years old ....
@saintarcana9859
@saintarcana9859 5 лет назад
@@johnnywatchman777 yeah, heaven forbid you have to be a good person. Hinduism and buddhism doesn't preach impressing an all powerful God. But acting morally whatever that means in your current situation to achieve an enlightened state and realise God. Somthing anyone from any walk of life or any religion can do through infinite ways. Because if you truly believed god is infinite, there would be infinite ways to god. Christianity trys to make somthing so vast as all existence and the universe into something very simple, that no one without a book would know, leaving out the majority of people who have ever lived. Simply saying you can act poorly and hurt people because jesus a person you have never met and don't know died for you thousands of years ago, sounds like an excuse to not take responsibility for your actions. Where as in eastern religions you are responsible for your actions, it is a lot scarier of a religion, but there is no more reason to believe in Christianity than there is to practice Hinduism.

THE 'SON' OF GOD p.s. as it's a question about the Bible, an honest atheist would choose 'B' and a clue for those who have yet to figure out what the LIGHT is, Jesus said: 'I AM the LIGHT...

@@jackbond5348 The Book of Genesis was (we think) written in the 5th or 6th century BCE, so the answer 'C' is dependent on anachronistic texts. But 'A' isn't correct either, since the sun isn't created until the third day. The answer's D: "God called the light Day" (Genesis 1:5) Edit: Incidentally, no, an honest atheist isn't obliged to choose 'B'. You can have knowledge of a book regardless of whether or not you consider it to be fiction.

@@Jaclyn and Random Manny Ok then.... These are pretty GREAT arguments I found other Christians using as evidence for the existence of the God of the Bible, can you ignore these? GOD IS REAL AND CAN BE PROVEN IN A COURT OF LAW!!! The biologically immortal organisms that lack senescence are already extremely great proof for God and his design but if you want more..... The 3 main forms of evidence that would be acceptable and legitimate in a court of law for the existence of God would be..... "Life after Death experience studies where people witness a creator God- " iands.org/resources/education/recommended-reading.html " " time.com/68381/life-beyond-death-the-science-of-the-afterlife-2/ ", .......... = "Both sides of the argument!" Multiple Studies on the effectiveness of prayer from multiple religions involving a creator God like in the book "The Divine Matrix by Gregg Braden" " www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_2_13?url=search-alias%3Dstripbooks&field-keywords=divine +matrix+gregg+braden&sprefix=divine+matrix%2Cstripbooks%2C195&crid=3BXKVNJABO9OK " along with other such studies proving a positive co-relation, ...... Positive co-relation to prayer in a peer reviewed study.......... jamanetwork.com/journals/jamainternalmedicine/fullarticle/485161 ............ and scientific facts mentioned in the Bible before their human discovery by a divine influence, www.eternal-productions.org/101science.html ....... For example….. 1. The singing stars. Job 38:7 declares the morning stars sang together and all the sons of God shouted for joy. It sounds like a bit of Bible poetry but not much more. After all, stars shine, not sing, right? Well, it turns out scientists have been able to convert patterns from start light into audio wavelengths, according to Discovery News. The “amount of hiss” in the audio reportedly allows scientists to measure the surface gravity on a star and gauge where it is in its stellar evolution. 2. Weight of the winds. In Job 28:25, we are told that God weighed out the wind. This one may be no more self-evident to us than it was to an ancient Israelite reader of this text. But, we know from modern science that air, since it does have mass, weighs something. You might be surprised to know how much though: an estimated one ton of air is weighing down on shoulders, according to this science site (which explains that we don’t feel it because the air is exerting its force in all directions). This is pretty basic stuff for modern scientists, but it’s quite a credit to the inerrancy of Scripture that the author of Job got it right so long ago (approximately in the second millennium BC). 3. A massive fountain of water deep beneath the Earth!!! Genesis 7:11 "In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened." www.thesun.co.uk/news/2242110/scientists-discovered-water-from-biblical-great-flood-in-worlds-deepest-hole/ www.express.co.uk/news/weird/733026/Russia-science-Kola-borehole-Noah-floodwater-Bible-Genesis-theory-of-12 creation.com/oceans-of-water-deep-inside-the-earth "Scientists dig the world’s deepest hole - and find ‘water from NOAH’S FLOOD’ at the bottom The revelation also reportedly "disproves the myth" that the earth is made up of dry rocky layers" All these would stand the scrutiny of a judge and jury for the case of a creator Gods existence and the legitimacy of the Christian Faith!!! But I am feeling generous so I will give you two more great forms of evidence, how about this book where a forensic officer who is atheist studies and researches the Bible to see if it proves a historical Jesus and if he was murdered wrongfully? Cold-Case Christianity: A Homicide Detective Investigates the Claims of the Gospels www.amazon.com/Cold-Case-Christianity-Homicide-Detective-Investigates/dp/1434704696, afterward he became Christian!!! Also, why don't you just pray to God yourself and ask him if he is real? What more can I say??? Then you would have personal evidence and proof of Gods interaction yourself..... I mean, there is actually way way way more evidence for God than this but it either would go over your head or you would not understand it properly and you would question it, but this is really solid evidence and proof I have given you up above that would hold up in a court of law........... if you decide to RUN from it, at least admit to yourself that is what you are doing........ Do you believe your life, body, family and the ground you walk on are all a gift or something else? If you believe they are all something else then what do you think they all are then?

When you have a god, you have a guide to how to live life morally without evaluating your own morality. An atheist of any type has to take upon themselves their own agency and evaluate all things for its morality and be responsible for those decisions. This is why religious communities are so riddled with crime, as they have a rigid moral code, but no sense of personal responsibility to live by it. Atheists have to share and evolve their moral codes with each other AND the religious, hopefully making a morality that is the best fit for the community YOU live in, instead of the community of 1800yr old shepherds.

I have made a hobby of responding to christian proselytizing by politely proselytizing atheism back at them. Its very entertaining, and a healthy intellectual workout.( I am, in fact, an agnostic kind of Buddhist) If this idea of a mental workout sounds appealing, make certain to sound inteterested in their opening pitch but do not concede any points that you don't buy into. Usually just by being polite but rational, you can send them away with a long list of questions that they will have to discuss with their spiritual programmers before they can sleep easily. Talking to religious proselytizers who are on the ball and bright has taught me alot about my own beliefs and convictions. I like to think that these conversations have benefitted both parties. You never know if the sanity you express to a convert may someday take root, and save them from their popular delusions. And even if neither party ever changes, learning to effectively communicate these complex ideas in debate trains important mental "muscles". Being polite and kind are important in these confrontations.

I think this is the most relatable of your videos for me! Perhaps because as a european, the issues you discuss often go way over my head. But this, the question of morality through religion, is one that has kept me on my toes for years. On the subject I particularly like the argument of the "vertuous atheist" developped by Kant about Spinoza. The idea is that the atheist is moraly superior to the believer, because his morals are not induced by fear. As such the atheist is the only one to be able to be selfless and do a truly good selfless deed. For the same action by a believer, could be interpreted as a means to get into haven. Love these more philosophical videos!! Food for the Mind! Truly.

You seem very angry about a lot of things, I used to be like that. The more I study various religions the more open minded I become, which includes an open mindedness toward Christianity. I have not met a Christian in real life who believes that atheists have no morals and don't care about others. I have not met a Jew, Sikh, Muslim, or Jain who believes that. All of the Christians I have met in real life appear to be coming from a place of empathy and compassion regarding their beliefs. They believe they are helping, it doesn't mean that it isn't annoying for an atheist to be preached at. Nonetheless, you can't claim to be open minded if you aren't willing to be preached at (Or listen to a perspective different from your own without getting angry- because at the end of the day their beliefs can't change your life) in my opinion. Of course, that does not in any way mean taking abuse. If any religion were proven without a doubt to be true I'd believe, and believing (at least in the case of Christianity and Islam) means following. Many people find peace in calling themselves atheists and moving on with their lives, but it seems from the outside looking in that in doing so you sort of close yourself off and wall yourself up. We should all do good because we want to, not for reward, that's true. As far as I've read a Christian follows Jesus because they love Him and love God, not because they will be rewarded. I hope that all find peace in their own way.

Stephen Serrano I’d have to heavily disagree... pay attention to both sides of the argument not just the side that you want to be true. I honestly believe that the evidence points to there being a God. Lets say you “lack a belief in God.” Okay, that’s reasonable. At least you are not saying that it is impossible for God to exist. If Christianity is true, it is the most important thing ever... if not true, its the biggest con of all time. Christianity is hinged on the belief that Jesus Christ rose from the dead. There is a backdrop of relevant evidence that shows that Jesus Christ did in fact live as a real person and rise from the dead... you just haven’t been exposed to it. Go look up William lane Craig videos on the historic Jesus... or even give his book (on guard) a read. There is plenty of evidence bro, you just have to look and not have presuppositions before looking at it.

When I was younger I was rebelling against religion and I didn’t believe in God , I wouldn’t go to church and I hated the Bible , some of my family converted to another church and i was forced to go by my mom but I still kept my beliefs with me, years later and I’m so thankful I walked into that church that i first hated , i would argue with the pastor and not care about what he would say. There was something different in that church , the ppl were different they didn’t force any religion down your throat , they would teach about it but they weren’t forceful , they’re the most loving people I’ve ever met , I’m involved in that church now , and I’m filled with so much love and joy . It’s not that Christians want to shove God down your throat it’s that we want everyone to feel the same way we feel , not all Christians are the same tho lol . I just want others to feel and experience the same things I’ve felt and experienced. I’m not judge mental toward others and their different beliefs as Christians we are called to love and not hate something most Christians don’t understand.

I was raised as a Christian. My mom took me and my siblings to church every Sunday and we even went to a private Baptist school. The only thing I got out of that whole experience was severe mental health issues and told I wasn't having enough faith/getting blamed for their toxic treatment towards me bc I was sinful (and inevitably every other student) and then eventually a trip to five different psychiatric facilities over the course of a year!! Don't you just love the support from Christians? You say you are struggling and all they have to say is that you can't rely on people and need to trust God, rather than actually being there for you. Ive been "away" from that religion for almost two years now and like jaclynn said, my life has changed for the better. I feel so much more confident in myself and my mental health has improved, not with God, but through support from my friends, therapist, current boyfriend, and ultimately my own inner strength that I've built up. The choices I make for my life are my own and I don't have to worry about displeasing God or Christian peers bc I know what is right and what is harmful for myself and how i communicate with others. Do I have struggles with my anxiety and depression? Absolutely! Who doesn't? But feeling like you're walking on eggshells to please a seemingly sadistic god doesn't help. I'm still friends with some Christians, and I let them live their life with their faith and even incorporate it into the advice I give them at times bc I know it is a comfort to them, but personally I will never return to that religion.

In the year 53AD Josephus tells us (Life 2) he started to investigate the religions of his area . He did not seem to think "Christianity" was of any importance. "When I was sixteen years old, I decided to get experience with the various sects that are among us. These are three: as we have said many times, the first, that of the Pharisees, the second that of the Saduccees, the third, that of the Essenes. For I thought that in this way I would choose best, if I carefully examined them all. Therefore, submitting myself to strict training, I passed through the three groups." - Life, 2.

This video quite interesting, and not because it was good but because it suffers from several flaws that assembled throughout the video, such as these examples that follow. The girl askes Turek a question of how one can discuss Christianity to atheists without sounding and acting forcefully. To Jaclyn, who already made veiled ad-hominem attacks on the girl, accuses her of asking a contradicting question, for Jaclyn believes every time someone brings up their faith to a non-believer they are being "forceful" when that isn't the case since there are ways to bring up faith, such as using certain choices of words that are simply not forceful. Not only that, one can merely perceive one is being forceful although the other can have good intentions. But even if Jaclyn is correct we might as well not ever have discussions on any topic because we are afraid that it might get "heated". It is a lack of good judgment on Jacyln's part since religion, politics and other cultural phenomena are ingrained in us and must be figured out critically without the thought of offending someone. I can say that Jaclyn committed a Secundum quid since just because some conversations about religion are forceful one must not conclude a generalization that any Christian that brings up his/her faith it is necessarily by definition forceful. Turek then asks the following: " _If Christianity were true would you become a Christian?_ "(3:36) Jaclyn goes on a red herring discussing Pascal's wager which has nothing to do with what Turek said, for that question does not necessarily need to invoke Pascal's wager; one can just read the Bible or study existentialist philosophers such as Kierkegaard or Marcel who are primarily concerned with the process of living as a Christian then rather dealing with the intellectual theorizing about a God. To reiterate my point, it is about existence, then essence that should be considered for the religious life. Jaclyn then proceeds to say that believing in Christianity is not the same as becoming a Christian which is quite odd because by definition this could be true but it is pedantic; to become a Christian it requires that you believe in its tenants, just like becoming a Utilitarian requires you to believe the tenants of the Utilitarian writings of J.S Mill, for example. My point is that the two words are interrelated, not a dichotomy as how Jaclyn seems to imply. Jaclyn then moves on to claim that the God of the Bible is " _fucking awful_ " (4:49) despite not providing a shred of evidence since she already assumes that the God of the Bible is evil, which is begging the question. She, later on, says that " _Even if I knew all the shit were true, I wouldn't immediately be like: "okay, well, I am a Christian now I am going to worship this God..._ " which is quite humorous since she admits that she is *wishing* away God because he is apparently awful. Quite a sight to witness Freudian wish-fulfillment in real time! This comment I think will haunt her for the rest of the video. For she says later, that it is Christianity that is rejecting the truth to be comforted. Can one simply say that "okay, I *believe* there is no God but I won't *become* an atheist for it is awful since it implies that we are nothing but people trapped in the tragic misery of life pursuing contradictory worldviews and that we should accept a thoroughly impersonal force (nature) that gives no shit about us in a world consumed by material consumption engulfed by individual instrumentality, accepting the principle of "anything goes" outlook." It is vanity, chasing the wind that this life is beautiful when it is actually hell and meaningless. As Heidegger once said: " _Only a god can save us._ " Jaclyn next says the following: " _Most countries that are secular have low crime rates, the most religious places are often the places the most riddled with crime._ "(7:38) There are multiple problems with this argument. 1. It is a Cum Hoc because since event c (secularism) is happening simultaneously with event e (low crime rate), therefore, secularism is why crime is dropping. She uses the same reasoning for the religious countries essentially. It is a correlation that is being observed here, not causation. The argument is also ambiguous because when Jaclyn says "religious countries" what does she mean? Is it necessarily Christian, or Hinduism, or Islam that has a problem with crime in their respective countries? Countries such as Croatia, Switzerland, Slovenia, Austria are although officially secular but are majority religious but all have low crime rates. Denmark and England have state religions but also have relatively low crime rates. She makes a typical response that religions are not a saving grace for society, which again is a strawman because religion ( particularly Christianity) is about one attaining personal salvation rather than making society as a whole pure. Does she forget that Christianity started out as a small sect in the Roman Empire existing alongside other religious systems? It was born in pluralism! She then goes on to say: " _You got to be good to people now...live the best life now._ " Which is strange since Jesus, the letters of Paul and the letter of James give practical advice on *how to live now* , Christianity as read in the Bible is not obsessive about an afterlife. What if perhaps the New Testament says there is no hell, or one goes to heaven? The amount of begging the question in this video is astounding, to be frank because people are actually taking this woman seriously when all she is doing is assuming without proof that Christianity says certain things that are not quite so and are completely misunderstood. Jaclyn then attacks a strawman saying that Turek accuses atheists of being immoral which is not what he said, he said rather atheists wish away God to become there own "god" which in many cases are true. Most atheists leave religion because they feel religion weighs in their lives and see it as an oppressive force and therefore wish to liberate themselves from it. It is to them, a psychological fulfillment that finally gives them "freedom". Turek again, not once claimed atheists are by default immoral but stated a psychological reality. It is ironic because she essentially believes Christianity is immoral and will say that bluntly to a Christian like myself, such as: " _God is okay with rape, and slavery_ " (5:03) but when *some* Christians say that atheism is immoral, boy is Jaclyn easily triggered. On a final note, I will note some ironies. Jaclyn does not like it when atheists are generalized but yet generalizes Christians, that they don't like asking questions, don't care about the scientific method although modern science as we know it owes itself to Christians (Francis Bacon, Galileo, Newton, William of Occam, to name a few), and are not open-minded on learning from other religions, although there are several books on Buddhist-Christian dialogue and Christian scholastics translating works of Aristotle, Plato, and other pagan philosophers, and lastly commits a genetic fallacy saying that people who are religious are only so because of what their parents told them. Although I would agree that having a belief solely from your parents is a weak foundation, one cannot conclude that a belief is false based on the origin of the belief. Essentially, I'll say this: Jaclyn is someone not to go to for any constructive dialogue between Christians and atheists when at the beginning of the video rejects doing so.

The pursuit of ultimate truth as this hairbag suggests is what led me to leave the faith. My goal, at the height of my fundamentalism, was to become the *best*, most read, knowledgeable Christian out there, because I wanted to be able to respond to anybody who was not a Christian. It’s that very path that I took that was the undoing of my belief in Christianity. The more I looked at other beliefs and dug into the opposition to Christianity, the more what I held as truth began to crumble. It was not a fun time, either. It was not easy having a paradigm shift that I wasn’t expecting. My entire perspective was destroyed. At some point early on, I actually wished I’d never began looking into it.

It's ultimately a loaded question. It's the problem with identity and labels. I accept that America truly exists, and call myself an American, but that doesn't mean I worship America. I use the word American because I'm establishing my country of origin, not because I'm trying to establish my worldview. I used to call myself a Christian but didn't really worship God in that sense. I eventually reached the understanding that, in this case, labels matter. So, when I began to lose my faith, I stopped being a Christian, because calling myself a Christian means more than just believing the truthiness of God. It implied worship too. Ultimately, his question should be "If the Christian God were proven to exist, would you worship "Him""? Easy question to answer. No. As portrayed in the Bible, he's a moral thug.

I became an atheist because I read the old testament. However, life happens and I swear to you I was so steadfast in my beliefs that 2016 me would never believe that I now attend church every Sunday. I respect people of other religions and also people without religion because I remember how I was in that way of thinking, I had so many religious people try to tell me what to believe and it only pushed me farther away. I now understand why Christian's are so pushy, it's mostly because of their love for Jesus (excluding extremists here) and their longing for everyone to have a seat in heaven, our core value is to believe in Jesus and that will get you there, so of course as a Christian you want to share that and promote that. HOWEVER, coming from that past experience I often only bring up my opinion if it is asked for or just to spread knowledge. What bothers me is when people belittle others who believe in God and think that we are just blindly following something for fear of eternal death or because it's all we know. While there are the blind followers, there are also people who have done deep research and considered all options, including looking at texts outside the bible for evidence and when you start to really dig deep, it can truly make sense. At the end of the day, whether you're a Christian or an atheist you must take some sort of leap of faith to either believe or not to believe. Because while there is evidence for the existence of God and also some evidence against the existence of him, we will never truly with 100% certainly know the answer to this question until the day we die. All we can do is evaluate the evidence, and follow our own truth while also respecting others and their truths.

Christians generally really believe they are helping to save people's souls by trying to convert them. Many of them just want the satisfaction of knowing they converted someone, but a lot of them seem to have a real concern and are troubled at the thought of people being tormented in hell forever. My grandmother and I had a really good conversation about religion, actually, (me being agnostic/athiest), and my grandmother believes that God (post Jesus God) has pushed the progression of society towards the gaining of human rights- the right to be gay, independent, etc. That when humans use their free will to rob other humans of their rights (Nazis and extremist religious peoples) that they're pushing against Jesus's word of love and acceptance. Which is a lovely sentiment that I wish more Christians had. I'm still athiest, but it is this side of my family that keeps me wondering if maybe it's possible there's a God.

She wanted to know, how I can be so sure that God does not exist! I answered that she misunderstood me ... I just don't believe in God because, there is no proof of his existence ... or the existence of another "almighty" God / or whatever! I then asked her how she can be so sure, that "her god" is the right one ... it's not like, that there are no other "candidates", claiming this position for themselelves (I gave her some examples!) She was confused for a moment ... and changed the subject shortly afterwards ... and I didn't got answer!

I just want to be a good person that has a positive influence on the next generation and religion has zero impact on my desire to do that. I do it cause I want to and I want the next generation to hold the same values and know there is good in this world. That's my Atheism

Hey Jaclyn! You are so right about how boring is to hear the same old arguments to justify faith... Ugh... Btw i was surprised about last videos of Cosmik Skeptic and how he applied the same atheist reasoning to our food habits, i think is so cool to explore other topics now and then just to keep pushing thoughts and reasoning :D

I had a coworker on Easter get upset because I said I was atheist and she said "oh I'm sure you're more agnostic than atheist, you're so nice" as if being nice means I need to believe

i see that the coworker doesnt even know what is the difference in lack of belief and lack of knowledge and that these are not mutually exclusive. i hate when people use agnostic as some sort of middle ground

As a Christian, would have to agree that a mot of Jaclyn's comments have a point, might even argue that Paul the biggest author God used of the N.T. would even agree with some of her points too. Reading 1 Cor 15:19 If we have hoped in Christ in this life only, we are of all men most to be pitied. I would completely agree that as a Christian there are things which I voluntarily give up, and if at the end of my life I gave up those things and simply decompose and push up flowers, then i really should be pitied for living the life that is did. Interesting how we can often see the hypocrisy in others, oh oh, can i ask a question??? ;) But it is rather interesting she mention she has a really bad video to share and that is so terrible, but then uses it as a strawman to say how bad Christians are? I'll agree we are all messed up and leave it at that. Cheers.

0:01 I know I’m late to the game but even though Jaclyn’s probably joking, watching the old cbs drama, Joan of Arcadia (Joan of arc spinoff) for free on RU-vid could slightly potentially turn a non believer into a skeptic, agnostic theist, just plain spiritual etc. it doesn’t prove God is real but it mentions scientific theories that make a divine presence plausible

My grandmas are all super religious and like I can respect that but they talk about it way too much and they don’t respect other people’s opinions on god. Sometimes they seem sorta brainwashed or something idk.

So real talk, back in the early stages of my transition all the shit between you and Arielle and Blaine went down and I wrote you off but I’ve always been a science and reason person. Recently I’ve discovered I actually love you and my response was very reactionary. Your atheism content is 🔥🔥🔥

I was once told by a Christian that maybe the reason I didn't have friends is because God was trying to show me he's the best friend I could have.

Classic Jaclyn! The problem with you J is that you make too much gawd damn sense! That young girl first lets that Freudian slip out about those they proselytize to sometimes feel you are pushing it down their throats. Then it ends with the preacher encouraging her to confront her friend with The Truth, and piously explains, "When the teacher is ready, the student arrives" Totally whack

I always write comments knowing that you probably won’t see them but maybe someone else will and I just wanted to kind of share something that happened to me a couple months ago at my job. There was this man coming in to sell a product and after telling him that I wasn’t interested he continue to make conversation with me and started asking me a lot of personal questions. i am very nice so I don’t tend to ignore or disregard people if someone talks to me first and I didn’t know how to like tell him to leave me alone and so he just continued to ask me all these questions until he asked me if I believed in God (which I don’t) but I was so scared to reply honestly that I just said yes. he then continued to talk to me about God and religion and he was asking me “do you want to go to heaven” and I just think that’s a very unfair question because when you asked someone that no one‘s going to say “no I don’t want to go to Heaven I want to go to hell” because who wouldn’t want to go to heaven. anyways he just kept talking to me about religion and about God and if I had accepted him as my Lord and Savior and I lied and I said yes because I was scared of being harassed for not being a believer and he then made me pray out loud with him and I didn’t know how to say no bc i was really anxious and just really scared of getting a negative reaction from him if I said no because a couple years back my friend’s sister told me about some dude that came into her job in a similar manner and after telling him that she was Buddhist he got really upset and started saying all this shameful things about her not believing in God and that she was going to go to hell and I didn’t want to get shamed for not believing in something so I lied and said yes to all his questions about God and he made me pray and afterwards I felt kind of guilty because I think it’s rude to pray when you don’t even believe in who your praying to. point is dont ever fucking ask someone about their religion/personal beliefs. i hate being approached by religious people that are trying to convert people bc i never know how to decline in a way where they wont get upset and then start preaching to me about things.

Valuing well being and morality can only happen when that is the end. It is fundamentally amoral to behave in such a manner simply to avoid punishment and seek reward. Otherwise, a dog that has been trained to not shit on the carpet is a moral agent.
